Angel DI MARIA might play Lisbon final
Angel DI MARIA has a muscle fatigue and not a tear, which means he might be able to play the final of the Champions League for Real Madrid.

Angel DI MARIA's injury isn't as serious as initialy feared. While he is injured, it's only muscle fatigue. He will not play this weekend for Real Madrid but might be able to play on the last match day of the league and the final of the Champions League.

@elprinciple: Good points , but here nobody have a permanent hate towards any player , i bashed dimaria becuase he was headless chicken in many matches for argentina .
Even we are all bashing romero and sosa for the similar reason , and if they perform well for NT , we all will star praise for him for sure.

Well, I really hope also, that tikitaka will do its comeback, but I doubt it.

But if we talk about Di Maria, I have been always big fan of his. He was great for Benfica, he was great in olympics. I hated only one thing about him, it was his acting and too easy falling (worst than Ronaldo),. But he has grown a lot and I dont see him acting today. So, now he is perfect :)

When no one believed in Angel Di Maria here 2-4 years ago, I did. Di Maria has always been a great talent who I always believed that he will live up the expectation.

2-4 years ago, 99% of Mundo Albiceleste family here (yes including the moderators) despised him. They made fun of him and called him the headless chicken. They would regularly mock him in every podcast. I remember that very well. They assured us that Sosa was a better player and many believed that Tevez was the real star (after Messi).

I strongly disagree.

I was among the 1% defending Di Maria just simply I didn't find him that bad. He was Mundo's number 1 scapegoat in WC 2010. It was super weird considering the ones playing awful vs. Germany was Nico Burdisso and Otamendi.

For me, I don't see Mou as the one changing him as a better player. Di Maria has always had that greatness in him. It is just reaching his potential now.

I remember before Mou coached him, he was a spectacular player of Benfica. He created a fantastic four there with Pablo Aimar, Saviola, and Cardozo and brought Benfica to win the league for the first time in years (Usually Porto would win it) while at the same time playing attractive football. I remember him having 4 assists in one game at Everton (a strong team) in a UEFA cup that made English fans wondered "who is this guy?"

He was always talented, it is just he DID NOT get enough credit from the mundo family.

I also remember when he just arrived at Madrid, he was the MOM in one Madrid game, not CR7. Guess what we posted here? We were talking about Di Maria's diving and cry baby attitude instead of him being the MOM! Shame on us...! It's almost like we were like an English fans watching and criticizing Di Maria.

Kidult said it best. Real Madrid fans are nasty unlike Barca fans. They love to boo their own players. I tell you 2-4 years ago, Mundo Albiceleste family was even nastier than Real Madrid fans when it comes to Di Maria.

“I think there are many players considered the best ever without a World Cup,” Messi said.

“Obviously winning a World Cup is a positive and it would be very special.

“I hope we are in Rio [the site of the final], enjoying the day there, being able to enjoy what is enjoyable about the trip that day.

“Hopefully we can touch that final.

“The truth is I don’t think about it much. I can’t imagine. But I know Brazil will be full of Argentines since it’s so close.

“There is the desire to realize the dreams people have.”

I think what messi told now n sabella told before that the target is semi, are very good things... There is huge criticism already against messi that he is playing now keeping WC in mind... We dnt want to let others feel that we are coming WC wit big preparations, hopes, expectations etc... Going in a composed n normal mindset (atleast infront of others) to WC is de best approach...

Tata Martino & Javier Zanetti - exemplary as humans.... & in their football capacity. Wont find People like them anymore.
.
Zanetti - nobody dislikes him.... Today and forever José Pekerman & Deigo Maradona will regret for not taking him to the respective world cups.
.
Tata Martino - has the guts and is very special enough to say 'Barcelona has the Wright to choose their next'. Who in todays world accept their mistakes or in his case 'all winning expectations'.

I like tiki taka n hope atleast barca will continue playing that... But one thing u said is wrong, in fact this year barca's defensive record is better than pep's treble winning year... After 50 games de case was like that - the goals scored, goals conceded, goal difference all were better this year than that of pep's treble winning era, dnt knw whether it changed after that...

Lets take a moment to praise the CAPITANO Javier Zanetti the legend!

