Garay I feel is more composed, relaxed than Fernandez.. and so he plays pretty consistent regardless of opposition. Fernandez looked a little anxious against Ibra (understandably), but counter to that his anxiety can lead to real inspirational performances.. I like the idea of trying Campagnero paired with Garay while leaving us to try other full backs. Still, as good as Campagnero is in the air, I would hesitate taking Fernandez or Garay out considering our mid and forwards are for the most part midgets.

Its still to early to predict every player thats going to make the cut.Sabella is going to utilize our players the right way(not like Maradona). Also, we finally have a coach under the Messi's "ERA" thats going to find the pieces to the puzzle.Sabella is going to use Banega the right way, as an defensive and holding midfielder and not so much as an attacking mid(Lameda, Pastore, Montillo), like he played in Boca.Im just assuming, if he plays his heart out, plus we need another defensive mid, we have Macherano and Gago = 2, we still need 2 more, we still have Biglia, Yacob, Costa, and Banega. We need two players per positing, Sabella loves players that can also play multiple positions,(in case shit happens), if players get carded or start cumulating to many cards over games. We also need two solid left and right backs in case "shit happens". Centerbacks, It all depends if, Thats why is to early and premature to determind, I prefer, a stronger player back there with a touch of experience, thats fast and can anchor, I like Garay and Fer, I just dont want annyone trying to bully them.

I am loving this team so far but there's one problem i've noticed, not every talented player fits into the system Sabella is trying to implement. It sorta reminds me of the Barca and Ibra experiment. While No one can doubt the Sweedish forward's skills but despite his talent, Ibra just wasn't a fit at Barca. I look at guys like Lamela, Pastore, Icardi & Banega, while stars on their respective team, they are not the best fits for Sabella's system.

Lamela as Left mindfielder?

Some say Lamela is better than DiMaria, while the latter's selfishness can be frustrating at times, he's the spark plug this team is in dire need of especially considering the lack of creativity play that exists in our midfield. As someone who has seen both guys play, I can safely conclude that DiMaria on his best day, trumps Lamela on his. Not to say Lamela is a bad player but i read an article in Bleacher Report where he's labelled as a prodigy and I am having a hard time seeing prodigy talent in him thus far. I think he has good dribbling skills but he lacks the precision and the vision of DiMaria. Lamela does however have better positioning awareness. His goals are far from flashy but he always seems to be at the right spot when he plays for Roma.

Lamela as the right forward position?

I think we can safely say, Aguero is the best fit for that position.

Banega over gago?

Banega is great when he has full command of a midfield and gets to dictate, which he explains he looks great in Valencia. With this current Argentina team, he's required to be more of an outlet and add fluidity to midfield play by keeping the ball moving; Something Gago exceeds at greatly. Banega is always looking to dribble when a simple pass would do. While Banega may have a greater ceiling, Gago plays his heart out for Argentina while Banega struggles to stay fit.

On the side not, I think the former Real Madrid player would have enjoyed more success at Barca because he's more of a fit considering their style of play.

While I think Icardi is a good up and comer but he lacks the experience and the movements of Higuain to unseat him as a starter anytime soon.

As for Pastore, I really like the guy as a player but he would be a defensive liability on this team. I can see him striving in in the AM position if and only if he's backed by a trio of solid defensive Mids
Masch-Gago-Biglia
......Pastore....
Messi....Aguero/Higuain

Other than that, there's no space for this elegant, flashy but at times careless playmaker known as Pastore.

I have never seen Peruzzi play but is he better than Camp? If he is as good as I've been hearing, maybe Sabella should start Camp with Garay in the middle and let Peruzzi take over the RB position. Any thoughts on that you guys?

I would like to see Ansaldi take over that LB position. While Zaba is decent, he gets flustered with the ball at his feet when constant pressure is applied by opposing wingers.

Campagnero is pure class. Our best defending full back.. and arguably the most talented in attack (vs Rojo + Zaba)

Banega's new haircut !!!
Can anyone please remind me what was the reason that made Passarella exclude Redondo from the 98 squad ?? ..

BTW , Sabella was Passarella's assistant back then.

Lamela looks very sharp indeed. He plays on the right side for Roma, hence the hesitance I think for Sabella. One can argue Mascherano plays central defense for Barca. But you also know the difference :) Lamela actually had another nice goal ruled out for offside.

Icardi was silent for a long time, then scored. His movement was very good. Seems he gets the game (Barca DNA?). And the goal he scored. Perfect for us. There are times when the opposition defense is hard to break. You get a set piece and you just climb above all and score. Much needed "type of goal" for us.

Lamela back up DiMaria... Lavezzi backs up higuain.... And Icardi needs to gain experience around the NT because he will be Argentinas goleador for the 2018 WC in Russia with Messi pulling the swings at center midfield.

- Campa played such a great game that I was so excited for him (even though I am a huge fan of Lazio) and his goal was like a sword into my heart, but was actually an amazing one.

- Messi can score just however, whenever .. keep 'em coming.

- Great to see Icardi and Lamela keep scoring for fun.

Good way to impress Sabella by both players. I think that CF back-up spot is up for grabs and i would at this moment take Hernan Barcos over Icardi.

You know, I don't really care who the remaining 30% are for Sabella as long as there are at least the goal scorers of Sampdoria-Roma match: Lamela and Icardi. Lamela is the only player now who can back up Di Maria. Icardi is the next big thing.

Campagnero played like a beast for Napoli, good to know that the NT has a player like him in the defense.
Its also good to know that both Icardi and Lamela scored and if they keep it up they may just have a chance of making it to the WC next year.
