Any Argentine midfielder looking to build up should want to go to Atletico Madrid. Great coach who is a compatriot who knows how to play midfield....especially central and defensive midfield. I was very disappointed Biglia did not wind up there.

Sosa made the right move if he wants to improve. We shall see.

Jamaica or Trinidad... If that's who you want to play, might as well throw a dart at a world map and play whoever it hits. Trinidad is about as good at football as Argentina is at baseball. Jamaica finished dead last in their qualifying group.

ARGENTINA have denied CAMEROON international friendly.

Confusion reigned on Friday with Cameroon announcing a warm-up against Argentina on June 6 that Argentina later denied, instead confirming a friendly with Slovenia a day later.

Guillermo Tofoni, whose World Eleven agency organizes all Argentina's friendlies, told Reuters they would play their last warm-up against the Slovenians at the River Plate stadium in Buenos Aires on June 7. He denied Argentina would meet Cameroon in a friendly.

Ruben Botta:
The case of Ruben Botta is very particular. He signed for Livorno on a Bosman move from Club Atletico Tigre, under the guidance of Inter, but shortly before joining, he tore his ACL and his meniscus. Inter are paying €600k out of his €750k wage and the 23-year-old CAM spent his whole rehabbing process at La Pinetina, Inter’s training facility.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Botta has healed, but obviously he needs to regain the rhythm and match form. Mazzarri spoke of the Argentinian youngster before the Milan derby, but his near future will be at Livorno, that will finally have a chance to see the player they have under contract.

Without doubt, the best goalie in the world among those who will not make it to the World Cup:

5 penalty saves there and some crazy saves.

@Arg fan,
How bad is our goalkeeper compared to Brazil's and Spain/Italy's? That's the only teams I'd be worried about, and we already beat Italy in Rome without Messi.

@foreverbatigol I'm interested to see where you got this fascination with Veron from...he is good yes but the better picks of the San Lorenzo side are Correa and Tito Villalva

No one new from South America will be going to the World Cup. We have a plethora of forwards. Scocco will not make the team.

Maxi Rodriguez is a sure thing, barring injury.

Higuain wont be going to Chelsea, and I doubt Higuain want to play under Mourinho again after he constantly keep on benching Him at Real Madrid for Benzema. The players I like to see move in the January transfer window are Caballero and Musacchio..I heard Pellegrini is still link to Caballero and will try to bring him to City..Musacchio is one of the hottest defenders in world football right now and is said to being chase by City, Chelsea and Barca but the asking price is too much at $50 million..I just don't see these clubs spending that much money on a defender during the January transfer window..The only reason I want Caballero and Musacchio to move is for them to get a better shot at the world cup team..Mourinho is a good coach but is tactics unsettle players too often, just look at the situation he left at Real Madrid and what's going on currently at Chelsea..Higuain is fine at Napoli and the fans love Him..He's like a local hero already and Napoli haven't won any trophy yet.

Istiaque I don't think going all the way to the UCL final will have a huge affect on the players at the world cup..I think Portugal, Germany and England have the Brazilian conditions to worry about and the distances they and their fans will have to travel so early on in the competition..

Argentina and Brazil got the most relaxing groups, we wont be burnt out come second round unlike Germany, Spain, Holland, Italy and England all will be basically playing quarter final & semifinal types game in the group stage....

Brazil and Argentina will make the semis and a third South American team which will be between Colombia and Uruguay (Chile I have as the under radar South American team)..You guys forget back in 2010, 4 South American teams made the quarter final and the only reason Chile got knock out before was the case they had to play Brazil in the knockout round..All in all I see all South American teams making it to the second round and at least 3 South American making it to the semis..

Could anyone translate it?Johnny,Pablo,el principe?Atleast the summery. I've got it from Ruben Botta offical facebook page.Google translator can't help much.

Hey not trying to be negative but this is what it is. Argentina will never win this world cup without a good GK , doesn't have to be world class, for ex we have cabalero, second thing if messi isn't in his form winning the world cup Willie difficult. Think if our team didny incluDec messi, yes we still have good quality but we don't have the player that can ,make the difference which in this case is messi. I don't see the match on the 6th of June necessary to play , why because of the injury.just so you guys know from the qualification , matches in April or may(from messing injury and so on) Argentina hasn't played a single match with all the starting players and to this day it's still the Same. So injury is a huge concern. Our LB position is still unresolved so as our GK position and injury remains the biggest concern. Like it or not messi is the most important player in our squad

June 1st is one week from CL final. I hope none of our players will be involved in CL final. So that means no Barca, Madrid, City, or PSG.

More rumors, take them with a grain of salt. Napoli supposedly interested in Mario Suarez of Atletico, Lucas Leiva of Liverpool, and our very own Mascherano...

It sells papers and clicks.....

But they haven't said Napoli is selling. In fact, the opposite. That Chelsea made an unsolicited bid.

Don't think Chelsea will do it because Chelsea has lost a lot of a money in 2013. So they will not do any major transfer this January. Guarin for Juan Mata trade maybe, but not big transfer.

Don't think Napoli will do it because they do not need money and is surplus of money. What they need is strengthening the squad, not selling their most valuable player.

Found a link from the Telegraph.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/10547871/Chelsea-plan-second-bid-for-Napoli-striker-Gonzalo-Higuain-after-having-50-million-offer-rejected.html

According to the article its 50 million POUNDS, not USD. Right now, thats about $82 MM USD. They say Chelsea will sweeten the bid!!!!

Chelsea is rumoured to want Higuain, but it is doubtful Napoli will sell him so soon, especially the way he is playing. it'd be awesome for him to go there though.

How real is the rumor, Tony? You have a source?

Honestly, I would like to see a move by Mascherano more than anything else. Any rumors to that? A loan even?

Good one as we need this kind of game against strong African team although it will not to be very tight to avoid injury but rather to build a good harmony and team spirit.
