Unlike some of you guys, Im would actually like to see this game no matter what, but it wont be shown on TV here in Finland so my question to you is: Where can I see the game live? Is there some kind of ARG NT -livestream site somewhere in internet? Thanks in advance.

Messay: if the coach cannot pick the players or team he wants what is he? as I said any coach should be able to pick and choose as at the end of the day its his head if it al goes wrong.
look at bat (a poor coach) but he was told to include and play tevez in the copa and we all saw the end result.

@ghostdeini,

my comment wasn't to discredit your opinion, but you called the coach a puppet... just because the AFA selected the team before he was even appointed...

does he really deserve to be called names already? I remember long ago, when everyone used to call Pekerman... Pekershit... just because they didn't agree with him...

there is no harm in criticizing and disagreeing, specially when one fails in merit... but to call coaches and players name without no reasoning...?

i don't know, maybe i am missing something...

we think alike.

why would someone decorate a room with roses? they die quickly and then all is left is the trash.
they are for special occasions only.
yes I complained :P

@Messay
I respect you very much since you were a moderator at the Worldcupblog, but whatever you are allowed to think what you want, if you dont like certain people´s opinion why dont you skip reading them, anyway I will never stop writing what think and will never excuse wrong things that happen with our team.

ghostdeini : yes some people just don't get it as its all about control for the afa.
the naw coach is appointed but he must play the named afa team, who knows but perhaps that is why sabella did not want to stay as we know sabella is his own man.
perhaps that is why sim has not even been talked to by the afa as they know he would be hard to control him.

the easy way would have been martoio will "over see" the team for the ger friendly but will officially take charge after that game.

after over 20 years of afa control is seems to have no end, as they say "how long is a piece of string?"

hahaha... a puppet? because the Federation selected a team before a coach was appointed, and the new appointee affirmed the decision... and decided to go with it...

it's is so funny, some of you are no better julio grondona! You keep blabbering about, how he is a dictator... but if you had the his powers, you would be No better, in fact your outrageous bias proves you might even be worse than him!

You blame others for looking through a single lens, but fail to realize the lens you you view things through is much more narrower!

btw, this isn't targeting Pablo D. although, i disagree with some of your takes, i still feel that you are writing from the pain of the loss... which i completely understand.

But there are others of you, that just keep bashing. blaming, blabbing over every single thing that happens...

Who cares? It's just a gala match with a bitter aftertaste because of the WC final. I don't think I will watch this. I won't learn anything new about the team or the players. The first interesting match will be the one against Bra71l in October. That's where we can get a view into the cookbook of Martino and discover his ideas and plans about the NT.

I think some people simply do not want to understand!
the problem is not that Martino called the same 23 players(although this is kinda a problem but this is another story) the problem is AFA called those players and Martino was ordered to call them.
in this situation Martino a puppet, we want a coach with all the power not a puppet.

Those saying that we played "negative" and "defensively" to get to the final, keep in mind that Sabella knew that a few of our players weren't fully fit (Higuain, Aguero) but he couldn't just drop them.

And that injury to Di Maria put a lot more pressure on Messi to pull the strings himself. Sabella is a defensive coach, but that Di Maria injury hurt us a lot more than people think. Perez did great, he's a good two way player, but someone like Di Maria is irreplaceable.

We made the final playing "defensively" but we also never made it past the quarters playing "beautifully" and "attacking". People make Sabella's team out to be like Chelsea in 2012.

I don't understand the hate Martino is getting. He called up the same players from the World Cup. Big deal. Does anyone actually think there's any player (both from Argentina or Germany) that wants to play this match? Especially right at the start of the season? No freaking way. We can win this match 10-0 or lose 10-0 and it wouldn't give us the slightest hint of what went right or what went wrong in the match.

We're all still angry and even fuming at Palacio, Higuain, Aguero and a few others but such is futbol. Anyone who said Sabella should have dropped Higuain and Aguero right before the World Cup must have been joking. No one in their right mind would have ever imagined that our back line would be our strong point and our forwards would let us down as much as they did.

