Sweden also have other reliable goal scorer in their team, they're not solely reliable on the BIG man Zlatan unlike Ronaldo with Portugal. pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 11/5/2013 at 3:18 AM 0 el principe: I do agree he has chopped and changed way to of turn in the mid to get a team plan going.the defence is obviously very fine but the constant chopping and changing in the mid is not good.I think avb is being to smart for his own good by trying to pick players for courses instead of what you correctly alluded to is to stick to the same set of players to get some chemistry going. el principe (United States) Posted on 11/5/2013 at 3:06 AM 1 The number one problem with Boas is he has yet to find his best players selection after more than 17 games in all competitions despite being together since August for the start of the season. That is very bad. It's been like more than 4 months and he has yet to know his best starting line up.Look at his squad. Sometimes he relies on Sigurdsson and Eriksen. Sometimes he relies on Holty and Lennon, and so on. He keeps changing the players and positions. The same with Lamela, sometimes he used him on the left, sometimes center, sometimes unclear (no clear position). So how can someone be at his best when having no clear instruction? Arsenal, Liverpool, and City have found their best squad. They always use the same squad. MU is otw to be there. Hotspurs? Keep changing. So no chemistry whatsoever. The national team is the same. Once a national team finds its best squad and always rely on the same 11 players, they normally do good. For example: Argentina (we all know their best starting line up), Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, and Germany. The last 2 countries have their best starting line up already, they are just experimenting with the subs to give more experience to the subs. Kenneth (United States) Posted on 11/5/2013 at 1:19 AM 1 I don't think Townsed is over rated, i just think he is going through a good spell, statistically he may not be the best but the kid is on fire when it comes to running defenses ragged. Lamela will get his chance i am not worried, he is incredibly talented and above all has a good head on his shoulders, once he feels comfortable in tottenham i see him taking on defenders with full confidence :). As for him being game ready for Argentina? Maybe him coming off the bench for tottenham will help him come off the bench for Argentina? Hmmm some theories don't sound right once said out loud. Shafat.Redondo (Bangladesh) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 4:09 PM 1 Cristiano would whoop sweden's ass to death. Their defense is horrible , even worse than maradona 2010 Argentina defense . pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 2:38 PM 0 stupidly at having a loan striker who is not a bantake type who would actually suit the role, where as soldado is a fine striker but not as a loan striker as he lacks the muscle to do what a loan striker does.interesting enough banteka was the no 1 striker target.im not sure who to blame as we dont have any other strikers who are any good being de foe and bad ade, i understand a striker is out no 1 priority come the jan window and it is exactly what we need.. el principe (United States) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 2:08 PM 0 To have the most chances and have scored just 9 in 10 games say something. That's no longer "unlucky", but that's more of "stupidity". Stupidity what? everything. Players selection, tactic, mentality, etc etc... pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 12:26 PM 0 I agree townshead is very over rated as ive said before, 10 games, I fluke goal and no assists = fail.lamala will start vs sheffif in the u.e.f.a cup on Friday and its another change for him to step up and I hope he takes his chance to show a.v.b he is the man as we know what he can do. lamela sadly was very poor vs sheffif last time but was better vs hull in the cup. pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 12:22 PM 0 the problem is we need another striker like a banteke:After 10 games in the Premier League season, here are the top five sides in terms of chances created.1) TottenhamThe Spurs side is packed with creative talent now and it's spread right through the team. Rather than relying on Gareth Bale like last season, the money that Andre Villas-Boas reinvested looks like it's working as they have created 130 chances so far this season - the most in the league"that say its all, 2nd is man city link:http://www.tothelaneandback.com/spurs/2013/11/4/have-spurs-created-the-most-chances-this-season-top5-most-cr.html KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 11:23 AM 0 Yea, Townsend is so overrated.. xtreme (United States) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 11:06 AM 1 I freaking hate AVB, he's turning our world class player into a bench player struggling for minutes, what a freaking joke. I really hope Lamela gets out of that shitty team and move to either man city or spain or back to Italy. Imo, city is the only team that will help with Lamela situation, or was it just the manager issue? I also cannot stand that townsend