Napoli wanting to sign Ezequiel GARAY

Napoli are rumored to want Ezequiel GARAY.

Napoli are rumored to trying to sign Ezequiel GARAY. Rai Sport in Italy is reporting that GARAY is one of the names on Napoli's list of defenders they would like to sign. Should that happen, GARAY would join Federico FERNANDEZ and Gonzalo HIGUAIN.

Musacchio made a mistake in the last Villarreal game that resulted in opponent goal.

Wat do u guys think of musacchio ?
Seems in good form lately, I've wanted him to have a chance for the NT back in the day.
Does anyone think the barca transfer will happen for him ???

Yes agreed with most of you, hopefully if he joins Napoli he can play with Fernandez which is excellent for Argentina but we never know what things gonna happen. I like Garay's style very elegant, doesn't tackle for nothing and good in vision and placement. A club like Arsenal is a good fit to him.

Yeah Kidulthood, Brazil vs Paraguay match of 2011 Copa America is an example of lot of bad penalty shots. The penalty shots from Elano, Andre Santos and Fred were hilarious. Only Thiago Silva managed to keep his shot on target but saved by the keeper.

@el principe,
I agree with u brotha, that was my initial argument, do we really see fede and garay playing together in Napoli? Mmm my hunch is no, I see garay replacing fede if this transfer goes thru. Like I said, I pray to god I'm wrong, because if thy play together in Napoli this will only benefit us most, since we all know sabella is taking this whole same squad he's been calling up, so hope they both get to play together in Napoli .

I think Brazil of all teams, is the last team that want to be in a shootout..Brazil penalty takers are poor..The only consistent pk takers for Brazil are David Luiz, Neymar and, Oscar. Everyone else in that squad is suspected as a pk taker..Pato miss pk in the Copa game vs Paraguay, Fred too..Pato again just miss a pk recently in a Brazilian cup game, Jo miss pk a lot as was the case against NOB..

Argentina problem in 2006 was that they were trying to place the ball in the goal while the Germans were blasting them home..The 2011 Copa shootout was an improvement although Higuain and Pastore pk weren't all that convincing but the most important was that they scored..

el principe a pk is a pk it don't matter how it goes in, I see Di Maria as a great pk taker for Argentina, that's Di Maria first pk in a while..But you failed to mention that Aguero scored an ugly pk against Everton some months ago, where the ball came off of Tim Howard back and went into the net.

I think the only better player at the back that is improving day by day and start showing his quality in both NT and club is Zabaleta. I have so much doubt on him in qualifiers or before, but he's getting better and better, on the last friendly he start to show his ability, and then his form in his club shines recently. I think Zabaleta will be in great form at World Cup (unless if his injury getting worse).

Fede, and Garay, their form is bad lately and that's worrying. They've shown some ugliness at the last friendlies.
Roho, I don't want to talk about Roho, Romero.

Garay has been rock solid this year for NT and for the club. FF is rock solid for NT though is not get enough playig time for club. Zabaletta is fantastic. Only worrying position for us is LB.

Don't be too happy with this rumor. I read a month ago or so that Napoli President said that his squad still need 3 more players. One of the positions is the center back. What he meant was he thinks his squad needs a better partner for Albiol. So if Garay moves to Napoli, Fede should see less playing time. It is no secret that Benitez prefers Albiol than Fede. Fede is a bit ahead of Britos, but not yet an important team player.

Garay would be an important player for MU. So MU is better for him.

Btw, Angel Di Maria just scored a very ugly PK. It should have been saved. I think he should never be our PK taker should there be PK shootouts in the WC. Our best PK takers: Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Maxi, and Garay. Garay was Racing Santander PK taker years ago. His PK is like Batigol's or Oscar Cardozo's: powerful PK.

LOL @ at the people calling for Masch at CB, he does not have the height for it, he excels and is arguably the best player at stopping counter attacks with his precise hard tackles and his positioning. I'm grateful that Masch plays for us and never want to see him playing CB again... if he was 5 inches taller he would be one of the best, but his size makes him an elusive player in the midfield and he is able to stop so many counter attacks with pivotal positioning and tackling.

As far as Fernandez and Garay...Benitez is no fool, im sure at first he will try to rotate them to give Albiol minutes but will see that they are too damn good together.

The Barcelona attacker (Fabregas) has become frustrated with constant attempts to tarnish the Argentine star's reputation and says Messi is still the best in the world.

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has alluded to a campaign against both the Catalan club and Lionel Messi by the Madrid media.

Messi’s father was the subject of unsubstantiated reports in a national newspaper earlier this week that linked him with alleged criminal activity, but Cesc says such stories are merely part of a propaganda ploy to unsettle both Barca and the Argentine forward.

"Something is happening,” the former Arsenal captain told sports show Jugones on La Sexta. “There are people taking advantage to say things they shouldn't, with no facts or proof.

“After six years of praise, people start to get bored and look for other things, as if there needs to be a change in who is the best. But Leo is [the best], and he does his talking on the pitch - and that’s where he does it best."

Cesc also spoke of an alleged campaign by the Madrid media in favour of Real’s Cristiano Ronaldo and in detriment to Messi ahead of next month’s Ballon d’Or.

"As soon as he gets injured, it seems as if he has done nothing,” the Catalan complained. “It's like they need another player to mark the rhythm of world football.

"But I have played with him and I have played against him, and I don't think we will see another player like Messi in many, many years."

well you see masche was playing great at CB when he had an in form Pique and abidal by his side. Also when xavi was at his very very best of holding the ball in the middle.