He will play his last match with Inter after 19 years of nonstop hard work and effort in the blue part of Milan!

He should be marked as the best RB in football history, though he played in so many positions in midfield and defense, but he's known as an RB!

He more appreciated in Itlay than Argentina! The arrogant Argentine coaches never gave what he deserved, but I know Sabella, knows very well, who Javier Zanetti is and he should give him a farewell match for his official retirement.

I hope no one exceeds his caps for Argentina, in order to frame his name, holding the most caps for la albiceleste!

A thank you form the heart of every single human Javier. You're the real CAPITANO and will always be!

@Batigol9

Don't think that tiki taka is done. Just because we see 2 bad examples of tiki taka this year does not mean tiki taka is RIP.

Bayern play tiki taka, with the right coach, but not the right players. No one like Messi as false 9 there.

Barca play tiki taka with the right players, but wrong coach. It's not even close to being tiki taka. They just attack brutally with no defense. That's not tiki taka. The real tiki taka will get the fewest goals conceded in one season because they just dominate the ball in full 90 minutes.

Both Barca and Bayern fail I agree. If you ask me, I'd prefer Sabella's/Ancelotti's balanced counter attack tactic. I agree, we need more speed in today's football, but again... When tiki taka is at best, they can outplay any tactic.

I mean Barca dominance before this year and Spain in more than 6 years both play tiki taka. Guess what? Both teams got almost all major trophies out there (World Cup, European Cup, Champions Cup, La Liga, CDR).

If Luis Enrique returns to Barca next year, we'll see the real tiki taka again back in action.

For me tiki taka vs. counter attack is like tai chi/kung fu vs. jiu jut su.

Angel Di Maria on how to be a winger. A good article 2 years ago.

http://performance.fourfourtwo.com/pro-tips/angel-di-maria-on-the-art-of-wing-play

Always be inventive
“When teams are defending deep – ‘parking the bus’ – it’s important to stay relaxed and focus on keeping the ball moving and searching for the gaps. As a winger you have to keep doing what you’re there to do: run at someone, create a chance or draw a foul and deliver a cross into the area for the strikers. For wingers it’s important to try to be inventive: to do something different to beat the defenders and create a chance for your team.”

Drop in when you can
“At Madrid the three forwards always have freedom of movement. We can swap places and look for spaces whenever we want. If you’re out wide, you watch what the others are doing: if one player goes outside, try to drop inside to fill the space. You’re always looking for room. Me, Ronaldo, Benzema, Adebayor – whoever plays, Mourinho asks us to do the same thing: to be mobile and when near the area, to take people on and take our chances.”

Remember: track back
“Mourinho wants us to be aggressive, with and without the ball, so I’ve had to adapt defensively to what he wants from us. I knew if I was going to be in his team that I’d have to run and put my foot in. It’s because of this that I’m playing and getting better. My position is different now [to when I was at Benfica] so my mentality is a bit different. I know the coach wants us to run and pressure but still have ‘air’ left to attack, so I have worked with that in mind.”

Creating chances is key

“Some wingers may be happy with dribbling past a few players but it’s important to remember you’re in the team to make chances for your team-mates. If you can make space for the forwards or play a pass for them to put them one-on-one with the goalkeeper, that’s when you’ve really done your job. Fast wingers can beat defenders. The best wingers make goalscoring chances.”

Accept you’ll get kicked
“At one point this season, I got kicked so often that I got frustrated. But after a while you realise that it’s something you have to endure when you’re dribbling past players. Some kicks I can accept; when it’s one of those that the defender has no choice because otherwise you’re through on goal, that I can understand. But when it’s a foul that’s unnecessary and can really hurt you, that’s still difficult to take.”

Keep evolving
“Every year, you grow in all ways – in a football sense, in a mental sense. And the older you get, the better you understand football; the better you know it. You come to learn things that you did not know before and I’m still trying to evolve now. For example, I’m trying to improve my positional play: when to pressure and when to back off, when to open up the pitch, when to close it. As an attacker, you can’t just be happy to beat players. You want to make an all-round contribution to the team.”

City don't need either one of them. City need a premier centre back, a back up DM to replace Javi Garcia and a RB to rotate a little with Zabaleta, who plays too many minutes. Maybe a back up keeper to replace the Big Fucking Romanian.

