Argentina played with their ultimate 4-3-3 line-up against Nigeria, defeating them 3-2 in the process. Two more goals for Messi, and finally someone else scored: Rojo.
Sergio Aguero had to be substituted towards the end of the first half after picking up a muscular injury and Ezequiel Lavezzi took his place.
In the second half, with Argentina leading 3-2, Sabella decided that Messi had done his job and should be rested to avoid any fatigue or injuries ahead of the next game. Off he came in the 63rd minute, making way for Ricardo Alvarez.
Finally, Lucas Biglia came on to the field in the 90th minute in place of Gonzalo Higuain.
