#ARG Starting Line Up

Here is the starting line up for Argentina today. Pretty much as expected,  Alejandro SABELLA has opted for a 4-3-3 formation.

Marcos ROJO returns and Enzo PEREZ comes in as Angel DI MARIA replacement.

Sergio ROMERO; Pablo ZABALETA, Martin DEMICHELIS, Ezequiel GARAY, Marcos ROJO; Javier MASCHERANO, Lucas BIGLIA, Enzo PEREZ; Ezequiel LAVEZZI, Lionel MESSI and Gonzalo HIGUAIN

Further news is that the team will also wear a black armband in honour or Alfredo DE STEFANO.

Alright guys, good luck and all the best. Enjoy the game wherever your watching from.

VAMOS ARGENTINA!

I told myself that i wasn't going to visit mundo at all during the world cup because i couldnt handle the negativity and the double defeat if we were to lose. But obviously i couldn't resist and i love how a lot of the people here whom i assumed were secret brazillian fans, although still have that pessimistic tone about them really have suffered as i have suffered. It really is a joy to see how so many people from all over the world can appreciate this Gorgeously arrogantly toned country of Argentina, that we have suffered for so long with some of the best players in history not having won a world cup or even going past the quarters. Well as much as this means to all of those Argentinians out there it honestly is really refreshing to see that so many Non Argentinians can feel the same way and have the same passion. I've had my fair share of dis agreements but i truly appreciate every one's opinion and i Love Mundo. But most Importantly VAMOS ARGENTINA, BRAZIL DECIME QUE SE SIENTE!!!

Yes we hold the possession , but i love to see more fluidity in attack too.
More attacks will surely shamble german defense.

i hope dimaria is fit other wise perez can do decent job too, but his one on one with messi need to improve.

And about aguero , this guy is in shadow , he get in to the field to create the space for messi or make him self available because of tight marking on messi. i dont want him to in sub either.

We need to score from set pieces for thrashing Germany. Sabella aced it with the defense issues. This old man deserves respect.

What a night...

To all my friends from the argie blog,

We're in final.

We made it. The fans made it. The PLAYERS made it. They build their team. On their own. Like I hoped in 2010. We needed 5 pathetic games to reach that level when other nations had 4 years. We are the best by far.

Yes, Argentina will win WC if it defends with 8+ players, like I've always said. Only 1 game remains now.

For some reasons, we were lucky but we deserved it.

There is something that I started to feel against Switzerland (the gol then the post). That "something" never stopped growing since then. It's called destiny.

We have the same kind of luck that France had in 1998, for example. The luck of the Champions.

I'm a perfectionnist and I know I've been hard with Basile, Maradona, Batista and now Sabella. But I was right. Thank you 4-4-2 and never change the easiest system to apply. Sabella managed to finally connect to the group thanks to one link... and you who that is.

There are many reasons why we're here. The principal one is Jefecito. MASCHERANO is my hero. He's our soul, our coach. Yesterday, he connected everyone tactically. It's clear that he has suffered in 2007 and 2010. I saw his screams from my mouth yesterday.

Mascherano remembers that we were excellent in WC 2010 with the 4-4-2 until Maradona & his friend Tevez wasted everything with 4-3-1-2 by getting us exposed.

Yesterday, Mascherano was giving shit to Lavezzi, Biglia, everyone... He wanted to stay compact. I repeat, he is the reason why we're still here.

Argentina has the most corrupted federation which leads to unpreparation and improvisation (example: Micho's presence after starting Fernandez at every single game during 3 years).

But I'm not going to complain anymore because Mascherano is here to do my "job". What a relief to know that Mascherano is there.

You know I've always supported Romero and Micho. I'm so happy for them. Romero saved our asses in 2010, he won't stop now. Micho arrived in Brazil by miracle and here he is, shining because protected by a protective line in front of him (unlike 2010 when Otamendi and him were in hell).

Now revenge against Germany for 1990 (!!!) and 2006 (!!!). Lets retain the lesson of 2010 and apply it with our 4-4-2.

It's a symbol: the prepared against the unprepared.
We'll see if the argie talent is enough. I think we'll play far better than against Holland in terms of possession.

The mutation since Belgium is unbelievable.

A team is born, not esthetic, but with the mafiosi on our back, we do what we can.

Now one can stop us, the futbol gods are with us.

Congrats to everyone, the pessimistic, the optimistic, the pragmatic, the true fans, the gringos from all over the world, the Sabella fans, the Basile fans, the Batista fans, the Maradona fans, the psychos, the brains, ... No need to argue anymore, we're in final.

