I'm with you msi2. I think Masche playing at CD for Barca helps Argentina out immensely. Think of all the running and tackling that Masche does not have to do while playing at Barca. It helps keep him fresh when he does play for the NT and has extended the mileage on his legs by a few more years. I never thought Masche would make it at 34 but by playing CD, he has extended his career by an extra WC cycle.

Mashcerano played as center back for barca before so that means he had playing time there and it is different then just sitting on the bench which might happen this year , we will see how that will affect him when he plays for the national team

I'm SO GLAD DiMaria did NOT participate in today's game.

WHY help RM win ANOTHER trophy when obviously they never appreciated him.

Not before when he seemed another spot filler to them or when he was a major contributor to their UEFA campaign.

Has the fact Mascherano not always playing been an impediment to his ouptput with the NT? I don't think so...

I wish mashcerano was atletico madrid player, he would have made them even more tougher, now I am worried barcelona may not play him because that useless basquets what ever his name is, masch is ten times better but he is not Catalan

Ungrateful Real Madrid.....

Simeone wins the Spanish Supercopa with Atletico. Another achievement! I think he will give Barca & Real a good run for their money in La Liga.

totally agreed Messay... i think man u needs one or two world class center backs... well they brought Rojo... that is very good for them but Garay would have a good partner of rojo, but he recently joined Zenit, so now they are looking for benatia, as hummles also denied the move..... they must need a quality CB
they need a good box to box midfielder too... i heard they interested about Enzo Perez.. the combination of di maria and perez will be huge
if they bring both di maria and perez....then i will put by bet on man u's side

Di maria has made it clear he wants CL football, thats why he wanted to go to PSG initially...

But, Di Maria in Robben role in Van gaals system would be extremely enticing!

The only problem is, I don't think Man U would be a top 4 team even with the addition of Di Maria, they really need other signings!

Di Maria going to Barcelona would be the same as Real Madrid..He will have to be content on playing from the bench at times..Barcelona have Messi as their star, then you have Suarez and Neymar on the same team..Too many egos for me..

PSG already have a bunch of egos too; Zlatan, Luiz, Cavani, Lavezzi, Pastore..When I said ''egos'', I do not necessarily mean it in a bad way..

As I said before, I was never a fan of Man United. For me, this is where Di Maria should go..Di Maria will ultimately become the star of Man United with Rooney and Persie on the decline..He will have a team to call his own, instead of joining Messi or Zlatan clubs.

With United out of the UCL, makes it an even tougher decision to make..I'm sure if Di Maria made a transfer he would want to face Real Madrid at some point during the UCL but this won't happen with Man United, so I'm wondering if this is what's holding Di Maria back from going all in with Man United.

Barcelona supposedly made an offer of 60 million for Di Maria, Real Madrid have rejected. Laurent Blanc confirmed there are many clubs interested. This is crazy.

a little worried about Fazio going to the EPL. outright speed and acceleration are not his strong suits and the EPL will really test those to the limits.

Hello Baker, I hope all is good over your way and the reports are
http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/sevilla-captain-federico-fazio-flying-to-london-today-to-sign-for-spurs-as/
we will see as until the ink is dry on a contract its not a done deal.

we seem to have stopped our interest in Musacchio because of the complicated 3rd party problems as he is owned by 3 different parties-crazy.

Agree with giving a youth chance to start earlier at N/T. Tata have a target for long term at WC 2018, but he could bring glory in between at Copa next year, Therefore, it will be wise if he could start building his team with the mixture of young and senior players.

Arg is the best producer for world striker, but when play for N/T; most of them flop. History always tell the repeated story. We need a real "Batigoal"

fan thoughts:
"Excellent from Lamela when he came on as sub. Hope he starts on Sunday, deserves it"
"lamela and kane are on the same wavelength, looks like they'll enjoy playing off each other.
soldado up front would make this threesome the most intelligent attck in the EPL"
"Bossed it completely when he came on today"
"Clearly the boy can pass and is happy to do so"
"Needs to play, thats all. Will be a top top player no doubt. Hes been working hard and it shows"

as you know on have I have defended lamela, he is young and in a few years I really hope and think of what magic he could do for our Argentina but he will need time and we have to be patient with him.

we need icardi, lamela, iturbe, ocampos all these youngsters alongside the players such as pastore, and gaitan. they are the future of argentina copa and world cup. the oldest such as higuain, kun, lavezzi and maria will be rot in the next 4 years with injuries, stamina and form. we need youngsters to back them up, subs them, make a change that all this star players can not do in the previous 2 world cups. there is no time for me to glorify sabella squad like some of you do here, like there's no other thing after got into the final in brazil to talk about, wake up! that final match was a total mess from everything for argentina. i don't even want to watch it again or to remember it again.
after the useless friendly against germany, i want to see tata name a new squad mixing young and old.

Ocampos will be a star player at Monaco with James gone just watch him in the Champions League. I love Lamela hopefully he does that in bigger games this season like vs Chelsea Arsenal etc. Pastore also deserves a call-up. I think Martino called players to see who he likes and as a goodbye game for some older players maybe..

I think we should never banish players because history has shown that we suffered because of this.
the fantastic four were not at their best at the world cup.there were many factors, injuries, lost of form, and no team cohesion and link between midfield and attack...
but that doesnt mean they would fail in the next world cup because in history players had bad world cups and bounced back and had very good performances in the next.
but we also should not marry with any player, competition should be an essential part of our team and after 4 years we should select the best players available who are fit.

Lamela & Pastore should be immediate picks for the NT. Not sure how Gaitan is doing though. He's another guy who deserves a chance & probably Ocampos too.
