Ezequiel GARAY to join Zenit

Ezequiel GARAY is very close to signing with Zenit.

Ezequiel GARAY who was being linked to Manchester United since leaving Real Madrid has reportedly left Benfica and will be joining Zenit. GARAY's agent has said that everything should be signed on the weekend. GARAY will join another player from Argentina, Cristian ANSALDI who also plays with the club.

Many of Mundo friends neglect Chile's Strength. They are playing very good football under Jorge Sampoli recently. Look at their result since 2013 and analyze their performance then you will understand how good they are now. Any team even Argentina has to be take care of them.

I am not in love with Chile but the truth that they play good football recently and they are the one surprise team to watch in this WC along with Belgium.

Yeah earlier, our defense made a lot of mistake, but after that, all the chances belong to ours in that game. It was truly the fantastic four in action.

Roy can you upload ''Javier Mascherano ● Ultimate Defensive Skills 2014'' the one from your Twitter page.. :)

Fernandez was also beast in that game away to Chile..If people here want to know how good of a defender Fernandez is, they should re-watch Argentina away game to Chile, the first 25 minutes was absolutely brutal for us..Romero and Federico Fernandez were key in that first 25 minutes of the game..

El principe: I don't know how you can say Chile were lucky and we should have won 9-2. Chile was pressing and dominating against us. Romero made many key saves and had they not been missing a few key players that match, along with all the chances THEY missed, we could have lost 9-2.

Di Maria messed up in the first few minutes, but after that it was all Chile dominating until Messi scored.

el principe The German fans acknowledged they were outplayed by Chile that day..Chile made Kroos and Schweiny look average that day..The goal post and poor finishing are the only reason Germany won by a single goal and wasn't embarrass at home by Chile.

''Jerome Boateng slams Germany fans after the Chile game''

watch this video and see even pundits at ESPN said Chile outplayed Germany..

http://www.espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1739432/jerome-boateng-slams-germany-fans?cc=5901

Again I don't need to watch YouTube clip with Argentina vs Chile..This is not about Argentina vs Chile..

I was not disappointed when Chile lost, I don't like Germany, I don't like any of the elite European teams..You get the drill now? As I said I will not put down the Argentina NT to any other team, likewise I will not talk down Argentina players to any other players especially from Europe!!! There is nothing wrong with Alexis by the way, I am sure Dani Alvez and Messi are great friends but they will be enemies if they should meet at the world cup..If Argentina is playing against Chile at the world cup I am 100% behind Argentina wiping the floor with them..

Greets :)

There is nothing wrong if you believe that Chile will top group B.

What's wrong is when you said that Paraguay and Venezuela gave hard time to Brazil in Copa 2011, so you automatically think that Chile would give Brazil hard time should they meet in the WC.

So I said Brazil of 2011 is different from Brazil 2014. So Paraguay and Venezuela can not be used as a evidence.

Watch the clip again:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8gvmTqraZc

Chile played at home with their best players vs. our Argentina and based on the chances, they should have lost 2-9 at home against us.

Anyway Kidult I remember when Germany beat Chile in friendly, you were the ONLY ONE here who before the game believed that Chile would win against Germany. And when they lost, again you were the ONLY ONE here who complained here how lucky Germany were to beat Chile.

I mean what is that? This is Mundo Albiceleste. IF anyone attacking Argentina or Gonzalo or Zabaleta for example, you defended them. But I don't think you need to defend anything related to Chilean here. I don't give a damn if Chile win or lose against Germany. You sounded as if you were really disappointed when Chile lost.

