Ezequiel LAVEZZI and PASTORE down Chelsea

Ezequiel LAVEZZI and Javier PASTORE both scored fantastic goals for PSG in their 3-1 win against Chelsea.

Ezequiel LAVEZZI scored PSG's opening goal, a chested volley and PASTORE showed a glimpse of what he is capable of doing for the third goal. Dribbling through what looked like the entire Chelsea back line, PASTORE beat CECH and sealed a 3-1 victory.

In 2018 we will have an even better team.

Garay, FFer, Zabaleta, Rojo, Santiago Garcia, Roncaglia, Musacchio, Fazio.....in defense.

In midfield we will have Biglia, Yacob, DiMaria, Correa, Pastore, Gaitan, Iturbe, Alvarez, Lamela, etc.

At forward we will still have our talents in Messi, Aguero, Higuain, etc. plus Icardi.

Loads of talent for all positions. I suspect by then Messi will be more of a true 10/playmaker and much leads of a goal scorer.

Only real question is who will be goalkeeper, and from what I have seen we have some talent coming up there as well. Just hope they get some top level exposure and playing time.

Pastore has great raw talent and flair for days but unfortunately that doesn’t fit the schematics of Sabella’s tactics. If that was the case, I’d rather have Aimar be a sub for 30 mins. Realistically speaking though I would prefer Guiñazu over Pastore in this current formation and with Sabella coaching.
World Cup 2018 is a different story :) I’m 95% satisfied with our current squad.

@Kenneth:

I am not calling to take Pastore to the World Cup, I am just clearing the point @Leandro mentioned .. Of course it is too late to call him now, and in fact it is late to call any new face to the team at this point. Had Pastore had his chances in the qualifier and friendlies, things would've (not could) been different.

pastore is not going to be in this years w.c as it stands, he might have a chance if the following happens.
A: we suffer a few injuries in the midfield.
B: he can keep up this form for all of the season not a selected few games.
C: sabells is not about flair players in the mid, he wants hard working more defensive minded players in the mid and so far pastore is not that.

@Kenneth Its the coach job to do what you're actually saying.. The same way how Mou & Sabella excel Di maria game, Sabella can do the same for Pastore..

@kid i agree, i've said it before and ill say it again talent wise i believe Pastore is among the best, Iniesta, Zidane, and co, raw talent wise. All im saying is that he would have to change how he plays a lot in order to be there in the summer. Any other coach he would be there as we have seen with Batista and Diego, but Sabella has his plan and style is sticking to it, which i respect.

Kenneth I am not saying Pastore is better than Aguero when playing with Messi, how I see it is that Pastore will add more depth to the current squad,it's not like I am saying Pastore should replace any of the regulars in the team...Pastore should at least get a shot at the 30 man squad, he's still technically better than both Sosa and Augusto..

@kid, i think Johnny sums it up quite nice, but do you really see Pastore being that key link between defense and offense? Di Maria is perfect now, he has vision, touch and is incredibly pacy, Pastore is talented, he has vision, he has touch but our forward line is incredibly fast i just don't see Pastore helping that at all.

And no Sabella cannot call him up to purely be a sub, what if a series of injuries occur and cards? And Pastore HAS TO START

I can't see Pastore having any shot at all. We've been through this before. He's basically a one trick pony though his one trick is nice to watch when it works. He doesn't hold the ball well, he plays one touch passes that often lead nowhere, he doesn't track back well, he's not as pacey as Di Maria for what that's worth. I like the kid, but he has as much chance of making the squad as I do. He's exactly the type of player that Sabella has absolutely no use for. IMHO.

Kenneth I don't believe this notion that some how Pastore doesn't fit in Sabella plans, maybe Tevez but not Pastore man..Copa America and the world cup failings had had nothing to do with Pastore man, he barely got minutes in both tournament..

@Abs Argentina is not the US, we are not Costa Rica or some small Footballing nation who can give players chance after chance, we are Argentina, we host the best attacking talent in the world, Pastore played a World cup and a Copa America, he simply does not fit in Sabella's plan so there is no point in asking for him. His play style would be awkward at best in Sabella's high octane intricate counter attacking system.

@Leandro:

The key is "recent Di Maria" .. So, if you don't give chance after chance you won't get there .. Pastore isn't getting his chance with the national team, had he had as many chances as Di Maria he could easily become a strong mental player !!

Quite a statement for Pastore by Blanc, but why doesnt Pastore translate it on pitch everytime . . .
.
Pastore shouldn go unfulfilled like Aimar, D'Allesandro, Riquleme.

Pastores weakness is mental. Zidane,Iniesta, Maradona, Aimar, Messi, the recent DiMaria, etc.. all stand out for their talent on top of rock solid confidence and the winning attitude. Lavezzi has this attitude (minus so much skill).. the day Pastore (and Lamela) get their mind game up they will be great. Thankfully, they are young.. it will happen so long as they stay hungry and hustle

WoW that's quite a statement. It's so unfortunate we can't showcase this huge talent this world cup. Pastore needed to be consistent for at least a couple of seasons, he couldn't.

@johnny I'm glad you noticed it too, i know it sounds terrible but after Lavezzi's uncle died he has been playing Extraordinary, b/c Blanc did not hesitate to play him if he was ready and showed massive amounts of confidence in El Pocho.

That goal by Pastore shows why he is important to the national team. We really need a player like this to enter the game when we are not getting anything going. He can really do magic with his touches !!

And there comes the moment when you know Pastore has as much talent as Zinedine Zidane/Andres Iniesta has.

Aguero is not injured,he has recovered..Aguero said he wont rush back, that's one of the main reason he did not play against Man United and Arsenal..He will be fit and ready for the Liverpool game and he will probably come off the bench this weekend against Southampton..

Lavezzi and Pastore did very well during Chelsea clash; the absence of Ibra and Cavani in recovery did push them played in excellent style, P$G is in good form now, they will make it to the final and meet Bayern

Trust that Kun will be back and regain his shape and form at WC

Lavezzi capitalized cavani injury and worthing as a important member in money bank psg. With this form both lavezzi and pastore needs to change clubs. Lavezzi to inter and pastore to napoli will be a ideal choice.hanging on psg will destroy the talency of pastore and bringing a lot of players every year may harm the calibre of lavezzi.

Makes my heart flutter !

I think I've never seen Lavezzi play as well as he has over the past month or so. His finishing has been much, much better. I hope he keeps it up, and he might need to with Ibra out and Cavani not yet in form after his injury.