Now the problem is, pique is off form, and there is no Abi...so there is nobody to protect from aerial attacks, and that's why each and every time Masche is playing as a CB, he is looking more and more bad. Another thing when Abi was there there used to be a great deal of balance between forward runs of the wing backs..like alvez used to bomb forward all the time, and abi used to stay back...now both alba/adriano and alves goes forward at the same time...and alba can't defend worth shit

these are cumulatively responsible for Masche's poor performances as a CB. He is great defensive minded footballer..but definitely not a CB.

Mascherano a great cb? He is one of the best DM's in the world and it's barca's fault that they ain't signing any cb's. i hate seeing him play as a cb. Hopefully he will leave barca soon

Interesting... Mascherano is playing as CB at Barcelona because that's where he fits best. Otherwise, Mascherano arrival to Barcelona would have been a complete waste. Argentina fans should be relished that Mascherano full potential has been discovered; I know I am. I am pretty sure Mascherano is now much more accustomed to being a CB than a DM.

In the event of Mascherano leaving Barcelona, he will most likely still be used as a CB because that's where he can play best. I know I am writing all of these in vain because Mascherano as CB for Argentina is very unlikely... Cambiasso in Mascherano's role and Mascherano as a CB would benefits Argentina offensively as well as defensively immensely... It's a shame seeing a great CB like Mascherano's talent being wasted in role that he cannot he even play that great...

Mascherano is no CB I hate the idea of him even playing CB at Barcelona, that's one of the main reason I want to see Masche leave Barcelona, because he's been playing way out of position at Barcelona..Even while at Liverpool Mascherano was scoring a few goals here and there but since is move to Barcelona it has taken away a lot from Masche attacking instinct just to sacrifice for his current club..

I truly don't want Mascherano as a defender for NT, he's already a defender in the DM role...Mascherano at the DM position is so important to the team when playing with all the Fab4, take Mascherano out of the DM position then our team would left expose in the middle leaving our defenders vulnerable.

If this move happens, it will not going to benefit Argentina much. Sabella already got it all wrong. Argentina need two strong center backs, not a twin tower. I don't have anything against Fernandez and Garay. I think that they are not Argentina's best choice of center backs. Those two look very vulnerable.. As far as I know Mascherano is Argentina's best center back. Sabella just had to find someone to paired with Mascherano.. Hugo Campagnaro could have work.. Since Sabella is looking for height, he could have have gone with Mascherano and Garay who's over 6'2..

Mascherano is more like the opposite of Sergio Busquets. Neither of them is a complete defensive midfielder.. Mascherano lacks the offensive instinct while Busquets lacks the defensive instinct. Meanwhile, Cambiasso is the closest thing to a DM Argentina have at the moment.. Maybe a midfield with Cambiasso and either Banega or Gago would hold on just fine. Argentina's first choice of back-line should consists of four of these five, but Sabella already screwed it up..

( Campagnaro, Garay, Mascherano, Zabaleta/Rojo )

In Center Back position, sometimes Partnership & Understanding between 2 is more important think than skills. Garay & FF have been playing for team Argentina for a long time. Benitez is definitely looking for the understanding and partnership between 2 of them. If it happen, Both Team Argentina & Napoli will be benefited.

Maybe u are right Baker...there is 1 friendly game coming up which is against Romania...but I am pretty sure that would not be the only Friendly b$ the WC...May be not 3/4 but there would be more than 1. This is a good news for our NT defense...The twin tower will have more chemistry....I ve always wanted this to be honest....There is no problem with rotations...it better than injuries...We most prolly gonna have 3/4 friendlies before the wc. Now imagine if FF and Garay get atleast 10 more games together in Napoli b4 the wc it make a whole world of difference than 3/4 friendlies.

Chris For the most part, FF have been Benitez first choice defender..Getting minutes recently? FF have now play 720 minutes already, what more can you ask for? If it is true, and Garay moves to Napoli, then it would be a good thing for Argentina, the more our NT playing together in the same club will do us a lot of good especially in defense.

Rojo is having a great time now with Sporting Lisbon, and they're a top of the Portuguese league..I don't know what's with all the hate on Rojo, in the last game against Bosnia he was pretty good.

Ayrton18 agree with you, but I have a feeling that Garay heart is with the BPL..

I Like Tevez but no way would I drop Palacio and lavezzi, for Tevez who has a hot head and can blow up the NT at any given moment, while Lavezzi and palacio know their roles in the team and are willing to play on the bench, I cant say the same for Tevez.

I mean bad because garay will probably be priority depending on how fit they are, also bcus fede hasn't been getting much min until recently,
Good thing becus hopefully it would give them a opportunity to play together, which I hope!!
But I personally don't see abiola being benched much..
Man @kidulthood, u have a rebuttal for all most comments, don't u?! ;)
Look all I want is the best for our NT, we all do, but before the WC, there's lots of consequences we will have to consider, I don't see sabella making any changes to the regulars he's been calling, I still disagree withe rojo being called up, I actually want to vomit everytime I see him on the list, but it is what it is I guess, and hope to god I'm wrong during the WC.
On a side note, I know I'm probably gonna get a lot of heat for this, but f it, here goes.
If tevez continues his form, I wouldn't think twice for considering him for the WC, tevez over lavezzi and palacio ANY DAY, hell I'd even play him at LB before rojo lol. Just sayin

How would it be bad for FF? I don't think FF need to start every game for Napoli before the world cup, their are a lot of games to go around in Serie A and Europa..After Zabaleta injury today, I feel our out filed players are playing way too many games before the world cup, which for me is not a good thing, rotation is a good option if you ask me..

Yes I would love to see Fernandez start every game but that can lead to injuries too..Garay can rotate with both Fernandez and Abiola...