Credit to Sabella for realizing that Fernandez was a ticking time bomb and put in Demichelis instead. No, Demichelis will not be there in 2018 and maybe even the next Copa, but if calling him up one last time against Germany is a way for Martino and the AFA to thank him and some of the other veterans for their years with the team, I'm all for it.

Someone here already said this and I will repeat what they said because I agree with them. This group made us dream. Much more than 2010, 2006 and even 2002 ever did. This group of underdogs played their absolute heart out. Romero and Rojo, the two main guys which we were all bashing and hating on played like warriors. We we were the first in the World Cup to completely shut down Robben (that tackle by Mascherano on him at the 90th minute will forever stay in my mind). We beat everyone's favorite "tactical genius" of a coach Van Gaal. We won a penalty shootout after losing in 2006 and 2011.

I'm not celebrating second place, I would have killed to have won that World Cup but we made the final of the World Cup in Brazil. This team deserves our respect. Higuain and Palacio (as bad as he is) did not mean to miss those chances on purpose. As much as it kills us, those misses hurt them a lot more than we can ever imagine.

It's now the Martino era. No one should take anything away from the match against Germany next month, at all. If the same 20-23 players are called up in October, I'll be the first to question on Martino. But this decision to call up the World Cup players was made by the AFA prior to Martino taking over.

"Real Madrid could decide to keep Angel Di Maria after influential duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos held talks with club president Florentino Perez in an attempt to convince him not to sell the Argentina international"

also at the ath game when di maria came on the crowd gave a big roar and were applauding di maria as he came on, it was a clear message from the Madrid faithful to perez not to sell him.

I think since the Copa America is so close....this will basically be the same squad if our Primary goal is to win it and by this I mean, in the past (except last 3 copas) Argentina tended to field experimental teams.

So I thinking This squad with some Minimal changes may go. With some of the youngsters people mentioned here sneaking in. The other copa america on the other hand I could see the older heads totally gone by then Demi,Palacio etc

I personally have no issue with Tata Martino he was given a failing squad at Barca and then instead of getting defenders they purchased Neymar.....he had so many restrictions but yet he tried to be professional.

Those same fans seem to conveniently overlook the fact that Pep and Tito(god rest his soul) got found out and the latter got smashed terribly by Bayern.

I think with the Copa America so close I won't expect to much changes. Players like Gago,Demi,Palacio and older players may JUST sneak in barring HORRIBLE form and then after that Copa I am pretty sure most of those older guys would be gone.

i too respect the 1990 team for different reasons as every thing was against them.

i remember that game vs the yellow team so well and it was defiantly not for the faint harted but that maradona pass to can was special and that finish. oooaaarrrrhhhhhhh :)

(i meant their was no special game after that final loss in 1990 for them just because they had got their as we have today vs ger for the 14 loss "a thank you game" did not happen after 90)

its actually the afa im really mad at as ive seen since 1990s the afa interfere time and time again with coaches.
i might not like coaches choices all the time but i respect it is their plan, their team and their way as it should be.

if martino wants to play the same team every time then so be it but to have the team forced on you takes away power from martino and as we know it wont stop from the afa.

Jack!: do you respect the 1990 team? their was no special game for them despite the fact they reached the final.

as you may or may have not read in my past posts its not about the misses for me, sure they hurt but that football. for me its about the effort and watching some players (who do have my respect) like mash and bil bust a gut for the team where others do not have my respect like kun who seemed to be on a sunday stroll.

i said it on here before the w/c i would not care if we had won all our games 1-0 to win the final as its all about one thing and that is winning the final, for me getting their is not good enough for me as only victory is.

you have the right and choice to respect who you want and i have the same right to not respect some, that is what makes us all different and neither of us is wrong .
as i said below my big concern is not who is picked it is that it should always be the coaches choice of who is in and who is out but it seems it is the afa once again meddling in the team and they should never be picking the team, let the coach decide and let the coach live or die by his sword.

