GARAY Diverts To Germany Instead of Russia
A few weeks ago, we reported that Ezequiel GARAY has signed a deal Zenit St.Petersburg but now it seems like Russian club have jumped to that conclusion too soon.

The latest not so rumors but more or less a done deal (most of it coming from South America) is suggesting the GARAY will be heading to Germany to join Bayern Munich for a reportedly £10 million deal.

Even though he has a £15 million release clause on his contract, it is thought that Benfica have decided to reduce the fee since GARAY has only one year left in his contract.

He is expected to join up with the German champions after the World Cup.

10 days away before the WC kick off.

Let's keep our fingers cross when we play against T&T and Slovenia, too many WC ending injuries in these friendlies.

Sabella is a very very last minute person.

I hope there won't be any surprise. The 3 cuts are expected to be Sosa, Augusto, and Otamendi.

Pradi, can you share the links for the Ted Dumitru interview? I value his opinions highly. He's kind of a Menottista coach, likes Flair players. Although he had a bad spell as coach of South Africa, he's one of the best to work in southern Africa.

Garay should take his time to decide. Many major teams are looking to sign new center backs to replace departing or retiring players(ManU, Barcelona, Inter Milan to name a few). Bayern Munich would be a good move.

Most of the teams going to the WC struggled during the weekend. Germany had a tough time against Cameroon, the Dutch only played well for 15 minutes, Ghana could not create a single chance, Chile went 2-0 behind against Egypt but managed to win etc. Only England (against Peru) and Belgium (against Sweden) booked simple victories and looked ready. Could England cause a surprise and kick Italy or Uruguay out in round 1?

''Chelsea is preparing to offer Atletico Madrid 100 million euros for Diego Costa, Diego Godin and Felipe Luis.''

They need to reform the transfer policy..Its unfair for smaller clubs to compete with these kinds of money..I don't think Simeone would mind getting this 100 million with the money he already got for winning the league and making the UCL final. Simeone will then have money to replace all these players for next season and possible having a better squad..

Carlos Bilardo denied a case of doping at the selection..

''A rumour of doping on the campus of the Argentinean which is concentrated on the grounds of Ezeiza to face Brazil 2014 World Cup was denied today by the Technical Secretary Carlos Bilardo, and Secretary of the national selections, Juan Carlos Crespi.
' Doping know everything, know who is who... have everyone's medical history. FIFA has a medical Committee where all these topics are covered. Here nothing happens ', said Bilardo intending to clear the version that began circulating today in social networks.
On twitter, was made allusion to a footballer of the selected albiceleste evaded control surprise anti-doping he resorted to FIFA on Tuesday late in the housing complex and sports of the AFA. The suspect fell directly on the front of the Paris Saint Germain Ezequiel Lavezzi, who that Tuesday left the grounds of Ezeiza to address a private matter.
'I myself signed exit (of Lavezzi that Tuesday) because he had a personal problem,' argued Crespi, who like Bilardo attended Radio network from the Cidade do Galo (city of the Rooster), the venue having Atlético Mineiro in Belo Horizonte, where the campus which Alejandro Sabella leads established his bunker during the World Cup.
That Tuesday of the pre-selected 26 who are available to Sabella besides Lavezzi the only one who was absent was Angel Di Maria, but the location of the crack of Real Madrid is very clear, since it was granted a special break so just today added to the Group and this measure was taken because he competed until Saturday 24 of the current month-when it was the key to the conquest of the Champions League. Both Lavezzi and Di Maria are soccer players in the utmost confidence to Argentine coach and it is discounted that they form part of the final list of 23 World Cup that later must be formalized next Monday.''

Kid I can understand your dislike for Germany as they are our nemesis for many world cups, they also have weakness in some areas , and they can be beaten , but you should recognize them as one of the top teams at the World Cup and they have a chance to win , I would put them 4th favorite behind brazil, argentina , Spain

Italy and England game is set up to be a tie, I can see it coming from a distance..The game will be played at Manaus Arena, both teams will settle for a point in that first game..

Spain cant score more than two goals and I don't see Spain keeping out the Dutch..BTW what was the scoreline in normal time back in 2010 between the two teams? 0 - 0 before extra time..

el principe: I totally agree with you about Germany and Spain for having several players that have been playing together for long time in NT and on a club level which will be an advantage for them. Spain is mostly Barca + Real Madrid, and Germany is mostly Bayern Munich. Argentina and Brazil players are around the globe.

Let me put it this way. As Danny Green says about Ibaka, "We have appropriate fear on him".

Don't underestimate Germany. We can't act like a bunch of Maradona of 2010 here who underestimated Germany so much.

The core of Germany team (Neuer, Lahm, Boateng, Mertesacker, Khedira, Bastian, Ozil, Podolski, Muller, and Klose) have been playing for longer time than any teams out there...That's 10 players who can possibly still their best starters. They have been playing together longer than Brazil, our Argentina, Italy, England, and the South American teams. Only Spain rival them in that they also maintain pretty much the same core of the team as the 2010 team.

I don't like Germany at all, but I respect them and dare not to underestimate them....even if they had lost 0-10 to Cameroon or 0-30 to Chile.

