The Team Has Arrived In Porto Alegre

The entire Argentina squad departed from Belo Horizonte on a charted flight at 6.00 PM local time bound for Porto Alegre, their next destination where they will play against Nigeria.

It is expected that around 100,000 Argentine fans will arrive in the city for this final group match, many without tickets. Already there were around 200 fans that have been waiting to greet the team at their hotel.

As for the team's selection?

Alejandro SABELLA has been keeping quiet about this and as of now, no announcement has been made. There will be a press conference in the afternoon after the team's morning practice session.

Every defender does mistake like that! What I am telling is he can bring the leadership in the team like a John terry or a Thiago Silva.. garay is a good defender but not a leader!! FF is too young! Romero is that kind! So we need someone!! He is not a bad defender either!! he has done very good in the latter half in EPL which is very fast and Dynamic league!! So I feel he should be the man to bring into the team....

Would also love to see Zaba as Mash partner at midfield and Gago further up along with Di maria, messi and Aguero\higuain.. it will bring the balance. We can also Sub gago in the 2nd half and bring on ricky.. The team would be like

--Campa----Demi---Garay--Basanta

-------Zaba----------Mash--------
----Gago----------------Di Maria
----------Messi------------
------------------Higuain

My formation for the Knockouts would be

-------------Romero-----------
Zab----Garay------Basanta-----Rojo
------Enzo-------Masche-----------
----------Gago----------Dimaria-----
---------Messi------Kun/Higuain-----

It can be either Gago/Ricky,.... as Gago has better communication Messi, I prefer Gago there......

ive noticed how alot of people want "favourite" players starting.

everyone wants kun or pipita or gago to start etc yet they are better less commercial players

look at costa rica, players in a crap league yet play as a unit wit no names

kun higuain gago need to be dropped for players in better form and fitness.

this is best for argentina!!!!!

Sa is going to use 4-4-2 in knock out games...its better to test the formation vs nigeria .options are play biglia instead of gago and bring in lavezzi or ricky ..add perez with mache, gago and dimaria..kun must start.. He is a big match player..

we were all happy when Sosa was dropped, in fact a thoughtful decision from the coach. But R. Alvarez nd Enzo Perez, players selected ahead of him and Banega, are yet to play.
Had they been offered a chance to play in the previous 2 matches, the pressure of our midfield players could have been reduced enormously.
I would like Masch to get rest though Messi should play every match and score as much as goals he can.

@pep it is a good team. But I prefer Ricky instead of Augusto as I think Ricky is more creative between the two. And Argentina is seriously in need of creative influence from midfield

Bad to say it bt being an argentine fan i have worse of the feeling.......argentina being the best attacking SIDE WITH internationally high profiled players...lacking dat xtra instinct nd dedication for the blue n white dress dat thery r wearing....no determination for winning no passion no spirit no patriotism.....i litterally cried to see argentina play there two group matches

Bring in biglia or perez for gago n ricky or lavezzi as attacking mid for hig/kun.... Will b more balanced n solid.... The reason why rojo look better than zaba i think he has di maria for link up play at left wing where as no gago or messi is doing that wit zaba.... Zaba has incredible ability to getting behind opposition defence, we need to use that...

I think most of us who are criticising the team is not because they didn't ruin by huge margins, it's in the manner at which they played. They just have moo sense off propose and spirit. Woeful passing, bad crosses, poor dribbles, bad touches. It was excruciating to watch. Frankly, I don't even want to blame the coach because it just seems like it's the players themselves that are not showing the dedication that's needed.

What's frustrating is that these players are excellent week in week out when playing for their clubs. The teams that have shown the desire to play like Ghana, Mexico, Holland, Germany, and Costa Rica have all had a different attitude compared to England, Spain and Argentina.

If our players don't change their attitude and show how much they want to win thistournament we will not get far. And frankly we won't even get knocked out by a si called big team.

Sulav we are lacking leadership in Central Defence!! really Demichelis is a must!! Atleast we should try against nigeria!!
We may also use Zabaleta as CM partner of Mash.. and campa as RB!!

This match is not a practice match we should qualify as group toppers by beating nigeria convincingly.
Team is playing well apart from some mistakes, but they are learning from that and i am sure goals will come.
Sabella should try 4-4-2 formation and use the same in knockuot games.

I want our boys to score past Enyeama he is top 3 goal keepers in this tournament I know if we can score vs him then no keeper has a chance of stopping us. He is 0 goals against 2 teams so far.

wow...i found this somewhere...prediction by one brazillian...so far...he's got 2 wrongs...not sure if he's fake or not...he sent one letter to fifa in 1970, but ignored, of course, who would believe something like that...but really, nobody can predict something like this...it's like this guy sees future.

1974 – germany/holland/poland
1978 – argentina/holland/brazil
1982 – italy/germany/poland
1986 – argentina/germany/france
1990 – germany/argentina/italy
1994 – brazil/italy/sweden
1998 – france/brazil/greece
2002 – brazil/germany/turkey
2006 – italy/germany/france
2010 – germany/france/italy
2014 – argentina/brazil/holland
2018 – brazil/italy/argentina

and so on until 2026.

i suppose most of us have forgotten how good fernandez was during the qualifiers... give him a top striker to mark and the that striker will end up as the flop of the match.. example falcao and dzeko

I am not expecting heavy dedication from our players for this match cause we don't need to.

Things' we need to gain from this match:

1. 3/4 players inclusion from substitute bench for having more match practice

2. Defense with tight and passes the ball more fast and smooth

3. Don't need to try too hard for this match and risking our players leg for injury.

4. Avoid any type of yellow/red card.

5. Be patient, play normally goal will come eventually.

Remember it's all part of the world cup tactics and strategy. We don't need to show anything to anybody. We only need to win the world cup. And we will do it steadily but surely.

check it out, this should be interesting. this time it should be about can messi score and beat enyeama, or can enyeama stop messi again and again and again and again (he stop messi 4 times in 2010)???
we shall see it, messi against enyeama.

We played against two teams which made things very difficult to attack. They defended as a unit and done very well. Now We have to play Nigeria, a team they did not concede yet. They have good defense and very good GK. Things will get even worse as they need a draw to progress. They will give more trouble than Iran and Bosnia. They are very fast physical and counter attacking. All we need is attack from the starting, get an early goal. Then things will come in our way. I want a convincing win and Messi to score. I still have feeling how their GK stopped Messi last time...i need a revenge from Messi. We know how bad we played in the last 2 matches....we can improve a lot...but still..if you analyses matches.. i think Argentina is the only team managed 90 % successful passes...now we have to convert our chances. Vamos Argentina..!

Winning will boost our confidence and team spirit, Target should gain the 3 points from Nigeria match. We had won with a below par performance and it's wake up call for the strikers to shine and show their talents.

I believe Argentina will improve from previous game but it won't be so entertaining cause we already qualified for the next round and just need a point to be top of the group.

May be we will see some changes and players will play more relax way and take this game as a heavy practice session before our 2nd round match.

The score line could be : 1-0 / 2-0 / 2-1 / 2-2 / 1-1