I don't want to sound too optimistic, but this is reality. Argentina have got better head to head records against all of the following - 1. France 2. Ecudaor 3. Switzerland 4. Portugal 5. Russia 6. Ghana. Even in present form and squad strength, we are favorites over each of them.

WHICH MEANS THAT... Barring accidents, we should make it to the semifinal of the world cup this time. Which is again a fact. So initial hardwork and business done, it all comes down to 2 matches - the semifinal and the final. So all these talks of Gago being a man of glass or Romero not being the best choice between the posts or Rojo not the ideal leftback, etc etc do not worry me a bit. It's just 180 mins of football and anything can happen there. To be honest, we have enough quality and bench strength to fight out these 180 mins for sure.

The most important thing now would be to pray that all our 23 players arrive in the camp with full fitness. That should be the first stepping stone.

Towards glory.

Like a hopeless dude, chasing a dream in a dead-end zone!

Lamela, is overhyped and can never stand as the real deal for Argentina, there are plenty of talents ahead of him.

He was good with Roma, but not that wonder kid, I know he didn't get a proper chance with Tottenham, but whenever he entered the field, he looked shaky and scared to ask for the ball, even when he played for the NT, he looked lost on the pitch and trying to avoid mistakes. Simply, he doesn't have the confidence to show what he's capable of, if he doubtfully could!

Look at Iturbe with Verona, he way better then Lamela of Roma in a weaker team. Some would say the existence of Totti was an obstacle, I'd say hell no! In fact it helped him more to build self character and strength.
All I can say about the kid is, if he didn't stand up as a man on the pitch and believed in his skills, he'll be forgotten, cause there are hungry boys waiting to grab the beef!

No tiki-taka! Tiki-taka's time is ower, football changes all the time. Real way to play now is to play like Bayern last year, like plays Real (sometimes) and like hopefully plays Argentina :)

Tiki-taka is so predictable. Ok, You can play this style, but you need plan B as well. You can play tiki-taka, if you can also cross (one good strong striker) and when sometimes you shoot as well. This years bayern proved, that even Guardiola can't save Barcelona, if they keep playing like this.

Football needs more speed, more action.

So Inter is going to overhaul with an over the hill, hollow striker and a kid who was hurt most of the year and when fit did next to nothing ? I will agree Lamela has great potential but that means little until it happens.

I don't know how much Inter plan to spend on those two but I wouldn't take Torres for anything over 5mil. A huge gamble that he would return to anything resembling "form". Lamela, $15mil tops and I'd be surprised if Spurs would let him go for 1/2 of what they paid. At least not yet.

Inter Milan are planning a huge overhaul in order to re-establish themselves in Serie A and according to reports in Italy they have earmarked Fernando Torres and Erik Lamela as their priority summer transfers.

Having already confirmed the signing of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that they are trying to take advantage of the uncertain situations of both the Chelsea star and Tottenham's record signing to bolster their attack.

At the same time, Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio confirmed in an interview with Corriere De Lo Sport they will sign Torres if the Chelsea striker "has the desire" to play at the San Siro.

While Ausilio ruled out the possibility of acquiring Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko he admits Torres is a real target.

"Yes, he is a player we're following. Torres's career speaks for itself — the titles he has won and the teams in which he has played. It's all about whether he has the right motivation and the desire to be part of a new ambitious project."

With Chelsea having reportedly agreed terms to sign Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa, Torres is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer having started just 15 Premier League games and scoring four goals this season.

Meanwhile, La Gazzetta Dello Sport reveal that Inter are also planning to bid for the unsettled Lamela.

Spurs made him their club transfer record last summer after paying £30m to Roma following Gareth Bale's departurte to Real Madrid but the 21-year-old forward has failed to make the impact expected. He has started just three Premier League games and spent the second part of the season on the sideline due to injury.

But after scoring 21 goals in 67 games at Roma before his move to North London he maintains a high profile in Italy and Inter are ready to offer him a new chance to prove his worth.

Luis Enrique is set to become Barcelona next coach? For most of you is bad news. For me is GREAT news. I care about Messi and his career for Argentina. I don't really care about the career of Argentina coaches, referee, miss Argentina, Argentina tennis players etc. In order to achieve that, Messi needs to return to his best.

