If France can mysteriously go from being the odd man out in the European pot to getting an easy group, then anything FIFA does can be considered suspect. Platini and Blatter. 'Nuff said.

Hope all reports are wrong. Will laugh my ass off if they are.

I still don't think Ronaldo win the award unless someone tampered with the votes..And how does the announcer know Ronaldo won? I never heard a announcer proclaiming a past BDOR winner before the trophy is given....This BDOR is the fishiest I have ever seen, no wonder why Messi laugh it off has nothing during the interview..

Messi isn't going to throw a temper tantrum or bitch if he loses. I never bought that he or his father were upset.

I do believe that Ronaldo won, however, as many reports and the announcers today said as much. We shall see.

I honestly don't care if Messi doesn't win the Balon D'or, if Ronaldo wins this year then Messi will win next years after lifting the world cup.

Exactly 30 years ago, January 8 1984, Maradona returned from his horror injury suffered the previous September to play a game at Camp Nou against Getafe. Maradona scored 2 goals that game. A while later he would singlehandedly win Argentina the World Cup!...Coincidence I think no!

I don't think that rumor with Messi father and the BDOR is true..If it was so MESSISTATS would have tweet it already on Twitter. I was looking through MESSISTATS tweets and I didn't see any rumor about Messi father and the BDOR.

I heard Cristiano Ronaldo won the Ballon D Oro, and Messi's father was pissed and flew to Spain with Messi when they heard the news.

I'm not sure if this is true or not.

Not sure if this topic
Has been talked about yet (too many comments to read) news is that Ruben botta was added to inters roster for tmrrws match,!!!
So stoked to see this kid play, especially at Inter, hopefully they allow him to debut tmrrw..
Praying he's the same if not better then wat he was/is prior to his injury, the dude is bad ass, great skills, one guy I would have loved to see play on the NT or along side of messi, never know? Guess it's not too late ?!

Oh I believe in the team and in Sabella. I simply recognize the room for improvement and want us to reduce the risks that we have. If people think I don't like our chances, they are wrong. I think we are in very good shape especially since our group requires so little travel and stays out of extreme weather.

I just think its prudent to recognize we have issues, and given that we cannot really improve upon our front 4, it's kind of obvious where our weakest links are.

Sabella will adjust tactics accordingly if he has imperfect personnel.

We defeat Germany 3 - 1 in their back yard and Messi could have easily score 5 goals in that game..Argentina defeat Italy 2 - 1 without Messi & Aguero and we could have win that game by 5 goals if it were not for poor finishing..We defeat Bosnia 2-0 without Messi and Lamela miss two sitters which could have extend the lead to 4 - 0..

I agree with Kenneth Argentina can blow away any team at the moment..I cant wait, Spain is one of the teams I want to meet at the world cup..I know we will repeat our 4 goal margin on them, by the way its Pique, Ramos and Arbeola will be defending for them...

So Venezuela, Paraguay, and Peru are bad teams now? Don't even let me mention some of the teams in Europe..

Paraguay tied with Germany 3 - 3 back in 2013..Peru and Venezuela are better than a lot of Europe teams..Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Italy, England groups were joke compare to SMWCQ games..Estonia, Luxembourg, N Ireland, Georgia, Finland, Faroe Island, Macedonia etc I could go on and on..

@Kenneth: And your basis for saying this is because we scored 3 or 4 goals so many times in competition so far?

Since the beginning of 2013, we have scored 3 goals against only Venezuela, Paraguay, and Peru (2 of the matches at home) in qualifiers. None of these teams qualified for the World Cup. We scored 1 goal in two matches against Ecuador, didn't score against Colombia, etc.

In friendlies in 2013, we scored at least 3 goals twice. Against Sweden (did not qualify for the World Cup) and "powerhouses" Guatemala.

Let's drop the hyperbole, and get a little grounded. Yes, we have the best front 4 by far, but to say that we will score 3 or 4 goals a match easily is a stretch, especially once you look at the quarterfinals on. There will be at least 1, if not 2, very ugly matches where we cannot make defensive mistakes and goals will be hard to come by. Those matches are where defending and goalkeeping will especially be key.

