MARADONA: "I heard MESSI cry, only MESSI"

Talking to Fox Sports Latin America, Diego MARADONA talked about Argentina's elimination from the last World Cup and Lionel MESSI.

In a lengthy interview, two of the topics MARADONA spoke about was Argentina's elimination from the 2010 World Cup and Lionel MESSI. When asked about the teams elimination, here's what MARADONA said:

"MESSI was the one who cried the most. I'm saying this to all those who say that MESSI doesn't "feel the shirt". I was in a room with MANCUSO and ENRIQUE and we heard MESSI cry. Only MESSI. That's something I will never forget in my life."

About Lionel MESSI:
"Every match that passes by, he does something new and I think it's great."

"Everyone talks about MESSI. Now, the Argentine journalists are MESSI's friends. When MESSI wasn't scoring, he didn't sing the anthem, he was Spanish."

"I think that MESSI makes Barcelona play the way he wants. I think that the last time Xavi was injured, he played deeper and wreaked havoc. You don't have to tell him anything."

Only hope that Messi can win it for Argentina and all will be happy :)

But whatever happens, Messi will always be my hero.

@TonyMontana-I can assure you it was not "media propaganda" when I lived in Argentina, though the anti-Messi population had decreased a lot by the time I left.

Also, and I hope I'm wrong, it wouldn't take much to have the Messi haters in Argentina hating again. An early exit in the WC (or maybe not so early), a few losses in friendlies, trouble in the Qualifiers, you name it. There are people in Argentina constantly looking for an excuse to criticize him. Very sad, but it is the reality.

Argentinos love Lionel ... It's media propaganda saying Los Tinos don't....maybe only a small percentage...

The people outside of Argentina really love Messi. Messi is a hero to them. But there are some Messi haters in our country- they only sing for messi, when Argentina win! Messi is been hurt when seen this damn albiceleste fans. How do you want only from messi- not also the rest of the players. Why people forgetting how he fight with Barça to play Olympic in China and win it..??

il always stick to this if diego kept that solid idea counter attacking going into the world cup and worked on it they coyld have easy won it

that solid side looked unbreakable and solid that would have done so well wen he weakened the midfield against germany after mexico game showed it was risky was totally arrogant...

my wc team was always

maxi of for jonas wen going defensive and maxi of for tevez wen maintaining attacks

solid 4x cb back 4 with players capable of doing it

was watching messi vs sweden , and this bugged me... if aguero passed back the ball to messi in the middle at 4:45 it wouldve been a goal .i hope its because a friendly match cuz theres been some selfishness by some off the fantastic four.

The same way all those retarded people in Argentina were wrong believing they had some 'Special Abilities' like reading peoples mind and feelings, I also see some here thinking they have those abilities too.

Nobody except Messi himself knows what he thinks and feels, and the same goes for Di Maria, Mascherano etc.

As nutty as Diego can be at times, he can also be brilliant and insightful. His comments about Messi wreaking havoc when Xavi was out were dead on target. I love the "good" Maradona !

You could always tell Messi tried his best for the N/T sometimes to hard! He would just get the ball and start to dribble at full speed! The first couple of times were effective then he would get tired, and with no support! Thank God for Sabella is all i can say

No single doubt at all on Messi readiness to contribute and sacrifice for Albiceleste. His passion and commitment for football is unquestionable; he will be the legend and proud of the nation

and whilst messi was crying dimaria was in the toilet inhaling his own shit sent and self worshiping his turds at his real madrid transfer awash with self importance

Maradona is a class. I'm worried about what he will do to get money in the future though. He doesn't seem to be the type that has savings.

It's always good to see Maradona and Messi respect each other because those two are my idols :D.

Messi always wants to win even a friendly. I don't know how people can say he doesn't try hard enough to win especially in world cup. Everybody wants to win WC and bring happiness to the people.