I don't get what the big deal is calling all the players back. You think it's by mere chance all the players that were at the World Cup are called? As for not deserving our respect, don't be childish, you act as if they wanted to go out there and miss chances and wanted to get injured. And I doubt anybody would complain one bit had we ended up winning. I am as still bitter and upset about th circumstances but this group of guys gave me great joy for a month. Might've put more grey hairs on me, but no matter what, they deserve our respect, no matter who it is, they all contributed one way or another to get to the final. If it was in the game or in practice. So, if this continued again and again in the near future, then I would echo your concerns, but we are not there yet, so chill.

Teams that did well in the WC will not change too much opposed to teams that failed miserably.

Contrary to Germany and the Netherlands, Argentina does need to make several changes simply because we had the oldest squad in the tournament whereas the other 2 teams had many youngsters.

@ msi2
Yes, IMHO Dunga made a wise decision to replace failing players with Miranda and Felipe. Those two helped Atletico win La Liga and reach the final of the WC. Ignoring them was a big mistake by Scolari. Just as stupid as Maradona failing to bring Cambiasso and Zanetti in 2010. Yes, they are 29. So what, they won't be too old for next years Copa if they stay fit.

Guys lets not rush into conclusion. After a not so successful campaign with barca where he wasnt given full authority DO you guys think he would have accepted this offer from AfA with similar clause? I think he is a man with high self esteem and self respect otherwise he wouldnt have quit his job at Barca where he could have easily gathered his compensation for early termination of his contract(2 yrs)!! This is the Netherlands squad..It's basically the same world cup squad..Rafael van der Vaart and Gregory van der Wiel only missed the world cup because of injuries..Like Argentina, the Dutch change their coach after the world cup..

Goalkeepers: Jasper Cillessen (Ajax), Tim Krul (Newcastle United), Michel Vorm (Tottenham), Jeroen Zoet (PSV)

Defenders: Daley Blind (Ajax), Stefan de Vrij (Lazio), Daryl Janmaat (Newcastle United), Bruno Martins Indi (Porto), Erik Pieters (Stoke City), Gregory van der Wiel (Paris St Germain), Paul Verhaegh (Augsburg), Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa), Joel Veltman (Ajax)

Midfielders: Jordy Clasie (Feyenoord), Nigel de Jong (Milan), Leroy Fer (QPR), Arjen Robben (Bayern Munich), Wesley Sneijder (Galatasaray), Rafael van der Vaart (Hamburg), Georginio Wijnaldum (PSV)

Forwards: Memphis Depay (PSV), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Schalke), Dirk Kuyt (Fenerbahce), Jeremain Lens (Dynamo Kiev), Robin van Persie (Manchester United)

Pablo.d: For the games against Honduras and Hong Kong later this year, I want to see new and old faces (old faces, as in; Pastore, Lamela, Salvio, Gaitan etc) for those games..

We can't do anything about the AFA right now..That's the reason I barely comment on here criticizing the AFA..Waste of my time for all I care..They will have to clean the entire house for the AFA to become the fans AFA..

Lets just hope after the Germany friendly game that Tata will turn the page on guys like Campag, Gago, Palacio, Orion, Augusto etc..I for one don't mind Demichelis staying on the team for the short term..For me, Demi has been playing the best football of his career since the latter stage of the BPL last season and throughout the world cup.

If I see Martino calling up the same squad for the other 4 friendly games this year, especially against weak teams like Honduras and Hong Kong, then I will be very critique of his decision..As for now, I'll be giving him the benefit of the doubt..

Pablo.d: You came out of the blocks swinging at Tata Martino from day one which is making no sense..Can't you just wait and see what will be his next move?