You notice I only talk about Chile vs other European countries..Of course Argentina is 10X better than Chile..We will defeat Chile if we meet them, that's not my beef, you guys defending the other teams because I said Chile can win group B and possible make a decent run in the tournament.

el principe: I am not saying Brazil did not improved under Scolari but its not as rosy as it looks..Under Scolari Brazil lost to England and Switzerland, tied with England, tied with Chile at home (the home crowd booed Brazil and was chanting ''hola'' every time Chile made a pass), tied with Russia..Don't put too much into the confederation cup, this is a tournament Denmark won and Germany refuse to participate in..USA also made the final of the Confed cup back in 2009..Brazil already peak during the Confed cup that's there problem going into the world cup...Put it this way, the Confed cup is a friendly tournament..You really think Ramos will be taking pks during a game at the world cup like he did against Brazil at the Confed Cup? I doubt it will happen when they're better pk takers on the Spanish team..FIFA design the Confed cup for Brazil to win it..Forlan and Ramos missing pk were all a scheme to have Brazil win the Confed cup..If Brazil had lost the confed cup we wouldn't have had a world cup today because preparation would have been even further back because of riots and demonstration.

I am not a supporter of the Chilean NT and Alexis Sanchez, while guys like you brag about European teams, I support local South American teams to progress at the world cup (what's wrong with me saying Ecuador and Chile can make it out of their groups and progress during the world cup?), this doesn't mean I am supporting all South American teams, I see them doing good in Brazil this summer which is quite possibly given the friendly climate on the South American continent..Chile, Ecuador and Colombia are teams that came along way given that they're not South American power house teams, so of course I want to see them defeating European teams in Brazil this summer..I for one careless what happen to Uruguay and Brazil..

Again how am I defending Chile and Alexis? So if I say Chile will top Group B and you said no, its either Spain or Holland, then it looks to me you're supporting Spain and Holland the same way you're accusing me of supporting Chile because I view them as a dark horse..Remember majority of these Chilean players were at the U20 world cup in Canada when Argentina won it..

@Kidult

Man, sometimes you really need to accept the reality. I know you don't follow football just since 2013, but sometimes you act like it. If you really remember correctly, Brazil team was constantly booed by their own fans before Scolari took over. The players might be the same, but the coach and the team confidence was different.

Scolari took over and they started to win.

You can't compare that team. Just can't. Just like Argentina 2011 and Argentina 2014 is totally different. Argentina 2011 lost at home against Uruguay in the QF despite playing pretty much the same players as Argentina 2014 (starting the fantastic four + Masche and Gago in midfield). Argentina 2014 beat Uruguay with ease at home with the same fantastic four + Masche and Gago 3-0.

The same with Brazil. Before Scolari, Brazil was a joke. Please if you disagree with this. Prove it. I am sure if you already followed football before 2011, you know what I am talking about. Their fans started to believe in their national team only after their victory in 2013 Confed Cup. That was a boost for them.

Anyway Kidult, I notice that you defend Chile or Alexis was too much as if you're a Chilean or you're a fan of both Argentina and Chile. I just tell you, a lot of us would be irritated by that because anytime anyone UNDERESTIMATE YOUR CHILE, you should not defend them like crazy if you admit that you're 100% Argentina fan. Not 50% Argentina fan, 50% other South American countries fans.

Brazil in Copa America is different from today Brazil. It's just like Argentina you know. Argentina Copa America 2011 and Argentina today is different. You can not compare both teams.

Brazil before 2013 was a total joke. Chile would get trashed easily at least by 2-3 goals margin by Brazil.
Just like Sabella's Argentina who beat Chile 3-0 or 4-0 or something at home in WCQ.

Lots of money in Russia and the Ukraine. Not sure this is a great move for him in footballing terms but on a personal level, he'll be securing his future for him and his family for a long while. I can't blame the kid really. Who knows how he grew up, poor or poorer. He'll be playing with Salomon Rondon, Hulk and Cristian Ansaldi as the only South Americans on that team. Since money has started pouring into these two leagues, the Argentines that have tried their luck there have mostly ended up leaving without much glory. Alejandro Dominguez is one of the only exceptions to that with spells at Rubin Kazan and Zenit (UEFA Cup win in 2008). But then again, it's not a high profile league, people aren't clamoring to watch come the weekend (the audience isn't there) and networks aren't going to be willing to air over cash cows like EPL, Serie A and La Liga.

