Sergio AGUERO scores and injured

Sergio AGUERO scored for Manchester City but was substituted shortly after with an injury. It looks to be a muscle problem. Many will call for Carlos TEVEZ, others for Mauro ICARDI, but the matter is that AGUERO cannot seem to play 3 consecutive matches without getting injured.

Is it possible to keep Aguero on the bench for the first three WC games? That's a guaranteed 10 days of rest + the 5 days until the first knockout round. I don't know if Aguero would be willing to sit out three straight games, but it's better than having him out towards the end of the tournament.

This just prove Alves is more of a winger than a RB...I remember Pep played Alves as a winger at the Santiago Bernabeu while having another defender cover for Alves at the RB position, I forget who it was though..Lets be honest, Alves defensive skills are not great..

@Dante.. i totally agree. Peps defence of Abidal, Pique and Puyol created a lot of muscle and aerial security. This also let Alves bomb forward every play, which besides Iniesta is Messis best link up player in the team. Alves is a shadow of himself since having no defensive cover.

Aguero’s exit from the game was a move of precaution. He’s stated his fine and will be fit. We don’t need any new strikers. I’m completely satisfied with whom we have on board. We have a surplus of quality strikers to begin with so no thank you.
Barcelona’s problem is mainly the defense. The biggest mistake was to bring in Jordi Alba if you ask me because it should be either Jordi or Dani Alves but never both at the same time. They are very similar in speed and attacking than defending. Poor Mascherano used as a CB and you have a very weak defense. Abidal was much better at defending, much bigger and greater at set pieces. Barcelona needs to purchase 1-2 Tall CB’s and shift mascherano back to CDM. Midfield is great and Offense is great. I’d sell Alexis but the man is actually scoring plenty of goals so really the problem is the DEFENSE. LOL

I've been saying it since kun has been at atletico, he needs to go to barca.. Get rid of Alexis and bring in kun... Defense has been bad lately too..
Speaking of which, has anyone been keeping tabs on Santiago vergini from Sunderland??
Real shaky the first few matches, but has been really stepping it up lately, becoming really solid.. Too late for him to be considered dor the WC though.. I'm actually surprised sabella hasn't considered him., he's a estudiantes man!!!

The entire Barcelona team has been garbage this season and if you go back earlier in the season it was Valdes the one saving them with some crucial saves..Barcelona need to clean house, players like Xavi and Puyol will forever hinder the team if they demand starting position..I notice something, the other day during the Athletic Bilbao game, Tata sub on Fabregas for Xavi and Xavi did not take it lightly he was not happy with Tata decision and they started arguing on the sideline..So yesterday instead of subbing out Xavi for Fabregas, Tata choose to sub out Mascherano for Fabregas hence it weaken an already weak defense..Barcelona is a joke at the moment, why not give the young players like Sergi Roberto(Not a fan though),Tello, Afellay and, Cuenca starts yesterday, its not like Barcelona had a chance to win the league, they were already out of the running since the lost away to Granada..

Batigol I see nothing special about Hamsik, that guy technique is so poor..He can play not denying that fact, but he's nothing special..Overrated for me at best.

Jesus christ, guys, what are you talking about. Do you even watch European football??? Hamsik is no one season wonder, he was very good several seasons, best player in Napoli for years. And he is only 26, one bad season doesnt mean, he is one season wonder.

Though, I will be more than happy, if Pastore will go to Napoli.

Anyone think Pastore would be a good replacement to hamsik? he could be working magic in the midfield. Also Mertens,Pandev,Insigne are shoot type wingers not bad with having 1 on the field if they learn to make better choices... Also callejon is okay he could be better as a backup to someone. Napoli could be a big club Imagine Mascherano Lamela/Iturbe and Pastore at Napoli would be the best club :D/

Hamsik is hype. He can't even receive the ball properly or touch it. He was one season wonder like other normal players. Long rage shot and scored few goals that's it. He is nothing special

Imo behrami n inler r dos not in napoli standard... If they bring in masche, hamsik can partner him in mid, to kick start moves from deep, could turn out to a gerrard f napoli... I like him, is quality, bt not as #10 of a napoli team at present standard...

I don't really see a reason to worry about Kun, he's been getting subbed early to avoid injury, that's a good thing in my book.
As for the albicelestes not being able to survive without kun, well here is an interesting stat for you, kun only played 7 games out of the 16 qualifiers, the least out of all the starters and Argentina did just fine!
This team has proven that it can function and win without any one of the fantastic 4 not to mention that Argentina's B team matched Uruguay's A team in Uruguay. All this says that maybe the days of Argentina's dependence on individual talent are numbered

Inter in the 60's were remembered as 'Herrera's Inter'.

left quite a mark with the italian giants.

Proof that Argentine's are far ahead with there football ethos that it leaves a huge impression across the pond.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, Kun won't be fit for the world cup, and we ganna be doomed with or without him..

With him:
He won't be fit for all the games, and to win the Cup we need him for the last three games.