If the Ballon D'or is held again in 1 month, CR7 would easily win it again by LARGE MARGIN. That's not Messi thing to lose.

Luis Enrique is the disciple of Pep. He plays almost the exact same way. He will return to the real tiki taka. If Luis really takes over, I guarantee at least 1 major trophy next season and of course a happier and a more productive Messi.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2014/05/10/4806987/is-luis-enrique-the-right-man-for-barcelona?ICID=HP_HN_1

Here are some of my wild WC dreams. Just for fun.

. Mascherano scores a bicycle kick goal to win the match
. Garay and Fernandez score in a match to win 2-0

. Dimaria scores a 'falling leaf' style free kick goal.
. Gago scores a Messidona goal by running like a bull from the middle and by dribbling 5 or 6 defenders.
. Messi scores a 30+ yards free kick goal with his right foot.
. Banega scores from a bullet header.

. Rojo scores in the final. The only goal came from a cross that somehow bends towards the goal and gets MOM in the final.

If someone is hoping for Atletico to win CL and Liga as Simione is the manager of ATl,should not do so.Simione is not going to be the manager after WC'14.He definitely has the dream of coaching Arg one day,but not now.He clearly want to establish himself at Europe as a club manager. He can not risk his promising club career for uncertain AFA job.If he is proposed to take this job,I think he will say-"I too young"

I hope that Barca will win la liga and Real to win CL.That will boost Messi and will give confidence to di maria. They are our present,Simione is the one for future.

Those people in Buenos Aires want Tevez to be called up because he grew up and escaped the crappy area of the country and not like Messi who disappeared to Europe before he ever started playing in Argentina. They don't care that he hasn't played for the team in 3 years, or that he doesn't fit. Those are likely the same people that get violent in football matches. Screw them. Tevez is not needd.

Well, Messi will have a tough period for the upcoming days. He has to convince. In fact, he has to carry his team up on his shoulders to win the league and save the reputation of FCB.

In my point of view, winning la liga would be a mental boost for him and would change his overall form of the season. He needs it before joining Sabella's fleet!

There you got it boy, its all yours!

@Good post madaDON , seconded!
When we normally play Di Maria- Messi- Aguero- Higuain, it's a bit different than how Madrid utilizes the Di Maria- Ronaldo- Bale - Benzema. Aguero and Messi are more comfy through the center or cutting in, as opposed to Ronaldo and Bale - who very often play pure wing.

This is why when we play against teams with good RB and LB who defend well , we might see someone like Di Maria playing more wing on the left , and Zabaleta pushing way up to support on the right side so that we stretch their defense horizontally. Messi drops back centrally, and Aguero keeps roving to the left or right, to let them exploit his movement. Otherwise, the LB and RB of the opposition would play tighter and closer to the CBs which makes it a little tougher for Messi, Higuain, Aguero to find a way through intricate passing . (Think Romania game).

Regarding Modric Gago comparison.
Gago was never a flop or underachieved anywhere he went. Did anybody remember Real winning two la liga just before the pep era.The main deference between them is not athleticism as you people mentioned. I think it's mental strength.
Th problem started at the very start when he choosed Real as his first European club. There is a problem with such clubs, the expectations, that will be ridiculous. Starting ok he became good under Capello and Schuster, especially Schuster. But after that injury concerns started. In Real once you are an outsider due to any reason, then you are always an outsider. That affected his mental strength, The fall from top to bottom is a damn f*****g feeling. Some may relieve, others never will. Thats big if then... Anyway I feel for Gago, and I truely believe an all hailing all bowing performance in this worldcup will restore his pride and confidence.I wanna see Gago on those posts again with a DiCaprio esque smile in his face and Worldcup in the background...

not only are many here getting the argentina formation wrong there also trying to compare to real madrids team and tactics AGAIN WRONG...

real play two wingers and a center forward ,argentina play two strikers and a playmaker-fake 9....

real madrid play a holding midfielder come ball player a playmaker and a playmaker winger

theres no out and out dm theres no second defensive midfielder theres two attackers and a deep passer...

argentina play a true DM a second DM come range passer and a AM-winger in dimaria GAGO PLAYS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MASCHARONO being like madric is compleatly stupid as there totally differant systems

argentina plays 4-3-1-2 two defensive midfield one attacker gago is a deep playing alono type player its gago playing the alonso role not mascherano

I'm patiently waiting for Sabella's WC list. I'm assuming, like Sabella said, he will call most of the player's that was called from the Romania game, hopefully Peruzzi will be included.