overrated bum. rey (United Kingdom) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 4:36 AM 0 wow!! for an elementary logic class! You gave a very long speech! I understand your point! and it was not a attack at you! It was simple comparison of the situation! Johnny (United States) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 3:10 AM 0 Spot on Istiaque ! I thought I was the only one who noticed something strange about arpon. Istiaque (Bangladesh) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 2:45 AM 3 yes deb..arpon khan is sometimes a Bangladeshi, Spaniard, Brazilian and who knows what else. I believe he has several IDs to give him his own kudos :P Deb (India) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 2:34 AM 1 This Arglover guy seems to be an Indian. No other man would thank others just for talking to him or kinda agreeing with his views!! 'thanks mates' LOLNo offence meant. I do really keep observing the profiles and feel there are people here who mention different countries in their profiles, for reasons best known to them!! Like we have one guy named Arpon. Sometimes he is a Bangladeshi, sometimes from Brazil and sometimes from Spain or Italy. :DNot saying we all don't love Argentina equally though. Just for fun... Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 10:23 PM 1 Sulav, I always say, beware what you wish for! Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 10:21 PM 0 I CANNOT wait to see Herr Capitan wearing #10 and playing along side the boys, its feels as if its been forever since we've seen him wearing the ARG jersey. C'mon Argentina. SulaV (Canada) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 7:29 PM 1 i would like to have portugal in the world cup so that we can knock them out of the world cup and eventually win it! And that will be the end of messi vs ronaldo saga!!!! KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 5:47 PM 0 Wow they add the Argentina vs Brazil goals in the clip below..Messi 3rd goal vs Brazil give me even more goosebumps..lol KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 5:37 PM 0 I get goosebumps all the time when I see Messi scoring the 3rd goal for Argentina vs Ecuador in Buenos Aires.. Ayrton18 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:58 PM 0 also i think city should have gone for di maria instead of navas but oh well di maria is having a great season at RM so far just hope bale gets injured again :) KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:50 PM 0 Ayrton trust me Pelegrini is turning Man City into Inter Milan lite. :)AgueroZabaletaDemechelisOtamendi (future signing)Caballero (future signing)These players will all be a City together at some point in the near future. And I could see Pelegrini buying couple of the current U17 players at the world cup for future projects.. :) Ayrton18 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:45 PM 1 man how awesome woult it be if city bought ansaldi otamendi and lamela :D pellegrini with the argentineans KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:30 PM 1 Just send Lamela over at City :) lol...He will join his fellow countrymen and another one is coming in the January transfer market #Otamendi. pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:26 PM 0 lamela will get his chance and when he does i agree he is so much better then townshead who has 1 fluke goal and no assists, lamela is twice the player of either lennon or townshead but he will have to wait but when his start comes he must grab it with both feet because some times he does not stand up like the 3 starts hes had for the n/t that he has not been convincing in.their always seems to be a blending i period for Argentine players to the e.p.l, i see oswaldo at southampton has said he may move away as the e.p.l is to physical.i cant wait for another Argentine in Lamela to show the english hoe to play the game. Arglover (South Africa) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:18 PM 0 Thanks mates, I cant tolerate our future no.10 to be faded away like that, btw! S.Garcia with late winner in Bremens 3-2 win againt Hannover 96. Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 2:59 PM 0 He'll get his shot, a slow start here or an injury there... you never know. argentuban (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 2:56 PM 0 @Arglover: Lamela really screwed up in his move. I don't see him getting much playing time at Spurs, and his argument for leaving Roma was that they weren't serous about challenging for the title.....he is eating massive amounts of crow. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 2:56 PM 0 @Arglover I know what a joke that Lamela cant start in a mid table team like Spurs and the people who are starting over him are not even world class..Put any of these English player in a another league and they will fade away.. argentuban (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 2:53 PM 2 Respectfully, you really need to take an elementary logic class, "rey". YOU made the like-for-like comparison of the situations between MESSI and ROMERO's situations as though Romero is a proven world class goalkeeper at the level that Messi is a world class forward. I did not make said comparison. I never stated Willy has won trophies or used any type of argument you used to suggest Romero was on par with Messi for his position to suggest Willy was better or on par with Romero. My reply merely demonstrated the obvious to anyone on this message board: that Messi is a truly accomplished world class player, and perhaps the greatest player ever at forward, and Romero is not able to even hold a starting position for his club.As for a comparison between Willy and Romero, Willy has had several man of the match performances for Malaga and is a regular starter. Romero was cast away from Sampdoria and is warming the bench at Monaco.Romero has barely played this season, and it is unlikely that he will turn that around barring an injury to Monaco's current starting goalkeeper.Unless the starting keeper gets injured, or he somehow moves to a team where he gets regular playing time, he is not a safe option at goalkeeper. If he doesn't play regularly for his club, he doesn't belong as the starting goalkeeper for one of the best sides at the international level. He has shown that he is losing his positioning and reflexes in dealing with certain basic plays over the past several matches. IF he begins to play regularly and maintains his sharpness, there would likely be no argument by anyone here regarding his starting status. He isn't starting, he isn't maintaining sharpness, and a keeper that plays regularly and gets man of match performances is a better option than a keeper that does not play at all. Reflexes die. Positional awareness deteriorates. He isn't Iker Casillas, and he never will be. And even Iker's spot as starter with Spain is coming into question now that he doesn't start regularly for Real.Do I think Romero would be the logical starter if he played regularly for his club? Barring disastrous performances, yes. But, unfortunately, that it a moot point so long as he isn't playing.I think Andujar is the logical choice given his tenure with the national team and his regular appearances for his club. Yes, Catania is not doing well, but they hardly have a world class squad. Even if Monaco wins the title in France, if Romero doesn't play he hardly deserves any credit for it.A goalkeeper that plays day in and day out for a poor squad that wins nothing (and plays at least solid or even well regularly) is better than a goalkeeper who is on a championship squad but doesn't even play at all. Hopefully Romero gets to a place where he plays regularly and plays well to moot this issue entirely. Until then, and unless that happens, Sabella has already acknowledged that he cannot be the logical first choice as keeper, and is monitoring the situation accordingly. Arglover (South Africa) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 2:49 PM 1 Another Roma game starting and sadly I cant eagerly wait for it like I did last year when a certain Erik Lamela used to starred for them, now he has been sacrificed for overrated British players, My eyes are in tears remembering those days, Oh! Erik, why it happened to you? ? Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 2:43 PM 1 Wow, I cant believe we're still discussing Tevez. I was a big supporter of El Apache coming back to the NT team but that ship sailed a long time ago.Argentina has enough offensive threats minus Tevez to play for 3 separate NTs and then some.Sabella is basically finalizing his squad with few additions here and there, just as he should at this time.I'm against resting Messi for the entire season as some have suggested, he needs his playing time to be the Messi we all know and nobody can predict the future so whatever happens is going to happen unless Tata plays him into the ground which he wont. rey (United Kingdom) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 2:07 PM 0 @argentubenIf we are going on the basis of trophy cabinet. Please tell me what Willy's accomplishments are. argentuban (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:51 PM 0 Messi is an accomplished 4 time World Player of the Year coming off of an injury.Romero is a bench warming goalkeeper no one seems to want.Comparing the two situations doesn't hold water. LM10 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:34 PM 0 Oh yea I was gonna forget.. PERFECT EXAMPLE .. b4 scolari came back to .coach Brazil, it was Diego Alves the regular keeper.. In a short period of time Scolari brought J. Cesar to the team... and then we all know what happen at the Confederations LM10 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:26 PM 0 Diego Lopez and Casillas, joe hart now, plenty examples.. To reach some goals, you need sacrifices KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:25 PM 0 Palacio 1 goal and a assist to Ricky Alvarez today..Palacio on fire!!! rey (United Kingdom) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:03 PM 0 Thank you for all your responses @rey. Tevez was the perfect call up against Uruaguay where all of our top stars were absent.I know Tevez has had many chances with the NT, and most of the time he has been good. And in reality his time at the moment is over with the NT.I was just making a point that it is bait weird