VAMOVAMOSSS ARGENTINAAA!!!

GRACIAS JEFECITO!!!

i think yesterday's games proved once and for all that we are world class.. i was impressed with the boys play..sabellas tactics were amazing.. i expected a lot from Holland but we held our own period..we brought football to the table...now this is Argentina...

my wish: if you watched the 1990 final...and saw Maradona cry...tell me that didnt touch you..now my wish is for Argentina to give us that revenge..i have waited 24 years for this...im not taking away anything from german they are an amazing team..but no man enough is enough..they knocked us out in 90,2006 and 2010... GIVE ME THIS ONE BOYS...

It's simply, turning the other way around, what should've been our weakness, standout as our strengths. Our solid defending system took us there + a superman between the bars.

If Argentina's attacking force gets back to its shape, what a heel of a squad it'd turn out to be!

We are all happy and grateful to the heroes we have in the team.

And I can say " THE SOUL OF CHE IS READY TO DESTROY THE ARROGANCE OF HITLER"

VAMOS ARGENTINA CARAJO

How I enjoy being Argentina fan right now. In Estonia, there are not lot Argentina fans in here (only little kids, who admire Messi). But there are A LOT of Brazil, England, Holland and Germany fans.

Argentina has reached final and all my friends are trash-talking that Argentina is not impressive, is boring, Germany will trash them and blablabla. Well, I enjoy this situation and answer that Argentina hasn't concede a goal in play-off round. I also say, that Argentina's boring game is because opponents don't let them play, yet opponents also never dominate games.

Johnny!!!! Thank you for the kind words and welcome back man! I'm really glad that you and Leandro have heeded my pleas, this board just ain't the same without you 2.

I see many of you are asking about Dimaria's chances of playing and while I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I highly doubt that Dimaria will start (let alone play at all!).
I used to do competitive running in university and as I doctor I see my fair share of muscle tears and injuries and even the a mild tear like the one that Dimaria has takes a little while to heal properly.
Usually a period of about 2 weeks of rest is required, this is then followed an equal period of light training to gradually bring one's fitness up to speed.
The thing that people forget that even if the muscle heals it needs time to get back to it's former state so even if Angel does play he'll be at 70% capacity at best.
For me personally the final is going to be a battle against a team of an equal quality and a clearly superior physicality (due to their extra day's rest and joke of a match against an even bigger joke of a brazilian team) so having a partially fit Dimaria could be very costly especially since he wasn't at his best even when he was fit.

Do keep in mind that everybody (and especially doctors) likes to think that they know it all and the reality is they (or I should say we) don't.
Maradona was told after he broke his ankle in Bilbao that he would never play football again only to be back in monster mode after a mere 6 weeks.
Another fine example is Suarez who barely had any time to recover from arthroscopic surgery only to come back and bury England and he might've carried Uruguay deeper into the tournament had he not opt to do his best impression of bram Stoker's Dracula.
So it is possible that Dimaria can play in the final and possibly have his best game of the tournament but like I said I'd rather not have a partially fit Dimaria screw up everything this team has built thus far.

"You waited for a mistake or a moment of genius to provide an opportunity. Both came and both went Argentina's way. Palacio was able to steal through the Dutch lines only to produce an error of his own, weakly heading the ball to Jasper Cillessen. Then, Messi showed up. He beat Vlaar, he beat Kuyt, he beat Vlaar again and then he delivered a cross on a plate for substitute Maxi Rodriguez, whose finish bizarrely had all the enthusiasm of a teenager asked to clean up his room"

baker: we created 3 good chances, the hig side net bustr-i so thought it was in, the pal open header that he really should have done better and the maxi half volley he again should have done better with all the time/space he had, after that it was very thin on chances where the dutch created nil.

btw great to see you here Johnny my friend.

Biglia brings good strength and stability to midfield and Perez is a fantastic all round player.

Hats off to sabella hes a tactical genius. He will be preparing for next game now hope he picka the right seleccion and formation.

Hope di maria plays the final.

Watching Perez reminds me a bit Riquelme.

I thought Perez did a excellent job last night. At least he run in three occasions almost like Leo Messi. This guy a real asset for us.

Only problem is he's 28 year of age, so practically he could only play Russia 2018 world cup. After that it will all depends on physical fitness.

