Gabriel HEINZE announces retirement

Gabriel HEINZE has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the season. HEINZE, who started his career with Newell's Old Boys, will end his career with the team. He's played for some of the biggest clubs in the world. Along with Newell's, he played for Manchester United, PSG, Marseille and Real Madrid among others.

With Argentina, HEINZE was part of 6 tournaments. He played with Argentina at the 2004 and 2007 Copa America's, the 2004 Olympics, where he won gold, the 2005 Confederations Cup and the 2006 and 2010 World Cup teams.

While defensively he wasn't always the best, HEINZE continues to give his 110% in every match and is constantly a warrior and a leader. He never gives up. Here are two of HEINZE's goals with Argentina.

@elpipita-You got a laugh out of me ! I'm not upset with anybody here in particular. I do very much miss the "small community" feel that Mundo used to have. I used to be able to read every comment easily and enjoyed the banter and exchange of opinions. But that darn Roy has done such a fabulous job with the website that it has become a bit more "busy" than I prefer.

Hey, I imagine I'll drop in from time to time. There are enough wonderful posters here to keep things interesting for a long time. So, not adios, but hasta luego.

Good luck to Heinze. I always liked him though he was so unpredictable. A fiery player and a leader.
