His shooting is as accurate as Lampard's or Gerrard's. If Sabella takes him to the WC, that's OK. He'd be just a back up. He is also a very good PK shooter.I think there should be 2 back ups for the attacking midfielders. Maxi, Augusto Fernandez, Lamela are fighting for 2 spots. Maybe the likes of Sosa and Montillo still have a small chance to compete.Btw, Gino Peruzzi wasn't called up. What happens? Does that mean that Sabella prefers Ansaldi now as right back back up? KidultHood (United States) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 2:39 PM 0 I like Maxi for Argentina, he has always been one of my favorite player..Just think he made a wrong move to Liverpool, even when he was on form at Liverpool scoring consistently the coach still bench him..But in a world cup quarter final, semifinal or final I rather see Maxi Rodriquez coming off the bench than Brana and Guinazu any day.. argentuban (United States) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 2:38 PM 0 It was good to see so much cohesion offensively without Higuain, but he would have been missed badly had we been playing a team like Germany with a healthy Schweinsteiger or Brazil. Also, the defending was bad. A higher quality team would have taken more advantage of the lapses.Biglia will continue to improve, we still need a left back solution, and I worry about the CB pairing if Garay is not healthy and Fernandez does not play much this season.Hopefully they call up A & B teams from here on out to fill in the gaps and make sure people know the systems/tactics well enough should there be any injuries (which there will be) prior to the final selection. ThongLyPaTra (Sweden) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 7:50 AM 1 I missed the match. Looked very good!Just one question, Kun wore number 20 instead of his regular 16? I think he should wear 11 in the World Cup. The Fanstatic Four will be: 7,9,10,11. Eh, I didnt mean to add number 8 (you know who) to make the Fantastic Five, lol. argentine (Ghana) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 5:26 AM 0 yea, lovely scoreline.what we need now is strong cohesive defenders . Toby (United Kingdom) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 4:15 AM 0 Well that was a lovely result to wake up to :)Brazil here we come! Emon (Bangladesh) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 3:47 AM 0 @Gaucho4133 Maxi Rodriguez has two world cup experiences. A world cup experienced player always needed in the world cup. Maxi is very useful player and always plays by heart for national team. He can do wonder. Looked in 2006 WC against Mexico, Argentina won the match by his wonder goal at extra time. I would choose him over Rodrigo Brana or Pablo Guiñazú for WC 2014. arg2014 (Canada) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 3:25 AM 0 no Maxi Rodriguez proved many times he's a world class player, great finisher although he's a midfielder.....I really want him as a sub....not afraid of scoring like some people I mean "some chicken". Gaucho4133 (Switzerland) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 1:57 AM 1 Hey allWho thinks that maxi rodriguez go to WC2014 ?I hope that a younger player have this chance... flaco (Canada) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 1:06 AM 1 REMAINING GAMES 2014 World Cup Qualifying :Friday, October 11, 2013 :6:00 ET Argentina vs PeruTuesday, October 15, 2013: 6:00 ET Uruguay vs Argentina flaco (Canada) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:56 AM 0 @ Dfox i agree with you. But i think El pocho does his job. He is the one that does all the presuring and tracking back on dfence to keep either Messi, Koon,or Pipita fresh. I think thats what Coach wants him to do for most part. flaco (Canada) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:51 AM 0 Argentina needs a 5th player that can score on a regular basis just like the fantastic 4. And tighen up the dfence and we good. Dfox (United States) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:51 AM 0 Birdman and el pocho, both are loose cannons. flaco (Canada) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:48 AM 0 In my opinion Basanta is a better player at LEFTBACK than ROJO. ROJO is way too slow, and he tends sit back. flaco (Canada) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:43 AM 1 El Pocho is a figther. I think he played his role well. He tracked back to help recover the ball. And he linked well with his teammates on the 1,2,3 touches. He is not a natural scorer. But i believe his energy and what he brings to the team help a lot. He is like THE BIRDMAN OF THE MIAMI HEAT for Argentina. flaco (Canada) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:40 AM 2 Palacio had his chances i think now its time for Sabella to try new strikers. Bombonera (Kenya) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:39 AM 0 @Dfox, thanks for your remarks,so this guy needs better form , now i feel sick should he not get first start at monaco Dfox (United States) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:22 AM 0 He thought it was going one way and it went the other, lacking of concentration, overcommitting, lack of playing time..... whatever it is he needs to fix it. Bombonera (Kenya) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:22 AM 0 so Romero could not break the difficult name wc90 goalkeeper record, damn , anywayz good trial young boy Bombonera (Kenya) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:17 AM 0 can anyone please explain how we concede first goal??am abit shocked and disappointed with Romero marindrianto (Indonesia) Posted on 9/11/2013 at 12:15 AM 0 Okay. Dfox (United States) Posted on 9/10/2013 at 11:47 PM 0 We still have a long way to go haman, patience and humility my friend. El Pocho el pocho el pocho and Palacio, both missed easy goals. haman (Bahrain) Posted on 9/10/2013 at 11:45 PM 0 Rebound, we are counter killers! With Higuain there, who would stop us!