There is something very odd and amazing about Argentina in this world cup. I am proud to say that I predicted to my friends (not supporters of argentina *actually haters most likely) that Argentina would keep pulling out wins out of their asses if they had to in this world cup. I said this in response to them belittling our team due to our poor group stage performances against bosnia and iran.

To be fair, Sabella has been class, and messi has done what he's had to do to get us through rough patches... the thing is that even though this was true in the beginning, it has only really been my faith in Argentina that has propelled me forward thinking we could actually win this world cup. Say whatever but, our team continuously looked out of sync, their fluidity seemed lost, Argentina despite results, was not playing like a true champion. This went on and on, and only optimism could really make us fans say that we played well in these matches (including against switzerland, etc).

The true breakthrough finally came yesterday, after we beat the almighty netherlands, I say mighty just to emphasize the fact that we were finally up against a "good" team; something haters loved to throw in my face. After our emotionally overwhelming victory against the Dutch I can confidently say that this has not been luck. Haters have constantly labeled us as lucky because of our small margin victories. Guess what though, it's not lucky that we've done it for 6 games straight (although our semifinals match has to be a proud exception because we played great).

Now, whether you're religious or you simply believe there is something guiding Argentina to victory doesn't matter. Something is making our players and staff shine like no other. We have suffered long and hard during the entire cup yet we have to go down on the scoreline and have not conceded in the knockouts.
Against netherlands messi might have failed to shine, but almost miraculously, our entire team began to play with the fervor and enthusiasm that the crowd had been asking of them since their match against bosnia. We were finally playing the gutsy and tough game from the very start, without subs having to come in to change the tempo. People can say what they want: luck, pure individualism, coaching genius, balls....with every win I am more and more confident that THIS IS OUR WORLD CUP.

I am 18 years old so I have not experienced the glory of any argentine triumph unless you count maxi's goal against mexico in 2006, but even then that doesn't compare plus i was 10. Since turning into a die hard and possibly obsessed fan of my country I have wished to experience what I envy so much about my parents and older relatives: the chance to see Argentina hold up the world cup.

Now that it finally looks like its about to happen I cannot believe it. I have asked for this so many times and my unconditional support for the team, sabella, messi, etc finally looks like its paying off. Even against my at times not-so confident family members I repeatedly said we would win this cup.

The shootout against holland was incredible. I was terrified of penalties since I had never seen Argentina win any EVER. My nerves slowly turned to slight tears of joy combined with incredibly loud screams of pride both times Romero stopped a penalty. The ending was, as Ray Hudson might put it, almost "orgasmic"..I will never forget this match...possibly the only time i have cried from joy in my 18 years. VAMOS ARGENTINA QUE YA CASI SOMOS CAMPEONES CARAJO

Johny,

Nice to see you back with a long post. I shudder to think what would have happened had the Fab4 been all fit and in form. I dont think all four would have been played together tho' in the KO stages, possibly Lavezi wud have been preferred over Kun as a starter to cash on to the better work rate and defensive abilities. But even Fab 3 wud have been great with the Mids (Masche-Biglia) and the current back 4 delivering.

The first WC I followed live on TV was 1986 (I was 13 then) followed by 1990 of course. When your favourite team reaches the first two finals and wins one, naturally you get spoiled. Then of course 5 barren WCs follow (by our standards)even though we had the most fabulous players of that era. Maybe if the first WC I had ever seen was 1994, perhaps 1998-2010 would not have been that disappointing. But all that is past and we are back where we justly belong. Let us savour the moment.

Any news on Di Maria injury?

Yo Elpipita. Nice post.

I haven't posted in a while for obvious reasons, but I thought I would have my say after the grand victory.

I doubt you could find a grittier display of defensive football than Argentina played against Holland. So many heroes on display for Argentina. Everybody worked their butt off. Huge kudos to them all !

Mascherano was immense and played after being close to knocked cold. Zabaleta took as nasty a hit as you'll ever want to see and was still there at RB doing his job. Garay and Demi were on top of things all night. Rojo has turned out to be a real fighter and asset. What a difference a year makes in his development ! Biglia continues to do dirty work in fine fashion. And then Romero, who save for one dribbler he let in early in the WC, has been magnificent.

As for the attack, we are struggling a bit and have since the WC began. The FAB4 has been hit with injuries. Di Maria out and Aguero way off form. Higuain though has rounded into shape and is a threat. Enzo Perez had a very good game last night and I would think will get capped a bunch from here on out. Lavezzi has worked his tail off.

