We have another promising player, number 13, Christian Pavon. He's a high energy player with great determination. He came as a sub in the second half and was all over the place. His energy is like that of Di Maria.I think the guys did not play worse than Mexico. It is just they were immature. When they conceded a goal, they were "so mad" at the Mexicans that they wanted to equalize right away. Much like our attitude when Germany scored the first goal in the QF of the World Cup 2010. The players overall have good quality. Good ball control, teamwork, defense, marking. They just need to work more on finishing (for the strikers) and speed (for everyone). The World Cup u-20 will be held in 2015. Most of these players will be 19 by the time. So I guess we'll see a lot of them in the World Cup u-20. Of course there will be South American qualifiers before it, but I think we'll be qualified this time.Be sure to see Mammana, Ibanez, Tripichio, Sanchez, Driussi, Pavon again in the World Cup U-20 in 2 years. Hope they will make a good progress. Combine them with players 1 year older than them (they all will be 19 (born in 1996) by the tournament. We can have players who are 20 years of age in 2015 (born in 1995)), we will make a good squad! Abs (United States) Posted on 11/6/2013 at 2:30 AM 1 Some one in Mundo guessed it right, he said Argentina will play Sweden :p cleanball (Indonesia) Posted on 11/5/2013 at 10:03 PM 0 End of the journey; Mexico vs Nigeria in the final. However, it is still a good achievement Few players are doing quite well and potential Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/5/2013 at 10:41 AM 0 So much for that el principe (United States) Posted on 11/5/2013 at 8:33 AM 0 We lost... it's 33 minutes already. We are down 2-0 and Joaquin Ibanez gets red carded. It all started with Driussi miss penalty in the 3rd minute... KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 11:05 AM 0 el principe:: I remember Mexico beating Brazil for the Confederation cup title..Mexico also defeat Brazil a couple times at Copa America and they defeat Brazil in the USA back in 2012 and again they defeat Brazil for the Olympic GOLD, Brazil just most recently break their defeated spell vs Mexico at the last confederation cup and if Mexico was in top gear I believe they would have defeated Brazil again at the last Confederation cup..You could see the relief by the players and fans after Brazil scored in that game especially the second goal. el principe (United States) Posted on 11/4/2013 at 3:45 AM 0 When it comes to senior team, Mexico tend to do better against Brazil than against Argentina. I can't remember the last time Mexico beat us, but they did Brazil a few times in the last 10 years. I would like a second round in the World Cup of Brazil vs. Mexico. That'd be great. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 10:30 PM 0 dfox Argentina for most of the times always have the upper hand on Mexican teams at youth world cups while Mexico have always been problem for Brazil at these youth championship. For me Argentina has the better team over Mexico in this tournament especially our boys got better and will only get even better. Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 10:04 PM 0 I don't know about that Don, Nigeria is pretty good and the Mexicans aren't too shabby either. I'm just glad Brazil and Uruguay are out of it, I didn't want to see either win anything and ARG are the S. America champs and they need to play as such. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 9:41 PM 0 Finale will be Argentina vs Sweden. cleanball (Indonesia) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 9:38 PM 0 Surprise but keep moving on. Uruguay and Brazil lost was a great shocked; 24 pk shoots, anyway, Arg youth did a great job and salute to Humberto Grondona;its a wonderful achievement so far and go for Champion KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:02 PM 0 I watch the entire game where Argentina dominate Ivory Coast in the entire first half scoring 2 goals and sat back in the second half giving Ivory Coast way too many possession in the last 18 mins and to tell you the truth Argentina dominate the game until Ivory Coast score like in the 70 plus minute. I did not like the sit back strategy of the Argentina management in the second half. Pachorra (Vatican City State) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:43 PM 0 Remember these are 16-17 year lod kids under the direction of Humbrtito Grondona... Do not expect these guys to play like Braca or the absolute squad... hi2suresh (India) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 11:07 AM 0 Unfortunately I saw only from 2nd half & to be honest we played like shit, we didn't even make 4 consecutive passes...not sure how the other semifinalists are...keeping my fingers crossed, good luck arg u17 get the cup home atleast it vil fill our thirst temporarily. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 8:42 AM 0 @lookingdowhhole>>''I am not sure, are we going to survive against mexico in semifinal? The way they play was too risky especially with African team''The same people were saying we weren't going no where after our draw with Iran..Why do you people even bother to be Argentina fans..A lot of you guys don't come off as true fans but bandwagoners. KidultHood (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 8:36 AM 0 Yet Argentina has produce another generation of great and young up coming players..it never stop!!! krishna (India) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 4:53 AM 0 Good writeup elprincipe... S its really good to see talent of these fullbacks... Tripichio looks solid in defense... I'm very much impressed with first two you mentioned.... and our goalie also looks impressive...also suarez?..... boy he can dribble.....a typical argentine.... el principe (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 4:32 AM 0 U17 players are a bit too young to judge. Some alumnae from U17 have successfully had a good career such as Tevez, Cambiasso, and Veron. Around 20% others made it to the national team, with at least one cap. However more than 50% of them never made it to the national team. That doesn't mean that this U17 won't make the national team someday, though. I just don't believe we'll see a lot of them in our national team in the future. Those who have good chance to make the national team in the future because of their outstanding quality at the age of 17 are:1. Emanuel Mammana, our next Roberto Ayala.2. Nicolás Tripichio, finally we produce an attacking right back.3. Joaquin Ibanez, our left back with the size and body of Rojo, with the positioning and work rate of Juan Pablo Sorin, with the scoring instinct of Roberto Carlos. The best left back in the tournament, the best left back U 17 in the world is from Argentina, not Brazil! How rare is that? It's as rare as finding another Messi.4. Matias Sanchez, our deep lying playmaker. Very elegant.5. Sebastian Driussi, our future number 9. So far, the only good thing about him is his bazooka shooting.Others are just good, but not that special. These 5 are above average. If they keep on improving, we'll hear their names a lot more 5-10 years from now.One thing about our squad of U 17 this year. A lot of them must work on physical attributes. Other than our wing backs, almost all of other players are SLOW. They have great ball control, technique, dribbling for players under 17, but their speed and quickness are pathetic. Just like Andres D'Alessandro, Riquelme, Ibagaza, or Banega. All of them have great skils but are very slow for their size.WC U20 though is a better barometer. A lot of WC U20 alumnae make it to the national team today or in the past. Pretty much all of our best players were from there including Messi and Maradona, our best 2 players ever. Abs (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 3:43 AM 0 Bring on Mexico .. But the problem is, once we beat Mexico we are out of the competition .. I hate the Mexican jinx !! lookingdowhhole (Indonesia) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 1:26 AM 0 I am not sure, are we going to survive againts mexico in semifinal? The way they play was too risky especially with african team Dfox (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:39 AM 0 Aside from the pompous attitude, he's doing well. some supporter (Argentina) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:26 AM 0 Oh he is, Alex, he had a deplorable attitude last year when they won the Sudamericano. He's irascible and barrabrava-esque, he's just stayed away from the media this time. Alex (United States) Posted on 11/3/2013 at 12:11 AM 0 Give Grondona Jr some credit. I thought he was going to crash and burn. I still think he should not be the coach, but the team could have performed worse. Perhaps he's not the cancer that his father is.