Besides that, I think all of our player's are going to be healthy, even Gago.

Ys, datz de issue... What we people can do is jst comment our thoughts here... Bt its a truth that athletism has some role in football... I believe argentina n brazil is produced best natural footballers, bt brazil has more successes in world stage than us, in that athletism n mental strength has a good role... The recent acheivements of african countries also is an example for that...

Exactly... I was saying this for long time... Actually so many guys... I m a great fan of gago, i like his style on ball very very much... Bt to win wc we shud act using brain than emotions... As el principe said while watching real madrid games we can really see what a huge role is de mid field of di maria-alonso-modric is doing... They r de most vital part de heart beat of RM... We hav got di maria himself wit us n i take masche over alonso because of pace n strength... Bt gago... He has de quality on ball n passing range better than modric, bt his physical stength, stamina, defensive capability all r not de best... Having 3 who wont contribute much to defence upfront we need some one like biglia or perez there...

The game of Bayern vs. Real Madrid where Madrid won emphatically 4-0 was a great example of our counter attack tactic in perfection. That Madrid team that night was virtually almost impossible to beat.

That game alone shows that we do not need to sacrifice any of the fantastic four or change our tactics against big teams as long as the four role is set to defend.

The fantastic four tactic is proven to be strong defensively as long as the forwards role is set to defend. The best offensive team in the world, Bayern did not even have any single clear chance against Madrid.

I re watched the full game of many Argentina games involving the fantastic four lately like vs. Sweden, Germany second half etc. Out of the fantastic four, the one who almost never defend was Lionel Messi. Aguero, Higuain, and especially Di Maria did defend.

So if we are to execute the fantastic four tactic, Messi can't be an AM like most of us think as DEFENSIVELY, he prefers to become false 9, so he'd have less responsibility to defend.

So the one thing that Sabella needs to tell the team is he must tell Aguero and Higuain to defend both wings helping Zaba and Rojo. A team with great wingers and attacking full backs like Portugal (CR7 and Coentrao from the left) or Brazil (Alves and Hulk from the right) might give us hard time if none of our forwards are unwilling to sacrifice themselves to D.

One player we need to have is someone like Luka Modric. Ancelotti once discovered a young player, an AM who was considered "failed to live up the expectation" more than 10 years ago". Carlo then shifted the player to a deep lying playmaker back in Milan years ago. As a result, he was once the best deep lying playmaker in the world, his name is Andrea Pirlo.

Carlo project 2.0 is now Luka Modric. He did exactly the same thing to Luka as he did to Pirlo. A very underrated player in my opinion, for me, he's along with Yaya Toure are the best box to box midfielder in the world today.

That's one thing Argentina don't have. Someone like Luka Modric or Yaya. With all due respect to Gago, he's not close to being as good as Modric. Well I hope he'll prove me wrong in the world cup, but what I am trying to say here is fantastic four needs a player like Modric.

Pachorra@ we won against bosnia some days back without Messi & Pipita. Their not as physical as Nigeria. South american condition is also suitable for them. I remind you at the last world cup we struggled to score against them! But we scored 4 goals against Greece. IMO Bosnia is Greece for us! But obviously Argentina goes far this world cup.

I think taking the unfit Gago is a gamble double down or don't!

Gago will be the double edged sword, based on what we've seen, if Gago is in form the team plays well and if he isn't in his day, the system gets scattered!

