As I said, this is the current situation: We need the 6th striker. The number 1 candidate is still Erik Lamela. Di Santo was mentioned to be among the consideration, but when the rumor came out, Icardi still did not get playing time.

Icardi originally was the back up of Lamela as the 6th forward. So my best guess is in Sabella's pecking order:
1. Erik Lamela
2. Mauro Icardi
3. Franco Di Santo

For one 6th forward spot.

Its a waste of time should this guy be considered for the world cup, he will only flop like he did vs Saudi Arabia a few years back..Icardi is too inexperience for the world cup especially he will be going as a striker which is very crucial, I would rather have an inexperience midfielder than an inexperience striker going into the world cup..If Sabella need another striker then German Denis should be selected, I see no other viable option out there that is currently ready.
