Franco DI SANTO and MASCHERANO on team

Franco DI SANTO and Javier MASCHERANO spoke about the team.

Franco DI SANTO spoke about being with the team and Javier MASCHERANO commented the upcoming matches. Here's what DI SANTO had to say:

"I'm happy to be part of the Argentina national team. This is my first in a World Cup qualifier. I hope I get to play a bit."

"It's a very proud moment for me or any footballer to share a training session or anything with a player like Lionel MESSI".

Here's what Javier MASCHERANO said:

"Mathematically, we will not be qualified with the six points, but it would be very difficult for it to escape from us,” he told reporters on Tuesday."

"We would be three quarters [through] the passage [to the World Cup]. We must get there but it will not be easy. Winning and accumulating points always makes everything a little bit better."

"Beyond that, the group is competitive, there are good teams. I do not like the atmosphere of optimism and euphoria very much. I prefer a different atmosphere because that is what makes you keep your attention."

His tackling style is so.. what to say its brutalone he slides from nowere that too 2 leged. Its risky, but as u said I too likes this guy. He deserves his place in the team only thing he got wrong is his age but thats not at all a matter,He has the attitude thats what matters and he is making the full use of his late carrer selection to the NT i m sure if he is in WC he will surely be a monster bcoz its his last grab,

Haha yes Johnny, the man was born to scare rivals, luckily for us.

And Mik, actually the impression I got when I first saw Guiñazú, is that he looks like a real gaucho. As a matter of fact, I still think of him that way — a lonely man in the vast plains of a football field only accompanied by his horse (which, for the analogies' sake, will necessarily have to be Mascherano) ready to fight anyone anytime. Guiñazú may not have a facón to stab you to death, but he's got two sharp feet and a hell of an attitude! No wonder I like him so much.

by GOD's grace, Argentina is looking more and more solid , day by day. 2 yrs earlier , i had no hope of argentina winning world cup 2014, but my my, it might happen that argentina might surprise(pleasantly) us all and perform the unthinkable at 2014 by winning it. What an answer it will be to those guys who always brings up spain and germany to any football debate.Though still a lot of improvement is required , but argentina is day by day converting to a monster counter attacking team.

@Neel, Castrol Ranking clearly shows who is inform and who is not. It is not about technique or quality of a player. What Castrol do? "They objectively analyse player performance, tracking every move on the field and assessing whether it has a positive or negative impact on a team's ability to score or concede a goal."
As Leandro mentioned, Higuain is a " is a monster at converting goals per minutes played". Thats absolutely true. Higuain is more consistent than Aguero and Higuain has best eye on goals. Hes better than Aguero in terms of being in right place in right time.

@el principe, yeah.. its funny.. there is a lot of similarities with the Fab4 and Barca.. the only real difference is the lack of quality wingbacks.

@Neel, Higuain ranks super high because he is a monster at converting goals per minute played. I also feel Aguero is a more decisive forward.. BUT.. what makes Pipita world class is that he finds the net fast and consistently. I think last year (or 2) Pipita had the highest goal scoring ratio per minute out of any player, remember he kept Madrid alive before Mou came in.. and he refuses to die. Mou making public statements that he prefers Benzema, having back surgery, etc.. Higuain comes out every minute he is given and stuffs the ball in the back of the net. Cant argue with numbers.

But... they are both ours to use in the team.. wua ha ha ha ha.. why worry? :)

Off Topic....never understand the logic behind Castrol rankings...I honestly feel that Aguero is leaps and bounds ahead of Higuain but still lags him by a stretch in the rankings...in fact Aguero is one of the top 5 strikers right now as per me...

I just read a very interesting interview here. Maybe Roy can post it here soon:

http://www.ole.com.ar/seleccion/titulo_0_886111411.html

by Hernan Claus

It basically says:
1. Sabella does not want to change the fantastic four tactic because that is what Messi wants and he wants Messi to be happy.

2. Messi wants someone to have a role of "left playmaker" where Di Maria was there (remember I said that Di Maria is kind of "wing playmaker" for us?). That is why now it is given to Montillo who won the spot against Maxi Rodriguez (not Sosa).

3. After the loss against Venezuela (our only loss under Sabella) in WCQ where we started 3 of the fantastic four: Di Maria, Messi, and Higuain. Messi asked the team to play with los cuatro fantásticos (fantastic four): Di Maria, Aguero, Messi, and Higuain.

4. Higuain will play like David Villa; Lavezzi like Pedro; and Messi like Messi.

5. Messi who has scored 18 in a row is in a great form and will try to break Maradona and Crespo goal scoring record.

Messi has 31, Maradona has 34, and Crespo has 35. The all time leader is Batigol with 56.

Masche has a qualify of good leadership. The winning of upcoming two games will bring the euphoria no doubt and opposite outcome if Tango could not make it.

Yes, I completely agree with Leandro and hi2suresh. In fact, took the words out of my mouth. I'm betting Masche will some day be a coach, and with the potential to be a good one.

Also, its nice to see him comment about the NT without seeming to be irritated. I think he went through a tough spell with Diego and Batista. His comments through that period often reflected a player who was not happy with the NT. None of that now, and another indication of what Sabella has brought to the La Seleccion.