Argentina's toughest group stage opponent Nigeria announced their provisional 30 man World Cup squad. Here the list______

Goalkeepers : Vincent Enyeama (Lille/
FRA), Austin Ejide (Hapoel Be'er Sheva/

Daniel Akpeyi (Warri Wolves)

Defenders : Elderson Echiejile

Wolves), Kenneth Omeruo
(Middlesbrough/ENG), Juwon Oshaniwa
(Ashdod FC/ISR), Joseph Yobo (Norwich

Midfielders : Mikel Obi (Chelsea/ ENG),
Ogenyi Onazi (SS Lazio/ITA), Ramon
Azeez (Almeria/SPA), Ejike Uzoenyi
(Enugu Rangers), Gabriel Reuben
(Beveren/BEL), Nosa Igiebor (Real
Betis/SPA), Joel Obi (Parma/ITA),
Michael Uchebo (Cercle Brugge/BEL),
Sunday Mba (CA Bastia/FRA)

Forwards : Ahmed Musa (CSKA
Moscow/RUS), Shola Ameobi
(Newcastle United/ENG), Victor Moses
(Liverpool/ENG), Emmanuel Emenike
(Fenerbahce/TUR), Obinna Nsofor
(Chievo Verona/ ITA), Peter Osaze
Odemwingie (Stoke City/ENG),
Babatunde Michael (Volyn/UKR),
Nnamdi Oduamadi (Varese/ITA), Uche
Nwofor (Heerenveen/NED)

You should notice that most of them played in Europe. Which makes them mentally strong & confident. My only concerned is for their physical ability. This could be dangerous for our injury proned players like Gago,Aguero,Di Maria etc. Our players must carefull when facing them!

That's good news. It's been great watching Di Maria perform so well this season and with both RM and the national team pushing him to grow into a different role and player (ie central midfield at times), he's really matured and kicked some of that "spotty" and inconsistent play.
We need him almost as much as we need the other stars in this team if we want to succeed. Kudos to Sabella and Ancelotti for kicking his ass.

Feno Tartaglia, sporting reporter for Deportes Radio Provincia AM 1270 is reporting via Twitter that Di Maria's injury is, in fact, a very small muscle tear but it's not anything to be overly concerned with. Real Madrid is fully expecting him to be fully fit for the Champions League final.

He is also reporting that Gago has already begun training on the field and with the ball and his recovery is coming along well.

As per FIFA rules, the final 23 players list has to be submitted by each association by no later than 10 days prior to the kickoff of the opening match.

With a lot of doubts over fitness of key players like Di Maria, Gago and Aguero, would it be a bad idea to call 30 players to the camp by 3rd week of May, train together for around 2 weeks and then decide on the final 23 list? I mean since there is no hurry, we can use that extra time and find out the best replacements for them.

Sab is considering biglia as masche replacement n banega as gago's... Bt i wont agree dat masche is card prone, if he is given a mountain of duty of breaking play alone at mid anyone will go over committed... Both diego n sab is overloading him... Partner him wit biglia, he feel very much comfortable n will contribute more to de game... He isn't a non sense performer, he is de one who kept de spot strongly in NT at all pekerman or diego or sab era... If diego gone for 4-1-5, he shud hav had dat much belief on masche...

@Pradi, that's the question I've been asking for a while. Can Gago stay healthy for 3-7 consecutive matches? I find it hard to believe he'll be able to since his form for his club seems constantly interrupted by injuries but I do hope he can. Teddy said below that he featured for Boca for 7 games in a row but that's most likely playing once a week since Boca did not qualify for Copa Libertadores. During the World Cup he has 6 days rest after the opener vs. Bosnia-Herz which is good but only 4 days rest after the match against Iran. It may not matter, however, if we have already won the first two, Sabella could rest him for the match vs. Nigeria. Just a thought.

We shall see...

Pinto(no choice lol)
Adriano BArtra Pique Alba
Busquets Mascherano
D. Alvez Messi Iniesta
Alexis.
not only will Alexis take some pressure of Messi through centerbacks but Mascherano will be able to help extra in defence.

@Mafioso. But he did play great for Argentina during the WC qualifiers in spite of his poor club form and injury-plagued season which is why he was chosen in the first place to be the RM in Sabella's system. All that matters is if Gago can play 7 games in a row between mid June and mid July. He has played 7 games in a row for Boca this season already so Im holding out hope.