Messi is Messi and was marked out of effectiveness last night, but be aware that the attention he received from de Jong and others cost Holland a lot going forward. Their fear of Messi had a lot to do with their not being able to spring their scary counter attacks.

Sabella ?! He is clearly a wise tactician and a fabulous man manager. This has been in evidence for a long time and is really no surprise.

Let's hope for a victory in the final. It can be done !

After that last game I hope that slowly Mundo will return to "normal". Its been a disgrace for weeks and wasn't a whole lot better going back months.

Total team effort and sabella's master mind put us in final, Messi gave it all and he was well marked by dutch and i never saw messi so excited and emotional.very happy for him and team. Job only half done guys and Sabella & team should start thinking about breaking that german wall and di maria absence is hurting the team & messi, Lavezzi should be replaced by Di maria if he is fit or ricky.

My goodness, how crazy is this game, how beatiful!
For months most of us, including myself, have been thinking how horrible is the choice of Romero, and how Rojo is going to be our worst defense, and how overall our defense sucks.

But man, I am so happy to be wrong. We are in the final. I can't believe it, what Ayala and Zanetti couldn't do, Romero and Demichelis can! Unbelievable.

Whatever happens, this team has given us a lot of pleasure and fun.

Di Maria is not fit so we need to continue with same line up with lavezzi and Perez on the flanks. We don't want allow Germany any space, we won't let them breath and will hit them on the counter, they can't play like holland today so we will get chances, but no aguero please, he should start on the bench, lavezzi tracks back and offers energy, time we get our revenge on the biggest stage in the home of footballing enemy, guys this is destiny I have been saying that for a while

Bravo to the players and the staff! Maschereno and Romeo were monumental! Rojo, Garay, Zabaleta, Biglia and Dimichelis build a wall. It was a very tactical game. Even Van Gaal succeed in freezing Messi, I feel that we still had the game under control until Perez was replaced. Higuain, Perez and Lavezzi showed that in the first half they could assume the responsibilities when Messi is in difficulties.

I was quite worried after replacements of Perez and Higuain. Obviously Aguero still need time to come back and probably not ready for the final. His input is quite limited and I find him hesitated a lot, lack of confidence and very different from the Aguero the goaleader in PL. His pass, controls were all bad. Palaccio and Maxi are more interesting. Maxi gave a lob to Palaccio by the end of the game, if Palaccio took his time, he would have scored.

Hope that Di Maria can come back in time for the final, even as sub, coz he seems to be the only one who can free Messi when Messi has 2-3 defenders on his back. If Di Maria is ok(hope miracle happens), he should play upfront with Messi and Higuain. I would keep Perez-Maschereno-Biglia in the middle. Messi is better when Perez and Di Maria play together. Coz Perez will help to link the defense with the attack and Di Maria will accelerate the game for him.

We can beat GERMANY with both ENZO and DI MARIA on the sides they offer lots in defense in attack my god I think we have found the perfect team. Also Palacio is a hard worker but my god Aguero would have burried that in that is my only concern :)...Biglia and Mascherano is the best CDM this worldcup man what a hero today if it wasn't for him that 90+ minute run would have gone in.

Glad we reached the final and I give credit to sabella and the whole team for the great performance today, injury to aguero and bad performance from gago and others helped the team to finally become a balanced team, I am not worried about Germany and I have full confidence in our team to win the cup, I hope sabella doesn't get tempted and start aguero, we need to continue the same tough line up, I don't know about do Maria but I will definitely continue with Perez in the line up, I want congratulate masch and romero(I doubted romero earlier)for the epic performance today, our team was underrated and dismissed and never given a chance and guess where we are now, let them continue to dismiss our team and we will win the cup, today is the happiest day as argentina fan(I was child in 1986/1990) I hope we win and we will be even more happier

Even though some of u guys are annoying sometimes but I still love this place. We were all in the same boat waiting for this moment...And its not done yet so lets stick together until we win it all. I have always supported Sabella even when ppl were bashing him. without his defensive tactics we wudn have come this far. Thanks for bringing Romero and Rojo...I ve always supported Sabella on this matter...He is the coach not us. Everyone played great today....DiMaria was not there so Messi played deeper and did a great job...Too bad no one put those chances away. Masherano was the best. Prolly my first 10 out of 10 and then Romeroooooo. Vamos Albiceleste.

yes, i am too...have the same feeling as @arg2014, my respect goes to romero. i thought romero did a fine job. he stopped a thunder wesley sneijder penalty kick, that was something, brilliant.
and mascherano too, what a player, he is simply wonderful, brilliant tackles when robben was only inches away to bring netherlands to the final. my heart stop a bit when saw him only one and one with romero, but then mascherano came from out of no where to block his shot, that was simply awesome.
to me, everybody in this team is a hero. they work their ass off. zabaleta protect the backline with his life. sabella make a perfect tactical adjustment after losing di maria.
what a day, salute to argentina team for their awesome spirit last night.
it's the final after 24 years, i couldn't ask for more.
VAMOS ARGENTINA!!!!

