Well no chance in hell he's going to be called... let's be realistic. Tony Montana (United States) Posted on 3/9/2013 at 3:50 AM 0 @elpipita... I'm going to have to check him out... I know I wasn't happy with any player in those c team friendlies against Nigeria and Poland though elpipita (Iraq) Posted on 3/9/2013 at 3:27 AM 0 Honestly I am always saddened by the fact that mateo musacchio hasn't been called up by any of the managers (well batista did call him up for the 'c' team against nigeria and poland). The kid is only 22 but he's got more potential than any defender to come out of argentina since ayala retired. While he's prone to the occasional silly errors, his reading of the game, work ethic, tough tackling and interceptions are world class. I really hope that villareal get back to liga A so he would get a proper chance. Tony Montana (United States) Posted on 3/9/2013 at 3:19 AM 0 Banega, when playing well is world class... I know, thats a big IF but Hopefully Messi and Co can have him focus and show his potential with the NT... Pastoré is slow delivery the ball and even his moves are slow...Lamela is the truth though and will be riquelme's replacement as the next 10 player and a starter in 15 months sulav787 (Canada) Posted on 3/8/2013 at 4:40 PM 0 pastore would get raped against Bolivia..guy should move back to italy.. Fred (Hong Kong) Posted on 3/8/2013 at 1:10 AM 0 @ChainsawGonzalo is good, a very skillful defender with vision, good headers and accurate long passes. But he tends to be too confident, lost several balls when he was the last defender in this season in Fiorentina. Chainsaw (Iran) Posted on 3/8/2013 at 12:27 AM 0 If there are two defenders who deserve to be called up right now it's Roncaglia and Gonzalo. Leandro (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 6:45 PM 0 @Ayrton, in my option, Banega and Pastore are dead weight.. they cant keep up and are not good enough to justify other players having to cover for them. Kenneth (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 6:38 PM 0 @shOvwar not a fan of Pastore to be honest, fantastic alert, but with all of our talent we need consistency and right now Sabella is going for speed and counter attacking, sure from playing in ITaly and now France it can be argued that he is accustomed to that style. HOWEVER, he is to slow with the ball as in he holds it to long, and tries to force the through ball way to much, not in Sabella's plans for a reason. Ayrton18 (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 4:41 PM 0 shOvwar i like ur line up but i would use a 4231 style --------------------------Romero------------------------------------Zabaleta-fernandez-garay-ansaldi--------------------------------macherano-banega------------------------------------- lamela-messi-pastore------------------------------------------higuain-------------------------subs: caballero, campagnaro, peruzzi, costa, gaitan, lavezzi and icardi! shOvwar (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 4:14 PM 1 Anyone can tell me when Sabella is coming out wit his squad list for the Qualifiers against Ven. and Bol?My squad would be something like this._______________________Romero_________________________Zaba________Fernandez_____Garay__________Ansaldi________Lamela__________Mascherano_________Banega___________Higuain_____________LEO___________Pastore_____Angel, Gago and Aguero are out injured.MY SUBS:Lavezzi, Campagnaro, Colo, Icardi, Costa/Montillo.I would love to see Peruzzi and Scocco...But I dont think Sabella would call them...Please gimme your feedback....Thanx Fellas Kenneth (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 4:08 PM 1 Fazio is terrible, for how tall he is he really isn't that good in the air, for how big he is he really isn't that strong. Just no..i don't want him anywhere near the national team. elpipita (Iraq) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 3:08 PM 0 I wouldn't call Fazio a failure, the kid has been marred by injuries for the last few years but he's a very solid defender (tall, great in the air, tough on tackles) very much like Fernandez; also he's doing well for Sevilla and has been so all season.I personally would love to see the pair of Gonzalo Rodriguez and Roncaglia get called up, as a package if you will. The 2 of them have been excellent for Fiorentina and can be a great sub option for the 2 towers. el principe (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 1:28 PM 0 Fazio is a failure. It is sad but true. pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 1:10 PM 0 it is very sad we no longer are producing the classic playmaker, i do agree our counter attack is world class but if that is not working on a given day (it happens just look at barca vs chel or milan) a team has to change its plan and taking off a winger and putting on a winger is what? for me id rathr see lam given a chance he has really impressiss me (he can also play in multi attacking roles), where as lev is a one trick pony who been been ok at psg for ok for the n/t.as we have seen we cant rely defence to win games for us ie shutting up shop we have to stick to the mantra of attack is the best form of defence. Tony Montana (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 11:23 AM 0 Coloccini out maybe Fazio in for a call up? Tony Montana (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 11:20 AM 0 @pablo .d. When argentina doesnt have a plan b, stick to a great and world class plan A! solid defense and a world class counter is a type of game these will be against venezuela and bolivia....much like the Peru game when Lavezzi saved us with a great play and pass to higuain! Argentina doesnt have a creative midfielder xavi type player? lavezzi creates space for other players with his movement and pace...that is a definition of a playmaker, no? Our Creative mids options are aimar, pastore, Sosa and Lamela....someday, and hopefully soon, Erik could be that Plan B, but now lavezzi is the best Playmaker we have after the Fab4.... Aslam (Qatar) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 10:46 AM 0 Rumor...! Lucas Orban to be included..!!! Aslam (Qatar) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 10:17 AM 0 And one more...! Coloccini out for almost 2 months...!!Gonzalo Rodriguez to be called ??? Johnny (Thailand) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 8:56 AM 0 No sweat Roy, here we go with a link to the goal by Carlitos:http://www.soccer-blogger.com/2013/03/04/aston-villa-vs-manchester-city-2013-highlights-0-1-carlos-tevez-goal-video/ msi2 (France) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 8:34 AM 0 elpipita> On the plus side Argentina continues to boast arguably the best attacking talent in all of football so I guess all is