If I see this same exact squad by the end of the year, then Tata will need a reality check..As for now, you can't fault him when the team haven't even play a game under his leadership.

my friend you are totally right.
to add to your posts, what makes it worse is that Martino had a gentlemen agreement with the AFA that he will become coach even when Sabella was the coach, because the AFA knew that Sabella will quit after the World Cup and that is why Martino rejected the Malaga offer stating he already gave his word to the AFA so he had plenty of time planning his project and planning what players he wants to call.
I am not against Martino, i will give him a chance but the problem is the first step he took was a wrong one, hopefully the next ones are better.

some of the team do not deserve our respect and they will not get it from me and others do have my respect but this "farewell" game is for who? as I have not heard any retirements from the n/t/international football? or had martino said this will be the last game for player xx or xx-I must have missed that press release.
maybe it for the way we played near 400 mins of knock out football to score 2 goals and lose a final.

as for this: martino does not know the players, what world is he living in then? we all here know about the players and if he's really desperate to speak to them then call via a cell phone or video conference, watch the many games they play on dvd, sky tv etc if martino does not know of the players he should not be in this job and he owes the players nothing, their are not his friend and nor should they be.

we needed to move on as we don't have a lot of friendlies before its copa time, this is a wasted afa sponsored friendly.

@ghostdeini You bring a good point. I have thought about it. If what you are suspecting is true then we may have a tough time ahead. If Tata is doing what he is ordered, then Argentina national team can quickly become last years Barcelona. He cannot be ruled by board and big players as happened in Barca.

I hope Tata is strong enough and dictates his thoughts, else, he will be calling players decided by AFA, other playes, media etc. and soon he will lose the dressing room.

I remember 2010-2011 years very well. No matter what Sabella brought a system and an identity and we went to the WC final. Last thing I want now is going backwards.

I think that Martino should have started to call his players from the get go. First..we didn't win..so as others have said..why pay homage to a loss. Second..these are professional players..not some young kids whose egos have to be massaged...they are professional millionaires...Start calling and testing players from the get go BC Summer 2015 will come sooner than you think due to limit FIFA dates. As mentioned prior- Germany loses many friendlies BC they use them to test players..Some pan out others do not.

the problem is not that Martino called the same 23 players, the real problem is it was rumored before he was hired that we will call the same players to pay "homage" for losing, with the result that it shows who really is in charge and Martino was not asked about this, he just followed the orders and we want a coach who is really in charge and does not follow orders so this is the first battle with the AFA and he lost it.

friendlies are important for testing, it matters who we call but it does not mean that we must win with all cost, winning is just a plus.

I wanna see what Martino does in the future, I do not want to prejudge, because I do not trust anybody.

Argentina needs to try to win every game they play regardless if its a friendly or not.

Winning a friendly has no bearing on whether they win the next meaningful game against the same team or not.

@All
Seeing a mixed reaction.

One group of ours says, he did good by selecting the same squad, reward the players for taking us to a final after 24 years.

Second group do not like it. However, many feel these friendlies are a farce and not much of a value. So, if that is the case why do we even care who Tata calls.

I am of the opinion, Tata has started well. He personally have not met anyone yet (as new Argentina boss). So, dropping a player could seem unfair to the player. So, this is good, get the old team and then may be he has own way to do it.

This is a pointless friendly where new faces should start now.....and not next year. The rebuild starts now dammit!

Jonathan Wilson on Lamela.

If someone thinks Sabella bought in Kun to please Messi, what can I say. Then why did Sabella send away Banega, why did Argentina played such a defensive game? Most players including Masche and Simeone has gone on to explain how Messi tried to adapt himself in a system not suitable for him in the wcqualifiers, as he thought only about the team.
The Lavezzi sub was a stupid ARgentine tradition, every coach of ours seem to repeat it from time to time, a clueless stupid act.

I got it travis , but in the case of alvarez he didnt got his chance to prove either.

Any way one mistake sabella done was he didnt made competition with in the team , most of them clearly knows they will be in squad or first eleven irrespective of their performance.

