Lucas BIGLIA admits to problems

Lucas BIGLIA has admitted that he has been going through problems recently.

In an interview with Het Nieuwsblad, Lucas BIGLIA says that he was on the edge of depression.

"Was I depressed? I'd say that I was on the edge of a depression. They prescribed me all kinds of medicines. There were some anti-depressants among them, but I immediately told my wife that I wasn't taking those."

"I'm still using medication and Anderlecht know all about it. The most important thing for me is that I know what the problem is. I set myself too many objectives."

"It hurts that some people doubted me. This was more than just migraine. I now realise that there's more to life than just football."

That would be an explination as to why BIGLIA probably hasn't been called-up lately.

If you can’t handle the heat get the F out the kitchen is the saying! I love all my fellow Argentine players but they can come and go as the please. I’m actually happy with the CORE players on our squad now. Yielding excellent results and chemistry has been a major factor in our new squad. Guiñazu is an excellent player to have in certain games. Besides, there’s so much talent out there that could be potentially on our final squad it’s a real competition among top “in form” players. Pastore, Lamela, Gaitan, Biglia,Banega, Montillo, T.Costa,Sosa, etc would all love a role on the team but at this point it’s all about the tactical formation Sabella is using. Some of them would be great while others. Maybe not so great or terrible. Gago, DiMaria and Mascherano are pretty stable there so the competitions is fierce. Sad to see players crack under pressure. Lots of luck and keep your head up. Heck I’d like to see Aimar given a chance as a super sub :o) I would bet anything that will not be happening. LOL

@leandro I am saying that I understand him, biglia is not known for being a troublemaker, is a good player and at a young age has become captain of his team, and even jeopardized his future for the national team(remember copa america), no doubt he deserves a chance especially considering that he is without a doubt better than brana and guainzu, it pains me to mention their names because it is not their fault, they are living their dream, I dont have nothing against them, who would turn down a chance to play for Argentina? I have problems with the people who choose players based on nepotism, this is a competitive sport, not an private company, as a fan I want and demand the best to have best chance of winning not to bring your bodies and friends to the party, some people will not understand what I am talking, some will be happy if we win 3-0, I will not be because I want to win 1000000000000-o, there is always room for improvement, nepotism has cost us World cups!
saviola: I love this guy to death, but he is a money chaser, nobody prevented him becoming great, he had no ambition, just wanted money.
tevez: I love him also to death, had many chances, his problem is him being him.nobody can help him, balotelli, or cassano.
kaka:yes at real, but he was a product of a system, and his pace,of course he was going to decline.
and you mentioned HIGUAIN:1 of my favorite players, I respect this guy and you are right, I got nothing but admiration for his struggle and how he always overcomes all those odds.

@Ghostdeini, I also feel for the kid.. as I did for Tevez homesickness.. and Agueros home troubles.. etc, etc, all surely strained due to their career choices. Still, life WILL hit you in the face. You WILL not achieve your desired goals most of the time, atleast exactly as you wanted. But what you want and what you need are not always the same, and the sign of success is someone that makes the best with what they are given. If Biglia is breaking now, he is not ready for a top flight club.. look at players like Kaka or Pipita or Saviola who where marginalized at different stages in their carreers.. thats much worse than what he is going through now.. at the end, nothing bad happend.. just nothing good.

So far Biglia did very well, he is an idol in his league for a top flight team there.. he needs to stay positive and push himself harder.. meds, depression, etc.. that gets you further from the goal.. never an excuse. Gotta stay positive, train harder, enjoy the journey, even if you wake up in the worst possible circumstances and life is never fair to you. At the end, your challenges make you stronger. I would rather have a Biglia play for us in 4 years who has overcome the adversity than some player whose hand is held into the national team, the key ingredient is character. Real men have that. Real teams have that. Winning teams have that. If Banega cant handle it, he should be off the team.. if Biglia cant either he should be off the team.. you need players like Lavezzi and Aguero, etc, etc that will sit happy on the sidelines and wait their shot.. then deliver the payload.

empathy is what I have for biglia!
just imagine yourself being him, as a boy you started playing football, you were born in a country where football is religion, your dream is to become one of the best players in the world, and your biggest dream is to win the world cup with Argentina, later on money enters, you become a slave of the system, you chose to leave your country and your family for your career, probably couldnt dicate where you land, regardless give your best on the pitch and have good performances, meanwhile you are getting ignored by the national team, you still try to work hard as you can, wants to go to a bigger league to get noticed, to live your dream and win the world cup with your country, but still being ignored, never given a chance, meanwhile you see lesser talented players who dont even come near you with their performances given chance after chance...it doesnt matter how good you are, its all about who you know, If I were him it would pain me seeing that happening to me, of course I would become depressed and so would every competitive human being be who gets treated unfairly and so would you, DONT LIE.

Wish him all the best, he's a fine footballer and far more deserving of a NT spot than the likes of sosa, banega or even tino costa.
