Demichelis Will Start Against Belgium

Just read several reports around the Web and we do have another confirmation from Alejandro SABELLA with regards to the starting line up against Belgium.

Martin DEMICHELIS will start in his first match in this World Cup, replacing Federico FERNANDEZ.  Micho was seen practising with the first team yesterday at the Estadio Nacional de Brasilia.

That would make two changes from the Swiss match, the other being Jose BASANTA coming in for the suspended Marcos ROJO.

For now this will be the starting 11 against Belgium:-

Sergio ROMERO; Pablo ZABALETA, Ezequiel GARAY, Martin DEMICHELIS, José BASANTA; Javier MASCHERANO, Fernando GAGO, Angel DI MARIA; Lionel MESSI, Gonzalo HIGUAIN & Ezequiel LAVEZZI

Why Demichellis, Sabella? Because you believe he knows Belgians in EPL ? Maradona thought the same when he decided to play him thinking he understands the Germans all too well coz of his years in Bundesliga ! Look at the horror that happened that day ! Don't do the same mistake

I strongly believe there should be inclusion of Lucas Biglia in the team coz he will bring the required defensive and passing strength to the midfield - and yes, here is the player who knows the Belgians , he has spent all his years at Anderlecht ! Argentina must play 4-1-3-2 tonight with Biglia and Gago both in and start with FF instead of Demichellis.

I never doubted Rojo, but I was really worried because of Romero. But he has been decent.

Now I have extreme doubt about Demi, but I hope he proves me wrong again. VAMOS ARGENTINA, VAMOS DEMI!

Don't think it's a good idea. Important match like that put Demi in there with all respect to him. And we had to make one change and now two changes in the heart of deffence. I hope it doesn't haunt Sabella or us

I want to know one thing about these fans ..why dont you all convert into football manager?? Your comment sucks because Sabella knows more than you..You were the same people who praised him during his success ..it proves your own inconsistency and inconsistent people does not have any right to talk about reality..

Calm down fellas, its not the line up that scares the most. In fact, what would scare is Sabella's tactical changes in the 2nd half. Having Gago as a starter isn't bad, Enzo and Ricky would be good if introduced during the 2nd half. However, having Micho as a starter is a double edged sword, he could score from a header and secure the win or commit a silly mistake and screw the night, he wasn't even given a chance in the first round, at least he would've been tested.

Fingers crossed,

VAMOS ARGENTINA CARAJO

A russian proverb says:
A pessimist is a well-informed optimist.

I was slightly optimistic for the QF until I read the line-up in the last practice match.

Sabella sure is a sucker for consistency. By keeping Gago and Higuain in the line-up and bringing in Demichelis, we become an even more static team.

I am afraid that without Biglia and Perez in stead of Gago and Higuain we will be outnumbered and outplayed in midfield. I hope I am wrong, but I fear Sabella is not using the right tactic and line-up to beat Belgium.

Best possible scenario is to take a 2 goal lead early on and then bring on Biglia and Perez. It is also a very unlikely scenario...

Damn, I was hoping Sabella would make the right choices.

Folks! I just posted that in good jest, and not to offend anyone. I hope you didn't take it the wrong way!

My policy is simple : no matter the ability of a player, I ALWAYS support them and WANT them to succeed the moment they put on the albiceleste jersey ! That's what it is all about for me!

Demi is good for the game as he played against most of the Belgium players and also he is the partner for company at Manchester City. so its a good move by Sabella.

Its about 2:40 AM here and I see Demi is going to start!

Well, I hope he plays his ass off tomorrow oh wait I mean today.

Reading all the comments about how Brazil played today on other forums and how they used the chop and drop strategy from the sec the game started, bringing James down almost immediately once he got the ball.

I strongly dislike Big Phil, I thought the idiot before him was arrogant but this one is special.

Brazil wants to win the WC by force when in reality they should have been eliminated by Chile.

C'MON ARGENTINA, PLEASE step up in force and make us proud, don't stop until you left the trophy and stick it to every person who badmouthed you in the past 24years, and GOD I know so many of them.

as opponent trying to play defensive with 8 player so argentina should play with 4-4-2 formation because by this way opponent automatcally will get some ball to play or attack then argentina will get space to attack. messi dmaria need space to go they can make 1 goal in 5attack

For too long we have been a quarter final team. We need to change that. It's like a mental barrier! And with Demi in team...certainly the feeling is not healthy!

Pray for our team guys

Inside the Mind of Martin Demichiles ( after he learned he was going to start against Belgium):

- Quietly runs (slowly) into his own room, locks it, and screams "OMG, OMG, OMG! I'm TOTALLY starting this QF bitches" and post a kissy selfie on twitter.