Hi guys,
This is my first time here.
I am an avid Argentinean fan and I have to say that I am elated!!!

I am Kenya but have always supported Argentina.

Today, Mascherano was a monster. Great defending!

How about Romero! Great, confident guy.

I think this is our world cup.

Go Argentina. Germany knows it won't have it easy.

I hope Messi lifts the cup.

Finally we made it into the final after 24 years and keep our record intact by winning 5/5 semifinal.

Congratulations to the team specially Sabella who proved everyone wrong including me that he is a worthy manager and more than deserves all the credit for team success.

La puta madre!!!!! We're in the World Cup final!!! This is friggin awesome and amazing.

Vamos Argentina Carrajo!!!!

Masch an Romero saved us today and were man of the match. The block Masch put on Robben in front of goal was a match saver and inspiring.

Let's go muchachos, let redemption prevail against the bloody Germans.

It's our time!!!!

vamos Argentina. That was incredible.
Some guys here thought Robben was like a superhero or something....he was shut our the entire game....the entire game.

With my respect to Sergio Romero who did an amazing job, Sabella was the man of the match. He took his measure tape and calculator for every single move and pass....he was by the touch line giving instruction for every tackle and move. The plan was executed perfectly. I usually have one or two critique, but not this time......I have no concern about anything, everything was measured like a computer lab on the field. I'm glad I have some money saved to celebrate......Reaching the final was fantastic.

Sabella is the coach to stay regardless if we win or lose the finale.....He will be the team manager next world cup too. He played tactics against the minds of Fitzfeld, Wilmots, and Van Gal....these are the best coaches in the world cup.....keep that in mind.

P.S. Robben who? Van Persie who? They are sent to the depression space as a reward.

Germany is next: Failed to beat Algeria in regular time and got a goal conceded by them, failed to beat Ghana who couldn't even qualify to 2nd round. Also had a rough time beating USA a team that is below average. France could beat them if they just slowed their tempo. That is Germany......are you guys still scared of them too?

I never get in this debate of Maradona vs Messi but let me take a shot at it! If you want to compare Messi with Maradona, compare him with Maradona in 1990! that's a Diego that had a hard time walking on the field without being fouled every two minutes, let alone scoring! Argentina and Maradona in 1990 were a side that everybody prepared for! In Maradona's own words, he went into the 1986 world cup with everyone talking about Platini, Zico, Lineker, Germans, etc. as the favorites. He himself said that his side was not even mentioned in the list! no one was even thinking of them!

but now Messi is like that hard exam that everybody studies two weeks for! before every world cup game, they prepare for him! they analyze his moves, his path, and everything he might or might not do! He came in this world cup as the favorite to lift it! so do not expect him to go and tear apart a Belgian defense like Diego did in 1986. it's one thing if you're good, but it's another thing if you're good and everyone is waiting for you!

All I can say is warriors...They were warriors. My Argentinean heart is full of emotion and I couldn't hold back my emotion watching Mascherano crying and seeing Zabaletas bloody face. They left their blood on the field and washed it away with their tears of joy. After 24 years we are back in the final where we belong. I don't know what's going to happen on Sunday, I really don't but they battle. That's all
I ever asked for

Ok I promised myself that I would stay away from Mundo until the world cup is finished because the negativity here quickly evolved into trolling and it took away with it the very thing that made this site special!
HOWEVER for such a momentous occasion one has to make an exception.

I write this post with tears still in my eyes even though I haven't cried since my close friend lost his life at only 21yro some 13 years ago!
I feel almost embarrassed to be honest because I'm not an Argentine, I've never been to Argentina and I have no connection to the country yet their Seleccion has clearly occupied a place in my heart, it's inexplicable really!