Lavezzi was easily the best attacker in the final before the numbskull of Sabella decided to replace him for Aguero... Messi's best friend. If you want to play counter-attacking way, you need pacey players like Lavezzi. He was a formidable threat to the german defense in the final until he was substituted by an out-of-form Aguero that even made Maradona saying something sensical for once: "Aguero wasnt ready for this WC!" A decision, that retrospectively made no f****** sense at all!

@baker at least there should be a competition between perez/banega, basanta/ansaldi, alvarez/gaitan and lavezzi/icardi. players like alvarez and lavezzi especially shouldn't earn the place in nt easily.

maxi, orion and gago didn't get a call yet?? good, call pastore, caballero, and gaitan.
if tata wants to use this friendly to say farewell to some of the players then let him be. the match means nothing anyway. so what if we win by even 4-0??? there's no pride to gain in winning this match. infact if we win it, it would be hurting more.
romero, zaba, garay, rojo, mascherano, maria, biglia, messi and higuain should stay. fernandez and aguero should fight to the death for their position. andujar, campa, demi, basanta, augusto, alvarez, perez, palacio, lavezzi should say goodbye to the national team, like...forever.

Probably Tata wants to give the WC squad a chance for revenge. If not, his selection offers little hope for those who missed out on the WC due to injury or just plain stubborness from Sabella. I do not need to repeat the names of young talents and those ignored by the previous coach (see many posts below).

The new coach from our rivals (Dunga) makes a better start by selecting players like Miranda and Felipe Luiz.

very true latino on the fitness and honesty.

hats off to falco who was the main man but said to his coach who was going to take him
"don't waste my spot and take some one else"
that takes balls to say as any player does not know if they will get another chance but the team should always be above personal.

if only or 2 of of players could/should have put country before personal about their injuries.
oh well they took some great selfies for us all to remember-not

Word. Now let's hope that Martino can improve with those areas mentioned in that great analytic post by Sugarlos. Build the defence on the tradition Sabella created. Rojo, Garay, Masch will be the backbone of NT the next 4 years. Then start slowly trying 3-5 (not more) different new players for the rest of the defence-spots. I think that he will also build his midfield around Enzo, Di Maria and Biglia (why waste the Sabella foundation and start completely new?) and then give 2-3 new players chances to be the next man up.

What about offence then.. well, Messi will be the main man also in Tatas papers, which I personally think is a mistake. That's because of the pressure Leo has with NT. Tata should just let him play freely as a one striker in the team and rely on the midfielders with the ball possession and creating changes. I would also make Masch a captain. So Messi will be up there for sure no matter the condition, but what about the others then? I know that many of you are not going to forgive Aguero and Higuain and are waiting Pastore, Lamela, Icardi, Iturbe etc to be the next generation and take over, but I think that Tata will build on Sabella-foundation in this department also. Higs and Aguero will play Copa and no one knows who will be our top scorers (or should I say top scoring change wasters) in WC, but it's certain that the likes of Icardi will have tens and tens of goals to make on the big stages before they are considered seriously taking over the NT-striker spots.. So as much as I hope seeing new blood and as much as it's been said that this selection is only a gratitude-move by Tata, I think that it also means he's going to build much on Sabella's work. And why shouldn't he? We finished the second after 2 years of high level games. It wasn't so bad.. :)

PS. Im sure that the games in Hong Kong and US will see 5-8 new players in albiceleste-shirt. Still, that doesn't mean that those new players will be there during Copa.

Sugarlos. I also believe that both Higuain and Aguero should have taken their responsibility and have said that they didn't feel good enough too start.

Sure, Sabella should have seen this on the trainings. But they themselves never wanted to see it.
The same happened with Veron in 2002. HE later admitted in an interview that he wasn't 100% and should not have played. No shit Sherlock....