- Reads up Mundo about criticisms on his lack of pace. Hits up Usain Bolt on twitter and DMs him, " Care to help a brother out yo? Any quick tips ?" with a hopeful smiley. Gets blocked by Bolt in the next 2 minutes.

- Runs into Fede Fernandez's room and disses him . Challenges him to a 100 m run. Promptly loses before he screams at Zabaleta to trip Fernandez towards the end.

- Texts Vincent Kompany , " Miss you Kompy....XOXO....NOT !!! :P"

- Watches a scouting tape of Eden Hazard . Pees his pants a little.

- Quietly goes into Fede Fernandez's room again, asks him for forgiveness. Wants to twirl his locks in nervousness but he realizes he doesn't have shit left.

- Goes to Sabella's room, says he is nervous and needs adult diapers. Sabella gives him the death stare.

- Goes to Mascherano and asks Masche if felt like playing CB- which is his true position. Gets the Masche death stare.

- Surfs Mundo again, and finds Kidult has now changed his username to "Martin Demichelis-Speed Demon". Gets encouraged. All is well.

We can't counter attack against Belgium cause they will try to counter attack us.

I am 90% sure they will almost parking the bus against us.

Well I can't blame them for that cause in last 4 games we saw all the four teams tried parking the bus against us and shakle Messi and they did quiet well but in the end extra ordinary genius like messi needed just a moment to open up and he did every single time in last 4 matches and I am sure he will do it again in this match.

Everybody now start taunting and mind games against Argentina.

I just read, Luis Van Gaal said it's easy to face Argentina than Costa Rica cause they are much more equipped and dangerous side to beat.

I don't know whether it is intentional or reality but Argentina definitely catch up some attention of others team.

In this lineup, Sabella going for the lead. So far, this lineup has proven it can start, then adjust as necessary. If we do take it he lead he has options to sub in Biglia and even possibly go 532.

I suppose DiMechilis is there to handle Kompany and Fellaini for corners and free kicks. Mascherano is of not much help there. Fernandez has been beaten one too many times in the air.

Game day, and I still have to remind myself not to expect to see our team from the qualifiers, though there is a part of me that wishes the other Fab3 will wake up so Messi can pull the strings from midfield. It's all about control, grit, and win ugly time.

don't be so obtuse...against belgium which won't defend with 10 men, gago is a must. i'm just only worried about demi at the back. i would prefer if campa took that position. and palacio over lavezzi with higuain upfront. i just wish rojo will be there instead of basanta to help with his hardworking spirit. but i'm all excieted about this match. this is the first time we will see argentina in an open game, so it's not like a pain to watch; iran/swiss matches. this is good for argentina unless belgium be a prick and park the whole brussels infront of the goal.

Do someone else other than me thinks it's a good move?My reasoning:
**1.Half of Belgium players are BPL based.Even though he is slow he had fine moments towards the end of the last season. And played against Hazard,Fellaini,Lukaku,Vertonghen and played along with Kompany and Van Buyten. Well thats called EXPERIENCE.
**2.The communication between Zabaleta and Federico is poor. This have lead to many unbalance in the back-line with Zabaleta and Federico both under performing.Since Zabaleta and Demi plays for same team and already have a good understanding, which makes things better.
**3.But the most important thing is the Garray-Fernandez pair have not worked out.Sincerely I don't know what happened,They even failed to effectively backup. Also a never presented confusion on who to go-who to step back raised. I smell some witch doctor. So Sabella need to take one of them out.
**4.Next question is can Demichelis make a good understanding with Garray. Answer is YES.definitely.I see a lot of similarities in Demi and Luisao.Garray like a matured , cool cultured sweeper like partner(What he got in Santanter and not got in Madrid). Demi fits the bill.
**5. Demi is really good at bringing the ball out of the defense. It is going to be a superb aspect against a high-pitch attacking team like Belgium.
**6.I have been following Demi since his Bayern days(Last few). From that,on his day he could stop Hazard with his right thigh alone.

**Do I have worries.Hell YES.Never make a situation in which Demi is one-on-one with anybody. Demi on a one-on-one situation would gift me a heartattack at any time. Thats why playing Biglia/Perez is a must if Demi starts,to avoid such a situation since Mascherano would be busy in interrupting the opposition game.

Really sorry for the long post.

Wow mr sabella, he made things even worse, the untouchable gago is still there , and Demi will be in the line up, if belguim don't fuck up they got this one, thanks to mr sabella and mr messi becouse he is the one who is keeping gago in the line up and insisting on 4-3-3, after years of hope and this, I am done
