(United States) Posted on 2/16/2013 at 3:22 PM 0 I agree Leandro, I have rolled my ankle probably a couple dozens times(Have played basketball for all of my life) and most of the time I was able to really walk it off or let it sit for a few days. The cutting, the movement is a different from futbol. I would not say the court is more forgiving then the futbol pitch but the injuries are a bit different. I still cut and move around in futbol, but yes the cutting and movement is a bit different, you cut harder in basketball. But an ACL injury is an ACL injury, I do not think Milito will come back once that he was because of his age. But who knows, if you watch American Football, Adrian Peterson who had 2 ACL injuries before his 26 bday or so, came back better than ever. So, who knows. I never really felt like Milito would make the 2014 team but I do wish him the best of luck and a full and speedy recover. He has done a lot in his career, he is a true champion. Leandro (United States) Posted on 2/16/2013 at 11:29 AM 0 @Johnny, ouch!.. Johnny (Thailand) Posted on 2/16/2013 at 5:39 AM 0 I did my ACL when I was a month shy of 40, and I was never the same.:) Leandro (United States) Posted on 2/16/2013 at 2:17 AM 0 @Jack! those injuries do suck, however playing on grass is ALOT more forgiving on your joints than the hard courts of basketball. Also I am sure the different movements make one type of injury harder on that athelete.. so who knows, the surgery now is top notch, he might make it back sooner than we think.. but his form is gonna be shot. Unless Milito is planning to play for 3 more years so he can end while in good form.. he might want to retire while he has pedigree. Jack! (United States) Posted on 2/15/2013 at 2:36 PM 0 Well Johnny, if you look at Derrick.Rose from the Chicago Bulls, he hurt himself last year around March(same type of injury) and has said he may miss the entire season and he is even 22 or 23 years old. There are others who can come back quicker, but it takes about a year to fully recover. Gunner (Canada) Posted on 2/15/2013 at 11:41 AM 1 Scarface, I wouldn't count on seeing Milito play in Brazil 2014. I'd say there is about a 0% chance of it to be honest. He was never really chosen regularily by any manager in the past, even after his best year when he lead Inter Milan to their terble winning season. And according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the injury could be career ending. Tony Montana (United States) Posted on 2/15/2013 at 2:12 AM 1 Hopefully Diego is healthy for the WC2014... He is our second best #9 behind Gonzalo Johnny (Thailand) Posted on 2/15/2013 at 2:04 AM 0 Yo Jack, and recovery, as well as being the same player much more difficult with age. We remember what happened with Maxi. Jack! (United States) Posted on 2/14/2013 at 11:27 PM 0 If Milito did in fact hurt his ACL/MCL, that takes about a year to recover. Johnny (Thailand) Posted on 2/14/2013 at 10:37 PM 1 Tough news about D Milito. Best wishes for him. Jack! (United States) Posted on 2/14/2013 at 10:27 PM 0 Hooooodraaaaaio Palasssios.. Sorry was doing my Brazilian accent. Gunner (Canada) Posted on 2/14/2013 at 5:56 PM 0 Palacio came on as a sub for an injured Diego Milito. Turns out he torn a knee ligament and had surgery straight away. He is done for the season and tonight could have very well been his last match in an Inter Milan shirt. Get well soon Il Principe! Kenneth (United States) Posted on 2/14/2013 at 5:46 PM 0 Ansaldi played okay, i can see why Sabella doesn't start him, he's a decent tackler and great offensively but in the air and his positioning (more like focus then positioning) isn't that good, also his awareness is pretty poor. He is fast though something Argentina lacks in defense and his offensive capabilities are great, but against an aerial team who throws long balls he's not good. Which is why he was able to excel when played against Barca a few years ago in the champions league.