I'm not gonna bother rating individual performances and instead I will give a single 10 to the TEAM! Because that's what Argentina was today a TEAM, a singular collective devoid of any egos fighting for a singular cause!
After the Iran game I wrote a scathing review of the team's performance citing the lack of heart, and not necessarily the lack of goals, that the team exhibited. I foolishly began to believe that the grit and spirit that the team showed in the qualifiers was a fluke and that this is the same flimsy yet talented Argentine team of past world cups, How wrong was I!

The team's transformations since copa'11 have been nothing short of remarkable.
From the torrid days of Diego and Batista to the tough initial spell under Sabella to to comeback game against Colombia and the subsequent transformation into the efficient, ruthless counterattacking Fantastic 4 led team; by then I thought I had seen everything but no, that was merely the end of the beginning.
In this world cup the albicelestes and Sabella saw their fantastic 4 system break down only for the team to adapt at break neck speed and evolve into the conservative, air tight, gritty 'knife between their teeth' team that Sabella was famous for.

I was so proud of the boys for making it to the semis and I genuinely felt that what ever happened today I would proud of this team and for once hold my head up high for being an Argentine fan.
But now I am even more proud and maintain that what ever happens in the final I will feel vindicated for supporting the albicelestes for the last 20 yrs of my life.

Some parting comments for all the posters here at mundo:

@Kidulthood I want to say that you were right and I was wrong about Marcos Rojo! I didn't even consider giving the kid a chance only for him to come out and make me eat crow, my world and several others things that shall not be mentioned!
Also, you can't leave the board NOW after withering the massive wave of negativity that plagued this site for the last 2 weeks.
I implore you to reconsider your decision.

@johnny, Leandro I extend the same message above to both of you. This site was made by posters like you.

I personally would like to say to everyone here at mundo that YOU GUYS WERE RIGHT AND I WAS WRONG ABOUT GAGO!!!
This world cup has proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is sadly no longer NT material and it really saddens me to say this and I blame his consistent injuries for this decline.
With that being said I am not sorry for supporting Gago all this time because thanks in part to him the fantastic 4 system worked so well in the WCQ and thanks in part to him Messi realized his potential with the NT.
So on behalf of myself and several others I would like to say Gracias Fernando!!!!

Regarding Romero well me, leandro, mafiaoso and few others stood up for the guy and I am so happy that he vindicated Sabella's and our trust. I'd also like to add that his second save was the Maradona goal of the century equivalent of saves!!! Allah u akabar and jesus Christ, even Goccoychia would be envious of that!

Lastly (sorry for the overtly long post) Guys please, PLEASE take it easy on each other and restrain yourselves from name calling, you are all better than this. Our team has shown class so lets continue with the example that they set.

Already argentineans talking trash about Messi like he doesn't play for the shirt, yadda yadda....dumbasses forgot that we wouldn't have made it to the semis without him. He literally was the reason we won the first 4 matches, and was pretty much the reason we won the 5th.

He was marked to death in the match, and he made some pretty good passes to guys who just didn't convert. Sick of the Messi hating.

Guys, you still don't believe me? You think I am joking, right? No...I have been posting this since the Swiss game...nobody seems to care but me...the dream continues!

Once again…
Maradona1986 vs Messi2014
Here is the script written for 1986 and 2014 WC.
- Both scored the goals of the century dribbling from half way line
- Both scored with thier hands
- Both got injured before the WC
- Both signed new contract for thier clubs before the WC
- Both played the WC away from Europe (Mexico and Brazil)
- Both Captained the team with the age of 26/27
- Both played Belgium in the KO stage and won
- Both scored or assisted the winning goals throughout the tournament
- Both played the FINAL against Germany and won the WC.

Perez showed what a quality player he is!Control,skill,pace,passing-all is there! We missed a dynamic midfielder like him for a long time.

Mascherano will be hell of a manager! He has given 200% today,100 % as a player, other 100% as an unofficial assistant of Sabella!

A regular Mundo reader can say how many fights I had with people to protect Romero from their constant bashing. It was worthy for this day.I am happy for Romero.

And finally Sabella! Why he always acts so indifferent when he actually can take some credit? He talks as if he has done nothing, someone else deserves the praise. You rarely see a humble person like Sabella. He is an example!

How funny Van Gal said that he wasn't impressed with Argentina after the belgium's game and that Argentina were playing defensive with 2 banks of four.

Yet today his team played like coward and defending deep and always put 4 guys on Messi. And yet with Messi heavily crowded Argentina were still the better team and had more shots on target than the dutch. It is a fact that the dutch had only one shot on target in the whole 90 minutes and even that came really really late.
