This is what Sabella had to say:

"We're in the 'group of death' and besides that there are no long trips. Was a positive draw. Football is football, is the most illogical sports. But other groups were more difficult," said coach of Argentina, Alejandro Sabella.

"First you have to play, try to classify, go first and then party are parties," Sabella interrupted.

"Argentina is already classified. Centre rivals that we had insurance we have to qualify. Then can come Switzerland.'s Path seems clear," said Alfio Basile, who led the Argentinians in the 1994 World Cup and then in a second cycle of 2006 to 2009.

"Messi is what makes the difference, it is an extraordinary thing to God that heals well because if he is no robbery," predicted Basile.

Sorry for the translation but its all Google grome translator, not my fault..So hope you guys at least get it..

Argentina will pass the group stage and probably face these teams.

Round of 16 - Switzerland/Ecuador (Assuming France group champion)

Easy Enough, Argentina should win

Quarter Final - Belgium/Portugal/Ghana (Assuming Germany group champion)

Argentina should win this too.

Semi Final - Italy/England/Uruguay/Spain/Nederland/Chile

Not sure, if we can win this match

Final - Brazil/Spain/Nederland/Chile/Colombia/Uruguay/England/Italy/France/Germany

Not sure, if we can win this match

So, I am pretty sure that we would reach up to Semi Final easily.

The problem for the top European teams is that they have to play all these tough games so early on in the South American conditions, which will not be easy, these teams are going to be drain before they reach the quarters (If they reach the quarters), especially players who depend on speed a lot..

Italy complained before the group draw about the FIFA seeding. Then they ended up the X team in pot 3 along with the South Americans and the Africans. It is funny :)

@Kidult

Well other than Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina, all other South Americans are in tough groups. Uruguay is with Italy and England. Chile is with Netherlands and Spain. Ecuador the weakest South American is with Switzerland and France.

Our group will allow us to grow steadily in the tournament..Thank you lord Jesus!!! I have been holding back my tears for years now..:)

Saddest moment for me was when I woke up in 2002,and saw my boys crying after the Sweden game..I did miss that game due to time schedule because at that time it was so early in the morning..

Amlan: As much as this was a favorably group for us, the way how you're pending out stuff, I dont think it work like that..Argentina need to get out of their block swinging with their A team, that's it, playing one sets of player in the group stage and another in the knockout stage is just a case for disaster..If Argentina win their first two games then they can rest majority of their starters against Nigeria for the final game in the group. That's how it should be, not playing B squad in our opening games..

A bad draw if you ask me, the same happened last time we got easy teams in group stages, we should have at least got a kick ass team so that we could prepare ourselves for the later stages. anyway i have a strong instinct that we will be the champions in 2014. been a hardcore fan since i was 8 years, hurt to see batigol cry in 2002. Much love and prayings for the team from NEPAL. :)

Its better to avoid Germany.Very risky opponent. They play well in the WC and also when their backs are against the wall.

Even in 1986 they were almost there. So lets not write off european teams(especially Germany), just because the world cup is held in SA.

Great draw and easy group for us. Hope everybody stays fit. We can pass the group stage easily just by playing the reserve bench players like banega, palacio, lavezzi, maxi, biglia, augusto etc. Palacio would be the top scorer of the group stage. In the second round we would play messi, aguero, higuain, maria, gago and mascherano and scare the hell out of everybody...:p :p

@Aslam

Expect this semi line-up.,

Brazil Vs Germany
Argentina Vs Spain

That would be like
Roger Federer vs. Novak Djokovic
Rafael Nadal vs. Andy Murray

@Kidult

If Chile won group B, I would be very happy! But I don't see them going that far. I would be surprised if they can beat Spain or Netherlands. I would be happy to see Brazil vs. either Spain or Netherlands than Chile as Spain or Netherlands have a 50-50 chance to beat Brazil. Chile is an offensive team who likes ball possession. That does not match Spain. Spain is the best in the world at that. Netherlands is just another offensive team. But as I said, I hope Netherlands tops this group and Spain end up runner up and will set up a Spain-Brazil second round!

Guys according to the scenario here:
http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/kostage.html

We should top the group.

SECOND ROUND:

and will meet Ecuador or Switzerland in the second round should France tops group E which they should be dying for, unless they want to meet us.

QUARTER FINAL:

We will hope for one thing:
1. Germany to top the group G. It is a MUST! If they finish runner up, they will meet us again in the QF!

Portugal or Ghana or USA will be fighting for the runner up of group G who will meet the winner of the one of the easiest groups, group H Russia or Belgium.

So in the quarter final, the most likely scenario is Messi vs. CR7 or Argentina vs. Portugal.

SEMIFINAL

We should hope for two things here:
1. Netherlands to win group B, not Spain. That way Spain (if they finish second) would be in the left bracket along with Brazil, Germany, England, Italy, France, Colombia, and Uruguay there!
2. Brazil to NOT finish second in their group. Otherwise, they would move to the right bracket.

The most likely scenario on paper is Spain vs. Argentina in the semifinal, but I hope it will be Netherlands vs. Argentina in the semifinal. Croatia (group A) will be a dark horse here if they finish second in group A.

FINAL

The left bracket is the "bracket of death". Brazil, Germany, Italy, England, Uruguay, Colombia, France are all there. Not to mention if Spain fail to win their group, they would move there too. Otherwise, it is Netherlands. So pick one...

Overall a GREAT group if not almost perfect. I was hoping that we will be in group F or H. I got my wish there as we are in group F. This time, we've got our best group draw since 1986. This group draw is even better than 1990 where we met Brazil in the second round.

as far as the travel is concerned the games are along the south coast for the group games. weather will be much cooler. so the boys should be able to adjust to conditions fairly easier than other teams.
