Lionel Messi Gets Wicket!

If the title of this article is confusing then perhaps many of our readers here from India, Australia or South Africa could give us a brief explanation about it. In fact, it took me quite a while to fully understand this sport and since then I’ve became an avid follower of it.

Lionel MESSI has once again teamed up with Herbalife in taking his football skills into new territory as part of the global nutrition company’s promotional campaign. This is the third time that MESSI has done similar campaign, the previous two being basketball and table tennis

Maybe this video could give the likes of Graeme SWANN, Shane WARNE, Robin PETERSON, Saeed AJMAL and other spinners a new tutorial on the art spin bowling.

Hope you all enjoy the video.

total population of Bangladesh is 140 million
total population of pakistan is 160 million
total population of srilanka is approximately 25 million
collectively we all call these nations as Indian subcontinent
what similarity with all those people???
they all worship cricket!!!!!

I m from India where cricket is religion. I agree with Tiju Johnson that if a cricket adv was made with Messi for India or Asia then it should feature Sachin Tendulkar who is arguably the greatest cricket batsman ever. Believe me these two are very similar. Success from a very young age, loads of records, justified their talent with performance at the highest level and became number one. Most importantly both are soft spoken, humble and suceess has never gone to their heads. By the way hope Messi had the time to work hard for this ad. Batting was sort of ok but bowling was pathetic...LOL

With a few others, i too agree that the add is a very small one.. if they wanted to think big, they should had SACHIN TENDULKAR along with MESSI...
Now how many here are not familiar with SACHIN TENDULKAR....?? :)

Glad to see Messi with the Cricket ball. But a really poor ad.
if they really wanted to launch Messi into India with cricket - they could have planned and executed it better. Messi and Football can still get into Indian market, why try this game which is played in only less than a dozen countries.

I liked the commercial :)

Messi looks pretty natural on the camera (must be easy playing yourself lol).. its funny.. Diego is a god.. but he was also the WORST possible role model and ambassador for Argentina.. well other than being badass! .. Messi is the complete opposite, a saint. I am holding my disbelief.. Messi sex tape coming up!

:D :D Good to see Messi going global with his fans all across the world. We Love him here in India; in fact Indians are crazy about Argentina football in general for many many decades....

However, I feel the ad agency could've done a more professional work when they had player like Messi in the commercial. The overall quality of the ad i pretty lame, imo..

Well, by the way the ball that Messi spun from outside into the the right-handed batsman and onto the stumps, is called an OFF SPIN ;)

Actually Shane Warne is the Australian leg spinner. he is the greatest leg spin Bowler cricket world has ever seen. others are like Muralidharan, Saeed Ajmal, Graeme Swan, Robin Petersen are off-spinner. however all of them are different type of off-spinner. i would say no one is conventional except Robin Petersen.

hahahah...his batting (Messi)quite okay but the bowling hahah it was so funny to watch he wasn't bowling rather chucking or another word is throwing..or tossing :) but his other bowling(kicking) was a fantastic "off-spin". So I like to add also the great name Muralitharan a Sri Lankan off-spinner with Graeme SWANN, Shane WARNE, Robin PETERSON, Saeed AJMAL

Another thing since it was a high speed shooter from Messi so many of us might see it as a tremendous "in-swing" bowling and then I must mention the name of Wasim Akram, Zahir Khan, Imran Khan etc. You can google "off-spin" and "in-swing" of cricket.
