Agreed with Caniggia. I can't see any reason for Sosa to go to Brazil. He doesn't have the goods.

@kenneth - I think Sosa gets a lot of hate because of consistently losing the ball when we were in attack, due to his poor technical ability....from me anyway ;)

So true from Argentuban. Endless irrational criticism in Argentina is par for the course. It is truly a form of madness.

@argentuban

There are more fans loving their clubs and its players or ex players (especially Boca or River) than their national team. What you said was the example.

I am a member of a Boca fan page and man, for those of you who complain and bitch about the "negativity" or "unfair criticisms" on this site, you guys have no clue what Argentineans are really like on fan pages.

They hate Sabella (not criticize, HATE), many dislike Messi, etc. Rational thought is completely out the window. Naturally all the Boca fans want Tevez on the team, saying he is a REAL Argentinean (unlike others - read: Messi), etc. They also call Sabella an "hijo de puta" which literally translated is son of a whore but is really the equivalent to son of a bitch in English.

The only thing that they post that I think we would also get a consensus on here in these boards is that Grondona sucks...lol. That one is universal.

One went so far as to say that Tevez was the only one who played with heart against Germany and bashed Messi, to which I curtly replied yes, and Tevez was the only one who missed his penalty against Uruguay at HOME. Hardly fair, I know, but they weren't being sane or fair either. There is a plurality on these types of pages (not majority but sizable enough of a group) that want Sabella sacked and Tevez to start ahead of Messi (I am not kidding).

The ones bashing Sabella - I replied to them basically saying, well, he has us playing our best football since 2006 under Pekerman. Would you prefer Maaradona or Batista come back to coach the team so we can suck again? Lots of gnashing of teeth....

It's very nasty really. This board is incredibly tame in any criticisms of players or the coaching staff.

If he gets consistent playing time under Simeone, he will take up a spot on the roster of 30.

That being said, given Simeone's skill as a manager and history as a defensive midfielder, if he gets consistent playing time under Simeone that means he is doing well, so it wouldn't be detrimental to the team.

Say what you will, but the guy is putting it all on the table to get a spot.

He will be very lucky just to be a rotation player at Atletico. I don't think it is a good choice for him to get his personal goal to make it to the WC squad.

Surprise Surprise. Sosa makes headlines LOL Hate him or love him, this here is a power move on his side. Shows the hunger for the NT spot in him. As an Argentine I’m gonna fully support him and wish him the best. If you get the spot I will support you till the end Sosa. Definitely not my choice by the way LOL Vamo Vamo Argentina!!

Sosa is a good player that plays out of position for the NT, often on the wing. Your system of only one attacking midfielder(4-3-3), which is only DiMaria, doesnt suit Sosa, maxi or Lamela.. which is why a 3-5-2 or 4-5-1 is better suited if DiMaria is hurt or if we are playing against Spain, germany, Holland...(attacking European Foes)

Fantastic news i think this move will really let him grow as a player and could be a perfect piece in Simeone's puzzle. He is disciplined, hard working and tactically solid, he is just not flashy which is why he got so much hate on these forums.
