The most ideal situation would be for Simeone to build up a contingent of argentines in midfield at Atletico who could seamlessly shift into the NT. That had been our most lacking department in terms of fluency.

I hope DiMaria can choose a team that includes one of the other fab4.

A team playing as individuals instead of a team should fall a 100% on the manager's shoulders and nobody else because kids will always be kids.

ARGENTINA lost the WC because our biggest assets worked against the team and not because of the mighty Germans.
The Germans were LUCKY to say the least, they came at us with EVERYTHING they got minus Kadiera and ONLY managed to score 1 goal in EXTRA TIME.

We had our chances and failed to convert and that had nothing to do with the opponent.

All disappointments aside, ARG did very well and should continue to BUILD on what they accomplished.

Well the new generation is even worse in this aspect. Not only they are utterly arrogant, but on the top of that, they're less talented than their predecessors. It is a recipe of a disaster.

Sabella 2015 - 2018>

That game was a u21 Germany against an u19 Argentina... and not the most brilliant one led by the incompetent Marcelo Trobbiani who utterly failed to a couple month later to lead the u20 team to the youth WC.

" don't play as a team.."
very true, it seems to be a problem with the next generation they all want to be the stars by them selves and they forget they are a team or supposed to be one.
time for sabella or d.s to kick some ass.

Before the friendly game between Germany and Argentina back in 2012, we had a U21 game between Germany and Argentina few days before the senior game and as I can remember, the Argie U21 lost by 6 or 7 - 2 (correct me if I'm wrong with the scoreline) to the German U21 and yes Iturbe was apart of that game..What I notice with the Argentina U21 players in the game was that they were all playing as individuals while the U21 Germans were playing as a team..Even with the defeat the commentators said Argentina had the better players but they don't play as a team..

Our young players have too much star mentality and lacking good team spirit..Everyone wants to be Maradona; everyone wants to be Messi etc..

this is always our problem of we must win all friendlies where as other teams like the krauts use them as training runs to try new players and tactics, I have said this before we should be doing the same but we don't.

It hurts alot when we beat the Germans in friendlies...
but we are all hurt...i still feel sick to my stomach about that final.

I won't see its a waste of time...we have a unique silver lining here PEOPLE....before the next world cup
Argentina has 2 Copa America's that is very VERY good preparation by the time the next world cup comes around.
Its going to be in Europe and Argentina as a team would have played together WAY more than the Euro based teams.

I hope we win the 2 Copa's because i think that's whats missing to get over that hurdle we have.
As an Argentina emotional fan this friendly is painful to watch seeing how easily we beat them in last 2 friendlies...but as a coach (which is what i am) this is exactly what we need.

The psychological impact of losing so many finals in the last 10 years does takes it toll....we have to break that in these Copa America's

Argentina will probably win that match again. It's getting kinda ridiculous we keep winning these pointless matches against Germans while losing the important ones. 3 consecutive WC eliminations in the hands of Germans. Disappointing...

Sad to say. Nowadays when I see that Aguero goal against QPR and the celebrations, I just bow my head down. Still the pain is more deep. Aguero, Higuain, Palacio, Gago how how they can go down in such a way. Even if we win Russia'18 the pain will be forever. Why don't Maria go to Man Utd and play only in leagues and keep fit for next copa. Why he want to play champions league. He is not ready to skip one edition of Champions league. He will be running all the year, may be win the title with PSG and will be injured when copa starts. Still the pain of seeing Maria not playing the final is more deeper than the final loss itself. Life goes on with all the pain and despair..

Don't see your point really. Let's see how long will it take for Garay to ask for a move away from Russia.

Well,, Garay is at the best place possible and that's Russia, the host of the next world cup..Garay is a world class defender and he's also a very establish one..Garay going to Zenit wont affect his football ability because he got load of experience unlike Ansaldi who is yet to kick start is footballing career in a big way...We put too much emphasis on so call BIG clubs..Garay played for Real Madrid and it was Benfica that put him on the map not Real Madrid.

Good move!
For me, Augusto Fernandes because not help anything the cast , Footbally speaking, should leave, Ansaldi case make a good season should go to his place or even Campagnaro, age already weighed.
E. Insua might be going to Benfica.

Sabella 2015 - 2018> Why?? None of the current crop of players from Boca and River are worth the NT. The only players i could see in a quite far future making the NT would Luciano Acosta (Boca) and Matias Kranevitter (River). Here's the thing, Luciano Acosta, while a fine and exquisite player has one big problem in modern football... he's a dwarf (under 1.60m). Kranevitter is a very fine project of defensive midfielder but... he's not yet a regular starter. The rest is either average local players or foreign.

Can we reduce news about players transfer between clubs? I don't consider players unless they do something tangible for the NT. Higuain, Aguero, Lavezzi, etc....big names in the football world, but I can't remember an imprinted legacy for them with Argentina that can become a moment of brilliance in the history books.

Also, I don't see there's a point for our friendly game vs. Germany.....we just played them and failed to win.....so if we win by a big margin this time, it would be meaningless, no one will ever remember it.