We need to learn to respect our opponents, not to get carried away, not to get over confident, and we need to be alert at all times.

Btw GO SPURS GO! The humble team has won... set that as an example for us!

Bashing team constantly because of Romania game? Can't remember. I dont care friendly games at all. They are good to watch, but thats all.

My point is, that Germany are big tournament team, and no one can argue this, even German media. Don't make conclusions on friendly games.

2002. WC final, 2006. Semi final, 2010. semi final. Is that enough good facts? :)
And for sure, nowdays Germany are better than 2010., more talented players.
But of course I keep my fingers crossed, that they fail.

Jesus christ, most of you don't get the point. I would love to, that Germany will fail, but they are tournament team. It's freaking pointless to count friendly games.

Let's take Argentina - in recent years, we have played a lot of friendly games against Germany (near 2006, near 2010). We won all the time. But what happend, when it really mattered? Germany has been in semifinals 70% of WC, 70%!!!!!!

Friendly games before WC don't mean anything. Even when we play against Trinidad or Slovenia, it's not important. Even if we lose, there is nothing bad, if we win with great game, e cant be overjoyed. WC IS SOMETHING ELSE!

Is that true about Ribery, I want France to top their group, they will play Germany in the quarters if both win their group.

Where is the great German midfield that some here been talking about? Ozil is a ghost on the pitch, he's like the laziest football player ever..Kroos and Khedira are both making countless of misplace passes..Germany was poor against Chile and tonight again they're poor against Cameroon..They should be winning this game easily in front of there home fans..

I told you guys over and over again that the only teams who can prevent Brazil from going to the final are Colombia and Uruguay..With these teams the battle become personal like a mini Copa America game..

Belgium looking a compact squad. Young players with good skills and great hunger to prove themselves.

I hope both Garay and Gaitan move to Bayern Munich. They would reach their peak over there, especially under Guardiola.

Ever get the feeling that ARGENTINA is almost always talked about as the underdog to whoever opponent they'll play or might play in the future!?

What are they, Chopped liver?

Enough is enough.

Bosnia is a decent team, I am not underestmating them my no means, but two players can't save Bosnia against Argentina...Dzeko is in the form, I don't disagree with that premise, football though is not a one man or two man show.

Not only Džeko. Pjanic was argubly the best player in AS Roma this season, sometimes he has "Messi efct", he can decide games in his own. And Ibicevic is very good striker also. Bosnia is good team!

@DonDappaYouth: Its exactly the same Bosnia team. But it is not the same Dzeko. I have been watching City for the last 6 seasons but I have never seen Dzeko being in better form. I agree that one player cannot carry a team. But what's wrong in being vigilant?

@Amlan didn't we played against Bosnia with an experimental Argentina team last year in the USA? Its basically the same Bosnia team playing today..Argentina will have no problem against Bosnia with there open play..I watch Bosnia vs Ivory Coast and if they play that same way against Argentina then I think they will be in for a route at the Belo Horizonte arena..

Dzeko is in great form. Garay and Fernandez must be extra careful. They can get some info about him from Zaba.

Bayern Munich sent scouts to watch the Europa Cup final in Turin last month..Garay was the main reason Bayern sent Scouts to the final, so I'm not surprise by this news at all..Knowing Pep, I think this is a done deal for sure.

@Garray to Bayern:If this is a true rumor, then the reason is simple,Pep want a Pique in Bayern as well. All of you can say as much crap as you like about Pique,he's the best ball playing centre back in the world. Is a CB with ball playing ability needed is still a problem though. You need to watch Garray of Racing Santanter to know the offensive Garray. Then came Real, where he even took direct free-kicks,and also was a presence in the opposition box.The only reason he was sold was the Mourinho fact(He always want to inherit his own team and also the management).
--If Pep buy Garray he got a lot,a solid CB who could be world class with top level experience,A decent ball playing CB who could bring the ball out of defense,A steady performer on the opposition box with good headers,A reliable man to sit deep to protect the defense without temptation to go forward. These are the direct advantages.
---As indirect, you could play Lahm on his natural position, since I think the only reason Lahm preferred in CDM was the lack of ball playing from the defensive central park.Dante and Boateng is not as technical as Pep needs.
---All are assumptions from my view though...

@JZ4-Vidic will be 33 before the year is out. Hernanes is 29. Nice players, no doubt, but my fear is that Thohir may be in love with "names" rather than relying on some good football men for advise. Many clubs have been down this road before. Going after older "name" players rather than younger players with potential and a future. It can be a recipe for years of disaster.

Erik Thohir is no footballing genius but he is very ambitious, the man just brought Hernanes n Vidict and he is very fond of Argies as well... Lamela is a priority now(if someone buy Ricky n Guarin)

Interesting news on Garay, though I am not sure if the deal is finalized yet. No official word . A refreshing change from the "Garay to Man United" rumours that keep getting posted in websites for the last 375 years.

I doubt the new owner at Inter is smart enough to go after Garay. I hope this owner proves me wrong, but so far he looks like a guy with money and no football brains.
