Alejandro SABELLA has stated that Germany, Spain and Brazil are the favorites to win the World Cup next year and some interesting quotes.
Alejandro SABELLA has stated that the three countries are favorites next year with Argentina behind them. Here's what he had to say:
"Spain and Germany are a step above the rest. After that is Brazil because they will be playing at home and after that it's us because we have a lot of potential. But the others are the favorites. That's not to say that with the team that we have and the pride that we possess we're not going to try, we're going to try and win the World Cup."
"The first half was very good, we controlled the ball well and we had goalscoring opportunities. In the second half, they were more dangerous. There was a period of 20 minutes in which we struggled to get the ball. We had highs and lows. We're going to watch the videos. It didn't look like a penalty kick."
"We have two matches in the United States, on the 15th and the 18th of November. We're going to see and evaluate if there's a player to look for (call-up) for a position on the team. And we have another match in March against Romania, we'll see if we're going to need a specific player".
There's a lot of information behind these quotes. Anyone who watched the game with audio will have heard SABELLA yell out instructions to several players. The part of the other three teams being the favorites is true. Despite it being our C team against Uruguay, I get the impression SABELLA wasn't too happy.
The big thing to look at is the final paragraph. The part about looking for a player in a specific position. That could be Willy CABALLERO or even no one.