There are strikers who not only can match higuain and aguero but surpress them, what do higuain and aguero bring to the team other then miss easy chances and stupid selfies, they shouldn't be near the team as far as I am concerned, how long can people tolerate higuain missing chances and costing argentina trophies, as for aguero he is useless prick who doesn't care about his country, it is time for new blood, tata should give the youngsters a shot and see how they do

Fellas- I must say that having a place to come to and share our love and passion for ARG has helped with the healing. I have been depressed since 7/13 and I'm just coming out of it due to the return of soccer and the realization that life goes on...it just hurt so much...why not us?...when will it happen? Since the highway robbery of 1990--- I have been waiting...and just as I feared...we lost it to the hated Germans.

IMO- the path for Argentina to succeed in 2014 was laid out nice and clean. We never get lucky...and this year we got LUCKY on enemy turf. If we lose to Swiss, Belgium or an over-achieving Holland...we were fluff to begin with..but as you all know..we were never fluff...but as Maradonna mentioned...we never really got going or got firing on all cylinders...Isn't it odd that NOT one game was all that enjoyable..Although we made it to the final...I suffered in each game..past World Cups always had a few games we could enjoy in awe....So what happened?

Sabella- Sabella-- All this heros welcome after the final was well deserved but the truth is...he did a great job of patching up his mistakes along the way..who knows if we would have lost in Game 1 had the path not been so easy...Mistakes at this level and with ARG should not be tolerated.

What were his mistakes: he took an injured Gago..an injured Aguero and an injured Higuain to the WC. OK-- I understand you can't leave Aguero and Higuain behind..so take them to Brazil..but if they do not recover... play the next man up...Why did Alvarez stay on the bench the whole time..wasn't he a Di Maria replacement? Argentina has SOOO MUCH talent that the next man up is a STUD on any other NT..so do not be afraid to call the NEXT MAN...who were they...Lavezzi...poor guy was never given a full 90 minutes although he was clearly superior to Aguero's efforts. As far as Higuain..you can argue that Palacio..a rhythm player..might have been best served with 90 minutes as well. I was so angry at Aguero and Higuain for continuing to take the field when it was obvious that they were not the same players...they were off...why?? BC they were injured.

So Sabella patched up his Gago mistake with Biglia..great substitution..but it was a patch up..Gago looks like a 35 yr old out there...in the Swiss game he could not catch up..that was killing Macherano as he was alone...so he made the change..the OBVIOUS change. Then the Enzo move..also panned out...but we lost a lot offensively...why not Alvarez? or what if we had Banega? So what does this lead to... Since Sabella was so stubborn with his Estudiante players and fixation on Gago and others...he failed to make the best decisions in the heat of the moment...the FINAL.

As you all know..Lows subs panned out and led to the goal...Sabella to out Lavezzi (who was causing trouble) to bring in an injured Aguero...I thought he must be scared of the press saying.."why didn't you play Aguero" or he is stubborn...well I think its both. Had he built his team with the GERMAN philosophy of BEST MAN plays..Tevez would have gone over Augustin (who did not play)..Banega over Gago..and we would have WON the WC. In the heat of the moment...Sabella's subs fell flat and that is were we lost the game. Two tactical failures too many...leave Lavezzi in the game and go for the score with an offensive move that might throw them off or any other move other than a slow/injured Gago and an injured Aguero.

So -- Since I do not think coming in 2nd to the HATED Germans is an consolation...I stopped short of praising Sabella...sure the defense was strong...and he made some good moves in the defensive selection..but most of them (Demi for FF, Biglia for Gago) were to cover up his initial mistakes.

Its time for a new era. What we need is a coach who understands that the NEXT MAN UP in ARG is a STUD. How many good, not in form Germans were left behind? Lots...BC their philosophy is not Player over Country..its Country over ANYONE..Aguero should have said..Coach..."I'm still injured"..but I can understand the selfishness of players that have their dream 90 minutes aways...so what we need is a coach with CONVICTION-- To say...although your jersey says Aguero or Gago or Higuain..you guys are not in form...so its Next Man Up...and only the best inform players should make the final 23...If its true that there isn't dressing room drama...Tevez should have been there...because he was inform...So were Sabella lost it ...was overthinking his moves...thinking he had to have several defensive options and minimal offensive options..and not having the guts to play his tactical options (Lavezzi, Alvarez).