how most of these Wily fans dismissed all the good Romero has done, because currently he is not playing. And using this opportunity with Messi not 100% fit to show how ridiculous it is to day this!!Just as Messi will be fit for the WC, so will Romero!! Lets not introduce strangers into the NT so close to the WC. Amlan (Bangladesh) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:55 PM 0 @DonDappaDappa: No one looks happy in that photo :D KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:21 PM 1 Guys I dont know, but you tell me if this Messi look happy? He doesn't look happy to me..https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BYKWjYsCQAIUN3w.jpg:large KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:13 PM 0 I was never a Willy fan per se but he's obviously better than Romero that's why I wanted him on the team. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:11 PM 0 Sweden is a better playing team than Portugal at the moment..Plus Sweden has other reliable goal scorer other than Zlatan, I see Sweden making it over Portugal. With Zlatan inclusion it gives Sweden the edge, I rather see Zlatan at the world cup than Ronaldo, I don't need to see Ronaldo posing for the cameras like he usually do or being the last one out the dressing room because he has to put on make up...France vs Ukraine is a toss up in my book, France just haven't been great in these qualifiers while Ukraine have impress throughout qualifying.. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:04 PM 0 Two example here to proved Messi is not fit..Fabregas played him a through ball right between the Espanyol defenders and Messi was struggling to out sprint the defenders, something he use to do with ease before..Another Example was El Clasicco when he couldn't out sprint Pepe.. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:02 PM 0 Lamela wasting is talent at Spurs cant even make the team over some of football most overrated players..Why oh why did you move to Spurs Lamela? Cant even get a start over these overrated players..smh..Lamela>>>>Spurs. argentuban (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 11:36 AM 1 Points to be made on Tevez versus Willy:1) Tevez has had considerable opportunities with the NT, and has failed. Worse, he has proven to be a selfish cancer.2) Tevez plays a position where Argentina are overloaded with talent and team players.3) We have no reliable goalkeeper, period. It will not be Caballero at the World Cup, sadly. Thankfully, it will not be Tevez either. At this point, we just have to hope Andujar becomes a solid option for us. Romero will not get playing time. krishna (India) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 11:23 AM 0 @rey, What can Willy fans do now?... the team is already announced.... so all the willy fans are silenced..... Pino (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 11:20 AM 0 Sabella and Tata know, Messi won everything all ready in Europe. Let Neymar, Sanchez, Pedro and ......etc, get playing time, make lots of goals... etc, the media knows as well, that Sabella and Tata are resting Messi for the World Cup, but they have to sell papers and say Messi hasn't been scoring goals...This is a strategy, there's tons of games left, were going to keep hearing Messi stories that his injured and is not 100%, (as plan). Shinobushinobu (Singapore) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 10:44 AM 0 @abs: Messi seems to say that he needs playing time to reach his best. I mean, it's what I read from his comment. I think he will try to do things slowly and understand the importance of next year. LM10 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 10:34 AM 0 I think Tottenham could do much better. AVB is another Mancini smh Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 9:27 AM 0 La Pulga under Pep used to never get hurt while everybody around did just that every now and then.He had him on a strict diet that went away when he did. Plain and simple, get him back on the same regiment!! LM10 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 9:07 AM 0 Whoever wins today between Spurs and Everton is taking the 2nd place in the EPL. I do think AvB is a little clueless right now. Too much talents in hands too manage smh Mafioso (Bangladesh) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 9:04 AM 0 What's wrong with AVB?Holtby and Lennon starts over Eriksen and Lamela? Some sort of jokes,I guess.. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 8:47 AM 0 off topic: But Spurs is going to finish where they always finish, either 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th place in the league..Spurs is just loaded with a bunch of OVERRATED players and Dofoe and Townsend are the biggest OVERRATED PLAYERS on that squad. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 8:28 AM 0 rey>>. Tevez have gotten countless of chances, and he haven't delivered for Argentina..Willy now as not be tested by Argentina. arg2014 (Canada) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 8:28 AM 0 I wish Sweden get qualified over Portugal.....they will be more fun to watch in the WC than the boring Portuguese team. Sweden always have open play with speed and they can provide a surprise anytime. yo (Malaysia) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 7:31 AM 0 though Messi is imcomparable but to be honour, Ronaldo is the one of greatest player in the world. LM10 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 6:29 AM 1 Some people have a loser mentality I swear. That's a shame smh As talented as players like Aimar was, he was never given a chance!!!! Thats something I will never get over with LM10 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 6:22 AM 0 Monaco was only taking part of too tournaments this year: the Ligue 1, and the French Cup. They recently got knocked out of the French Cup which is the only time Romero would have got a chance of playing. Now you know what that means? He has to hope that subasic get injured in order for him to get some mins. Deb (India) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 6:11 AM 1 @rey: Here I am, bro. A Willy fan. U got anything to say? Messi losing form and Romero doing that are not the same thing at all. Messi at his best is perhaps the best football player ever. Romero at his best is not the best keeper ever, and most probably not a better stopper than Willy Caballero even. You don't need to be a Willy fan to take note of that, do you? rey (United Kingdom) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 6:01 AM 0 Oh my God everyone!!! Let's call Tevez!! he is on fire (why don't he make a youtube video and send it Sablla) just like Willy. This is the a similar situation with our goal keeper! Where are all the Willy fans now!! Deb (India) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 5:55 AM 0 http://madrid-barcelona.com/2013-11-01/polemicas-declaraciones-de-mascherano-en-el-grafico/"Lionel Messi is aware what he's been through with injuries over the last year and is trying to pace himself to reach the World Cup in the best possible shape." LM10 (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 5:22 AM 0 Tata work this kid out a lot man.. he covers much more spaces, do much more runnings, has to participate in ball recovery.. As a Messi die hard fan, I dont really like that. If Messi was able to play 50+ games in the previous seasons, he Surely wont be able to do so this year. Nowadays, im more afraid when Messi is on the field, then when he is on the sidelines because he's super exposed. Deb (India) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 4:51 AM 2 @arg2014: Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't need to fear picking an injury because he is not travelling to Brazil next year anyway. Let him play all these meaningless league matches and score as many he wants. While Messi takes his rest, goes fresh into the world cup and gives his best shot at touching that cup of glory and cement his place among the all-time greats in football.Different things at stake, you see? :) arg2014 (Canada) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 4:26 AM 0 @Abs: I agree with you...he should be rested....look at Jordi Alba, he's taking more than expected time for his recovery. I think Messi likes to earn more money, and who wouldn't? I'm surprised that Ronaldo hasn't got injured, I mean long term injury for years now.....what kind of training or diet he is on? just surprising considering the difficult tackles, run, and speed he's been on which are all risky. I still believe that fitness has to do with genetics, body type, immune system, neurology and muscle fibres of body parts. Abs (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:44 AM 0 If he isn't above 90% fit he shouldn't play !! yo (Malaysia) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 2:35 AM 0 i have said before. don t worry, he just is not enough fit yet.... lookingdowhhole (Indonesia) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:10 AM 0 For me, winning the 2014 world cup with argentina is far more important than ballon d' or/la liga...hopefully he will be in the top form in Brazil! pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:02 AM 0 I have no problems if messi is not fit most of the season expect for the 6 weeks of the world cup as this year that is all that matters. Kenneth (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:22 AM 1 They should rest Messi until the world cup starts, i would be okay with that...obviously playing Argentina games in between. Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:04 AM 0 Remember how many were getting on Super Kun's case toward the end of the last EPL season and the beginning of this one, he's not the same player that took the English League by storm, he's a one year wonder, the savior of ManCity is no more blah blah blah....Now these same people and many more have been praising the hell out of him.... screw them before and even more now Johnny (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:58 AM 0 Good to hear Messi talking about his fitness. Maybe that will prevent a lot of needless gossip and rumors. Some of which I've been involved in.:) Leandro (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:56 AM 0 @Dfox, the common sense answer is never the right one when conspiracy and tabloid melodrama is proposed.Vamos Messi!