not lost.Well the question is for how much time? Johnny (Thailand) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 8:07 AM 1 Roy !! No mention of Tevez's fine dummy and winning goal against Villa ?!! Did I miss it ? elpipita (Iraq) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 5:57 AM 0 You know Pablo.d it just hit me the other day that I haven't heard from Pablito Aimar in quite a while and I found out that he's been out due to injury, I guess he's still fighting those niggling injures that plagued his career. Its quite sad really, Argentina used be like a revolving door of world class enganches ranging form the likes of Neberto Alonso & Ricardo Boccini (neither of whom were chosen by Minotti for 78 WC) to el Diego then Veron, Aimar and Riquelme. Now....there is nobody! so sad! And the same goes for the great defenders like Pasarella, Ruggeri, Zanetti, Sorin, Ayala and Samuel. On the plus side Argentina continues to boast arguably the best attacking talent in all of football so I guess all is not lost. el principe (United States) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 4:44 AM 0 Lavezzi is our 12th man meaning that he is the first player that should be played whenever we need a sub. Kind of like 6th man in the NBA. Officially he's the back up of any of Aguero-Messi-Higuain, whoever is tired/unavailable. I don't think he can back up Di Maria, though. Lavezzi can easily play right winger, but he's even more attacking minded than Di Maria. If you suggest Lavezzi-Messi-Aguero-Higuain, there you officially have 4-2-4.As for Venezuela, they'll park the bus. So if we're smart, let's keep playing 4 attacking minded player. 3 attackers (Messi-Aguero-Higuain) plus a mediocre attacking midfielder like Perez or Salvio or Sosa is not enough. We need creativity in midfield, let's see if Lamela makes the list tonight/tomorrow.As for Bolivia, well the game at La Paz is like a whole new world. There is no guarantee that if we start our fantastic four plus the best starting line up we can think of, we will manage a victory. We need players with good stamina/good work rate against Bolivia + Messi. That's all we need. Bolivia is scary at home. They seemed to play better against big teams when playing at home. Johnny (Thailand) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 3:10 AM 0 Yes, I might make a wager that Montillo could be called by Sabella to check in for Gago. But, not a large wager. pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 2:21 AM 0 elpipita very true sir or even aimar could do the role as aimar still has more then enough left to offer the n/t. elpipita (Iraq) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 1:47 AM 0 @pablo.d I think walter montillo might fit that bill, infact he's about closest thing the NT has to the classic enganche. pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 3/7/2013 at 12:14 AM 0 we need a playmaker instead of a lavezzi type of player as our plan b, another speedy winger is no differant to what we will have as starers (if every one is fit in in form) and if for some reason the f4 are having an off day we need a plan b not another plan a. Tony Montana (United States) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 10:59 PM 0 @ Kenneth. Good point about chemistry... Kenneth (United States) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 10:53 PM 0 Don't forget earlier when Kun was Injured Sabella still called him up, he likes to call up injured players because of the chemistry it brings. Which IMO is good, but this time it seems as if we have to many injuries and am hoping for an Lamela call up, and i guess icardi..idk he's very young. Tony Montana (United States) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 10:47 PM 0 Lavezzi creates space and he is the fastest player we have! Him coming in on a tired defense in minute 65 ! Deadly ! As for these qualifiers he might start for A injured DiMaria....icardi should get a call up but doubt he will play...don't be surprised if Sosa gets a call up with two hurt midfielders in gago and angel... elpipita (Iraq) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 9:08 PM 0 Leandro, you mean like the game against peru? man that was rough, if the game was played anywhere else they would've ended up with 9 or 10 players at the most, as I saw atleast one blatant red card that got waved away.@Roman I am almost certain that icardi will get his call up very soon, if not these upcoming qualifiers then the friendly against Russia. As for Licha well I (and most of us here at mundo) would love nothing more than to see him as pipita's backup but I think the guys exclusion from the NT extends far beyond football, maybe he slept with Gorndona's daughter or wife I don't know (I am only semi-joking here).Tevez's time with the NT is over and I for one say good riddance. Carlitos isn't the type of player who would be happy to sit on the bench and be a backup, he'd just be a poison in the locker rooms and mess the team's dynamic. Abs (United States) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 9:00 PM 1 So, Lavezzi will replace Di Maria ?!Who's ganna replace Gago, and maybe Kun ?!PS. Lavezzi couldn't even finish it from the first time :s Leandro (United States) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 8:25 PM 0 Lavezzi is maturing.. what he has now that he didnt before was control over his panic button.. the reason he could not finish (or cross at the copa) was cause he would get anxious.. he is looking sharp these days. He is a great sub for any of the fav3 up top.. and I think he is a must in the team for the fact that he is not afraid to get rough and gritty when its needed. While I am all for technical futbol.. there are times that we need Garra to overcome physical adversity.. bad or biased refs letting the play get ugly.. thuggy teams, etc. Aslam (Qatar) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 7:42 PM 0 I am sure Icardi will be included in the team for the next game. May be he will replace Franco Di Santo. Roman (Canada) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 7:09 PM 0 damn. i can't hate on him too much since he's an argentino but man he keeps scoring for his clubs when i want lisandro lopez, icardi, tevez and others to get called up for la seleccion ahead of him. oh well..good for him. i just hope he doesn't do something stupid when he wears the albiceleste shirt in a crucial match. elpipita (Iraq) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 7:00 PM 0 I know, back in serie A the guy couldn't finish a ham sandwitch, but now.....Well he seems to hace come a long way. Aslam (Qatar) Posted on 3/6/2013 at 5:22 PM 0 Now Lavezzi scored 5 goals in this season's champions league..!! Would you believe these ?