It will take some time for me to forgive Aguero and Higuain..bc I think they lied about their injuries to avoid the Tevez pressure of being cut prior to the final 23...but its the coaches job to weed out the fluff and take/play the best players... I know an injured player is not better than an inform player..its not chess..its checkers...

ARG 2015 and you know I will there (god willing) in 2016..in the USA.

Thanks again fellas---ARG for Life.

I don't support any sharp change in the squad as this breaks the bond and chemistry between players. I want Martino to take time to judge players and then slowly make the changes. Sabella made a great chemistry in defence. I don't expect Martino to disturb that. So, for the first game under Martino, I believe this squad was expected.

Chris: Argentina will play Brazil, Colombia, Honduras and Hong Kong (I believe) later this year..Tata will have time to call up players..I mean he can at least get to know the current players before making a transition..Tata will give new and old players a shot at the national team..You really believe Guys like Demi, Campagrano, Basanta, Palacio, Maxi, and Gago will be around when the 2018 qualifiers start?

Tata is also looking at the short term and that's winning Copa America..Its not even right to start talking about 2018 when we haven't play Copa2015 yet..Nobody knows what condition/form/health Lamela, Icardi, Pastore,Gaitan, Di maria Messi, Aguero, Higgy, Mascherano, Rojo etc will be in 2 - 3 years from now..Lets think about Copa2015..We have Copa 2016 and Olympics 2016..Lets hope our boys qualify for the the next U20 world cup and win it...The youth players will get amply playing time under Tata..

what? this game is far from meaningless, whoever wins this game is the world champion.

and it wasn't the pressure that cost argentina the win, it was the corrupt officiating, i say corrupt, because no referee on the planet would have awarded neuer a free kick after nearly decapitating higuain in the box going for a 50/50 ball.

you know why its called a 50/50 ball. because there are only two outcomes when challenging for a 50/50: a player either wins the ball cleanly or commits a foul.

neuer didn't win the ball cleanly, he almost took higuains head off going for the ball.

this is football, not the nfl.

people said he has a right to protect himself, but what was he protecting himself from, the air?

because he went flying in deliberately with his knee from 5 yards out into higuains head and almost knocked him unconscious.

and the only reason he got to the ball cleanly was because he took out higuain with his knee.

a clear foul.

right now, this world cup is in dispute, in the serious football world, which includes the players, the purity of the sport, this is the real world cup final.

without fifa. without corrupt referees.

real football.

For sure, Martino will call Musacchio,Pastore,Lamela,Icardi,Iturbe;Kranevietter. He need to build a long term project team with high potential youth players for WC 2018,Learn from Sabella's weakness in strenghtening the bench from the beginning and not giving a chance for others deserved well played players

Chris: yes now should have been some new players in the team but again we reward the failure of some of them.

this is a wasted chance to try some other options as time quickly moves on to the copa starting june 11 2015.

remember fifa only gives n/t 7 friendlies per year and we have just wasted one of them.

and when argentina beats them, the germans can hold onto the cup for us for the next four years.

Most of these guys should be nowhere near the team. As I have stated in multiple posts it's time to bring new guys, old or not this cycle is over...

I suspect Martino will lack the courage to jettison some of these players until we lose and underperform and he starts feeling some pressure. That's how these things work in Argentina. I think Rojo dimaria and messi are important, but everything else should be open to competition, and we need to give others a chance to succeed where these guys have failed through multiple chances.

Lining up the same guys is a BAD call. Let's reward them for their pathetic performance on the biggest stage.

I saw Higuain score against Athleti today. You should have seen the effort and passion on his face. Would have been nice if some of that was present during the World Cup. He beat three defenders with a great shot. It's funny to me how when they suck with the NT its because they aren't getting "service" from the midfielders but they have no problem demonstrating individual brilliance for their club teams.

my wild card strikers from (2 would be picked to make the squad 23)