Messi was fantastic, and ran so easily and naturally that I almost cried. But how about Mascherano's performance as well? He was superb. It was very promising to see him play so solidly, and if he continues to improve it will help us that much more on the counter attack and relieve pressure off of Garay/Fernandez or whoever else we have in the middle.

@chalz-- a world cup in brazil will be in no way "boring".. 2010 was boring like hell,, spain winning it all by 1-0 scorelines.. 2006 was the best since 1986 but i hope 2014 will break all the previous records..this will be the greatest world cup we will see in our lifetime...

every major team has injury problems and the injuries will continue to come.. Germany,Holland,England have 3-4 major players injury prone.. it is how a team manages it's resources will determine how far a team can go in the WC.. if sabella rotates his squads carefully in the group stages then we will have a fully fit squad for the Knockout matches.. that will give us a huge boost+ the fact that we will play ecuador in 2nd round and belgium/portugal in QF- shouldn't be too much of a problem for our strikers to score.. we will only face the giants in the semifinal and final..

and in a WC semifinal,,if a clown like romero plays then we will concede goals within seconds after the kick-off.. sabella has surely watched that french cup game and he will most likely leave romero out of the upcoming friendly.. he will most likely test orion as sabella will never pick caballero even if he has the most clean sheets in la liga.. Orion better step up his gear or we are in for another disaster in 2014..

Lastly,, MESSI MUST stay out of any injuries.. if we lose our main commandeer then our ship is going to sink inevitably.. i want messi to score goals in all the 7 matches just like brazilian ronaldo did in 2002.. if messi can do that then we are going to have huge Tango party in brazilian soil....

Gonzalo Higuain is a target man now at Napoli. Not really a poacher, but more like a target man. That was the role of Batigol at Fiorentina at his best. A target man will normally be the number one target by the opponents and will get more attention from the opponents. That's why Higuain got a lot of assists for Napoli. He did not get that role back in Madrid. At Madrid, he was more of a poacher.

The number speaks for itself. 21 games 14 goals and 6 assist. 6 assist in 21 games is the highest assist/game ratio in his career.

Higuain said that Italian serie A is totally different from La Liga in that there is very few space. So he's clearly still adapting to both his teammates and the Italian football. When you watch Napoli, the opponents know that he is the danger man, so he got marked tightly often times by more than 1 defender. For that reason, he gives assists to Mertens or Callejon or Insigne.

gago has to come out after 60th min , and he really want to avoid to play in 3rd group match.

its like real have a witch hunt against us argies as they are starting an investigation against di maria for his apparent gesture.
lavezzi is in the transfer gossip news but who knows if its real or paper talk.
gago what a player for the n/t and I like us all hope for just 7 matches he can stay fit because none of the rest do what he does in the n/t.

im hearing you baker on the goal keeping, its not at all good news 6 months from a w.c to have you top 2 keepers getting splinter's in their combined asses.

yes
Dimaria : i dont have much problem with his playing time , he will be playing for RM for sure . but i hope he wont get bullied by RM fans and coaching staff , it may effect his morale.

lavezzi : if you see , PSG is now playing with 4-3-3 formation and lavezii is one of them , i think he is getting his time there.

gago : he will make to WC , but for sure he can not play 7 matches in the stretch of 1 month , hope biglia/banega stand up on these occasions.

and goal keeping position is a big concern , i am sure sabella is counting his options,

Kun - Assasin. Coolest head I know currently. Sweet volleys.

Pipita - Great heart, very well rounded player. Can play as a post #9 with his back against the goal as well as he can run at defenders and score off the dribble.

Messi - Even at one of his most 'ordinary' goal compilations and firing on half the cylinders he is perfect. All Messi needs to consistently beat 4 defenders is someone to play a 1-2 triangle pass.

We are blessed.

our players with bad position in their clubs

1: Romero --> He is having no idea , what he is doing out there.

2: Banega --> he wanted to move , not getting in to starting 11 , hope some clubs will bid him.

3: lamela --> enough said already.

4: mascherano --> he is good in barca , but i wish him to play in his natural position as CDM.

Tottenhams statement today is Lamela going no where this window, not even on loan.