@el principe, I think you're confusing Spartak Moscow with Zenit. Nico Pareja played at Spartak.

I think here is the Garay situation.

Zenit offered money for him last year too and Benfica was ready. Garay refused to go to Russia and stayed in Portugal. He wants to go to a different club. While, we hear lots of rumors from ManU, Juve etc. no one has given an offer. Again its Zenit this year and this time he has to accept as there is only one year left in his contract. I do not think its Garay. There are no other options.

Roy Chile will have Vidal available..For me the South American teams have the advantage over Europe fines..Remember during the 2010 world cup that all South American teams made the quarter final except Chile who were knockout by Brazil in the second round..All I am saying is that this world cup will be dominated by South American teams..On paper Spain would beat Chile by 6 - 0, on Paper France would beat Ecuador by 5 - 0 but in reality the South American teams have the advantage especially Ecuador who most of there players play in South America..I still can see Chile topping group B or Ecuador topping there group..Who knew Paraguay was going to top there group over Italy back in 2010? (I guarantee most of you guys here would have had Italy and Slovenia over Paraguay back in 2010 during the group stage)..Too many here over hyping the European teams..

With the injuries to Vidal and Matias Fernandez, I can't see Chile making it extremely far. If they face Brazil in the second round, it's over for them. Historically, they shit the bed against Brazil.

I think Belgium can cause surprises and go far. They're a really great team. Portugal can go far as well.

Zenit Zenit... Pareja was doing the right thing to get out of there and signed with Sevilla. Garay is moving backwards.

Well other than money (of course, what else), Russia/Ukraine have women that are generally better looking than most other Europeans girls. Maybe that's one of the factors :p

This is not what I would have wanted for Garay but if he wins the world cup with Argentina, then it wouldn't bother me if Garay went and played in the Iranian league..This is yet again rumors..I have heard so many times that Barcelona had secure David Luiz signature, then on another article its saying something different, like Chelsea would offer David Luiz to Bayern if Mandzukic was apart of the deal..So before we jump to conclusion lets just wait and see what happens..I truly don't want to see Garay going to Man United, as much as they have shown interest in Garay for some time now, the club have given the player no confidence whatsoever..I haven't see any moves by Van Gaal to try and get Garay signature lately..United will become Ajaxlite or Feyenoordlite with some Bayern outcast on the team...Whatever makes Garay and his family happy then he should go for it..Garay being a world cup champion with Argentina this summer means more to me than where he will play after this summer..

Garay best options for me are either Juventus or Napoli, just forget about the over hyped BPL for now.

The world cup predictions over the web are so shortsighted with the same teams being floated around..The predictors make it seems like there will be no bumps or surprises along the way..

A) Its a possibility that Spain and Brazil could meet in the second round, Spain can easily be place second in group B. This doesn't mean Spain is a bad team and that on paper Chile and Holland are the better teams, just saying this is one of the possibilities and whoever make these prediction should do it with these same scenarios in mind..So with this scenario either Spain or Brazil would be out in the second round..

B) Italy or Colombia can also meet Spain and knock them out, so again, one of either Italy or Colombia can make the semifinal too.

C) This is another possibility; France or Belgium can meet Germany before the Semifinal..On there day either France or Belgium can beat Germany this summer..

Note: for me this side of the bracket is the hardest in the entire world cup so that's why I spent little time on the Argentina side of the bracket.

So on the Argentina side of the bracket assuming all goes well during the group stage..

knockout teams Argentina could face are: Ecuador or Switzerland.

Quarterfinal teams Argentina could face are: Portugal, Ghana, USA, Russia and, a long shot South Korean team.

This was my earlier semifinal prediction here a while back and I am still sticking with it.

My 4 semifinalist are:

Brazil vs Colombia

Argentina vs France