Mafioso, I don't know why you ruled out Gago since Sabella himself said he expects him to be fully fit to play in the WC(remember it is only a grade 2 knee sprain). As for the rest of your comments you are 90 percent correct. Messi and Di Maria are the only ones on the team that can break down any defense and create scoring opportunities for the forwards. And if you can't do that against the best teams then you can't win a WC plain and simple. Thus di Maria and Messi are the only 2 irreplaceable players.

@Alkan

That squad is very likely the final 22 rosters. One name is not mentioned. It is said to be Augusto Fernandez, but we'll see. But those 22 will surely make it.

I think the last name is for Augusto vs. Lamela or the 6th striker vs. Peruzzi or Lisandro Lopez (defender).

No I will NOT mention the useless Sosa! I said it before, I see no reason why Sosa suddenly is ahead of Augusto Fernandez in the pecking order. Only you guys make it as if the reality.

1. Augusto is a key player for the 8th place Celta Vigo, the most improved team in la liga unlike Sosa who played a lot of garbage minutes ala Cory Joseph of San Antonio Spurs.

2. Augusto did get some minutes off the bench in a few games for Argentina unlike Sosa who was called lately but got 0 minutes.

It is just in Mundo Albiceleste family that we think Sosa is ahead of other candidates.

I can imagine winning WC without Messi, but not without Di Maria, considering Gago is pretty much out of the picture. You can win the WC without the best player, but not without a creative and compact midfield. For Gago, there Biglia who is proven. But for Di maria, there no one.If Messi is the magic,Di Maria is best reality we have right now.And tricks of magic is always done with the backing of reality.

One poster said in another thread that he wants Real to loose the CL so that he can have the hunger for WC.I disagree.Di Maria does not need the hunger,he has
plenty of it.He needs confidence. He needs the confidence that he can deliver in a top class match. And CL final will be his last memory of a top match,I want him to shine in it.Messi needs to be hungry,Aguero needs to be at top shape physically.Others need to be just calm and concentrated.

Was extremely busy with exams.Happy to see our old guards have become more regular than before.Vamos!

Glad that the injury is not serious, and I dearly hope that none of the footballers, of any nationality, get injured and potentially miss the WC.

There is only two chance:
1.Rojo is the break out defender of the WC with a WC gold medal. Then Barcelona will get him.
2.Argentina wins the WC, But Rojo was not a starter due to a howler in the QF against Portugal and was replaced by Basannta Liverpool snapped up him for a cheap 16mil instead of 26mil.

Man city wont sell kompany for sure... They r looking to strengthen their defence more in this sunmer... They r dying for a CL success... And also they r one f de richest nw... Barca need to sell maximum possible players to raise fund if they want to seriously rebuild their squad... The best they can do now is looking at young rising low cost talents...

Though this Brazilian teams is very young, Brazilian's passion for this world cup outweighs any weakness this team might have. To be successful on any sport especially in soccer passion for the game is crucial, pride in the national team, its histoy, its glory is very crucial. Unfortunately, that's what Argentina lacks now. Despite all the weapons we have, we don't believe we are the best and that weighs on the team confidence. To be a champion, a team must be ready physically, technically, and last but not least mentally strong.
We lost a copy america 3-0 against an inexperienced Brazilian team ! Wagner love!! Who is that. Yes before the game the coach told them believe you can beat this Argentinian team and play hard, they did. We lost with a healthy riquelme messi tevez gago aguero hheinze Samuel ext on the field.
So the injuries of our current players is not the only problem.

Who's job is it to inspire these players to win a world cup? Sabella
He needs to say it out loud that our goal is to be champion not aiming for semi final because Argentina hasn't been there in decades.
He needs to tell messi that he's getting old and this might be his last healthy world cup and just as Brazil wants to win in order to erase the 1950 disgrace, this team wants to erase 2002 disgrace, we want to dedicate this cup for batigol Balbo heron riquelme Redondo almeida Ortega crespo quilly gonzalez ect

Come on Argentina it's been 28 freaking years you haven't won Nada!!!!

@theAbNormalOne if you look at it Rojo is really young and he is trusted by the national team coach this could play a big part too
but most of us here on Mundo don't realize that

@MessiCrew: Liverpool not alone. Arsenal, Barcelona, Tottenham and Monaco all interested...I don't have seen such a demand for an Argentine defender in this decade...
