Lucas BIGLIA agent confirms Madrid interest

The Spanish media is linking Lucas BIGLIA to Real Madrid. Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Madrid are willing to pay 15 million to Lazio for BIGLIA. BIGLIA's agent, Enzo MONTEPAONE had this to say:

"If Real has contacted us? Yes, it's true. We'll see what happens."

Don't think it's a bad idea to go there if Khedira leaves for Arsenal. They have Modric, Xabi Alonso, Di Maria, Illarramendi and Khedira in the midfield for 3 places. Now they just spent huge money on Kroos who will certainly take Modric's place as the central/right midfielder, which means Di Maria will have to compete with Modric and Khedira for the role of box-2-box midfielder. For the number 6 position, Biglia need to compete with 3 other players(including 2 world-cup champions, Xabi, starting to get old, and Khedira, known for his versatility, can play in this role too). Comparing to them, Biglia may be less creative and technique, but much more defensive and stronger in the tough physical contacts, his profile may actually be a better fit for this squad as he allows to give a better balance in the midfield.

I think it's good to have a try, ideally having Kroos-Biglia-Di Maria in the midfield, behind the trio Ronaldo-James Rodriguez or Benzema-Bale

Madrid is a graveyard for hard working players that dont sell tshirts. Stay in Italy Lucas! Or join a team like Athletico where they will appreciate you.

Transfers I really would wish to happen:
(1). Biglia to Arsenal - Not because I'm a gunner but English need to know our strength in DM.
(2). Pastore to Valencia - Ever since I saw Aimar in their jersey, I can't stop following them.
(3). Perez to Man.U - Again I'm not red, but he can showcase his ability to a better market.
(4).Rojo to Barca - A paid Rojo lover here( :-) ). Show me some CB with more pace than Rojo.Could be placed in a 3 man defense wonderfully.
(5).Basanta to Barca - Barca board can fcuk-off.Really are you looking for someone to replace Abidal???What about having an upgrade to him?

Biglia is my favorite midfielder now out of all midfielders in the world. He was a beast- him and Mascherano in the final game. Biglia is a true classic Argentine player.

Messi Jail time??? Not in a million years, another pathetic attempt to distract messi just before the season about to start. Hell, Messi himself wasn't one bit worried, nice try though.

It's funny when media says that tax will be a distraction for Messi! what else do you think is a distraction for him? checking his emails every ten minutes, web surfing, play station, drugs...? he's a pro and he will handle this like one! he'll be as focused on the task in hand as ever! this won't be the first time there is a bump on the road for him and won't be the last either! to leave his beloved club at a time they are picking up is insane! Messi is the best footballer out there, not a quitter!

Spain are doing this on purpose because messi never played for them instead he choose Argentina , I bet the Spanish FA has role in this, messi should leave Spain, this tax cad is going to have big impact the way he performs this and messi will under perform unless this tax issue gets resolved

Argentina have got a Copa next year to play in without messi the team will under perform

Bad news

According to reports in Argentina the acting AFA president is going to nominate Julio's son to the AFA committee for AFA president in October elections, the strong AFA committee is most likely to accept that nomination.

The Mafia continues to dominate AFA.

Very bad news indeed

A bit off topic from the biglia headline...

Regarding the next generation of players that are coming...

I think we will see a surprising array of players that will surface before 2018 comes around... I know we are keeping a close eye on players we are already aware of like, Chucky, Iturbe, Icardi, Paredes, De Paul, Ocampos, Vietto, Lanzini, Kranevitter, Tagliafico, battaglia, Correa, Zuculini and so on... But don't be shocked to hear of players catching form and blooming a little later...

like in 2006 when the World Cup was over... i remember there were lots of talk about two Players that were MAJOR Prodigies...

- Lucas Trecarichi... (he was considered the future playmaker... There was so much hype about him everywhere... but it never panned out)

- Leandro Depetris... (he was signed By AC milan when he was 11! He was 17 in 2006 and many of US thought he was going to be the next big thing... but never panned out...

Even Juan Torres was thought to have a future for Argentina post the 06 world cup...

However, one player we never really thought about was Gonzalo Higuain... No one even really paid attention till he scored two goals in the Classico and he became the hottest prospect in world football... and he forced his way to the 2010 WC...

Even the likes of Di Maria were never really thought of as a prospect for the 2010 world cup... till the 07 tournament and the 08 olympic...

I say all of that to say, We really need to get in the youth world cup and the olympics... I see them just as VITAL as the two COPAS we have coming!. Secondly, don't be surprised to hear names like Simeone Giovani come in two years... :)

Vamos Argentina!

Looks like the Musacchio deal is almost done... here is what Villareal coach Marcelino said today,

"Things will change quite a lot [for this team]. The quality and level of [Musacchio] will make it difficult to find a replacement.

"It's always more complicated to adapt the team to a new defender than to a forward or midfielder [and] it's not easy, at this level, to find a new defender. It won't be easy [to replace him] but the solution, for better or worse, will be found soon."

"Mateo is a very important player for Villarreal," he added. "He's an excellent player and will be a difficult loss to cover, especially as he plays in a tough position to reinforce."

I will look forward to watching our Trio of Argentines in white hart lane!

I think it is a smart move from Real. For 15M they get the best player for that position. They don't have that much true DM. Modric and Kroos are creative players, Khedira is more like a box to box player. The only true DM they have is X. Alonso and he is getting old. And the great thing is that Biglia can play DM and box to box too. He is versatile, can run a lot, a true BEAST. If he goes there, he will be crucial for them, especially in the later stages of the season.

You know the sad thing is that Madrid has a real need (see what I did there! :) for a player like Biglia, a non fancy, no nonsense warrior who will run all day long (ran an average of 15.3 km in the WC!) and will sacrifice life and limb for the team (remember how he was willing to put off his shoulder surgery just to play for the albicelestes).
Essentially someone who would balance out the finesse and creativity of the likes of Mordric and Alonzo but this is Real we're talking about here, where the Galactico of the moment >>> skill, grit and sacrifice.

I will half sarcastically say that if Lucas does go to Real he'll be guaranteed alot of bench time, which means he'll be fresh when playing for the NT, so that is something I suppose.