Without him:
- If we replace him with Tevez, then the Messi Tevez thing will start all over, and things won't be pleasant.
- If we don't replace him with Tevez, we actually don't have a solid player to play his role in the Four attackers formation.

Our best scenario would be that Lavezzi play the 2nd and 3rd group stage match, then round of 8th and the semi. While Kun plays the 1st game then the round of 16th and the final !

probably the most successful argentine manager in europe was Helenio Herrera.
he won 2 la ligas with Atletico Madrid between 1949 - 1951.
2 la ligas with Barcelona 2 copa del reys.

but his real success was with inter. 3 serie a's and 2 European cups.

not bad

@Leandro you're absolutely right, also muscle is heavier than fat and the more mass Kun has the more strain it puts on his lower body.
Not long ago I read an article that talked about how south-american clubs where focusing more building their young talents' muscular frames rather than their technical skill
This is because young Argentine talent are a huge exporting commodity for the nation and their physicality needs to match those of their European counter-parts.

You know honestly, no offense to the rookie Gerardo Martino, if Barca had been without any coach today, they could have done no worse than they are today.

As far as I'm concerned, it is never easy for any South American coaches (including Argentina coaches) who had no or limited experience of European football to start coaching in Europe.

Those who succeed like Simeone, Pellegrini, Pochettino are usually either ex player who had played in Europe for most of their career (Simeone or Poche) or those who's been coaching in Europe for a long time (Pellegrini). I wouldn't be surprised if Zanetti would coach Inter one day and looks good because he's an ex Inter.

One of the best Argentina coaches of all time, Carlos Bianchi FAILED at Roma and Europe. You have to remember that. Before the discovery of Sabella, Simeone, Pochettino, Bianchi was considered to be the best Argentina coach we had for years.

Martino, if any European clubs still want him next season, should start coaching smaller teams like Valladoid or Catania or West Brom or something to get him used to the European football. Barca is too much for him.

Btw, Barca is a joke now. What is that? That's not even tiki taka. It really ruins the reputation of tiki taka.

Alexis Sanchez? Hahaha.. go back to Italy.

The only time Barca did worse than this year is during Riquelme rookie era at Barca which was yeaaaaarss ago.

Absolutely Leandro. I've always wondered how much stretching KUN does. He's a happy go lucky guy and maybe his off pitch workouts aren't what they should be.

Fuuny that he was actually hurt last night BEFORE he scored the goal, and what a goal it was. Reminiscent of his title winner against QPR.

Let's hope that when he gets to Ezeiza the physios get him in tip top stretched shape.

Kun suffers from being so muscular to bis frame. While it gives him a great low center of gravity and tons of torque.. combined with his low height it makes pushing him off the ball near impossible.. but that muscle mass comes at the cost of flexibility and easy tears.. always his problem.. he should lay off the weights and do LOTS of stretching.. he will continue to struggle otherwise.

just a precaution for aguero's injury, glad he's placing the importance on world cup than the club. Hopefully he can sit out the rest of the season and messi as well, they should all just fly to argentina already and start practicing together.

Definitely... Napoli's midfield needes to be upgraded... Honestly, I do not like what Benitez has set up the team... This team needs to be built around Higuain... I see Higuain way too in the back, playing as a support forward... His job should be to score period... Callejon, Insigne, Inler, Hamsick are too selfish...

The Argentina international says his substitution at Goodison Park was purely precautionary and that he is "fine" after he was taken off in the first half.

“Thank you for your concern. I left just as a precaution,” he tweeted. “Fortunately I'm fine, happy for the goal, the win and keeping our dream alive.”

Poor barca is really struggling... Did u see how getafe took free kick to score de 1st goal... Even if they score 3 goals, 3 good aerial balls to their own box is more than enough to concede 3... Their weakness is now totally exposed... What they only can do now is jst finish dis season quickly in de best possible way n act brilliantly in de summer trsnsfer...

I see Tata Martino (who is wrongfully being blamed for Barca's problems) indicated their are divisions taking place within the Club. I think Rosell really made a mess of things and is trying to Eliminate the Influence of Laporta but at a bigger cost.
I don't care about Barca but the effect it has on our Messi and Mascherano and also the Coach.
They had no proper transitional plan in place since Tito was there and even Pep.....yet Tata Martino is getting the stick. As an argentina Fan i think he did well with a squad that was NOT balanced comming into season. I also believe Cryuf was right Neymar purchase has hurt the team. He was a hype purchase and not a smart one in the sporting aspect. I drifted off ...guys i just want us to be ready so bad lol

It LOOKS like a Groin or hip Flexor which should be ok...(i could be totally wrong though)
The way he was walking and the area he was holding.
I recently got that injury and its very niggling and its typical with runners, especially footballers.
If its just that....he should be fine but he will need proper care regardless.
I had mines In January and it took about 3-4 weeks to get better ..then again i am not a million dollar athlete so he would get better care lol
I hope its nothing at all....getting into the world cup in good physical and mental shape is important.
Also with Barca and their internal problems i hope it doesn't affect Messi at world cup.
