Mauro ICARDI could be called for qualifiers

Mauro ICARDI, the Argentine player which Italy is trying to get, could be called-up for Argentina next month.

Mauro ICARDI, the 19 year old former Barcelona youth product born in Rosario, could be playing with Argentina as of next month. ICARDI has had an explosive 2013, putting Juventus to the sword with two goals and scoring four goals last weekend. However, off the pitch, Italy is trying to get ICARDI to play for them.

Mauro has already stated that he would like to play for Argentina and that it "would be a dream to play in the National Team with MESSI". According to reports in the Argentine media, SABELLA and his coaching staff have closely been following ICARDI and SABELLA himself stated that following the match against Sweden, he will be staying 10 days in Europe where one of his objectives will be to talk to ICARDI and tell him that he's in the plans.

The reason why it's possible that ICARDI could be called for the qualifiers is because the next ones are in March. Not only that, Italy have the Confederations Cup this summer and I would think if ICARDI is in SABELLA's plans, he will be called-up before the Confederations Cup.

this is the perfect ideal FW for the near future. i see him being looked at a starting bid in the 2018 WC more than making the team in nxt years. He will deff be looked at with our clubs chasing him. But he could be another Di Santo, being loaned around all time and not getting 1st team time!

Sabella should call him in place of Enzo Peres against Sweden!

Osvaldo is confirmed Azzuri player he played 6 matches for Italy. I'm not concerned about osvaldo, icardi is more talented.

I think that's the right approach by Sabella.Icardi is in his radar and need to talk directly about his future and prospect with Tango N/T.

@ Jack no you have to play in order to get a cap, i believe Osvaldo was called up once before by italy and did not play so it didn't count as a cap.

i understand he has to play either as a starter and or also just as a sub will do as long as he gets actual game time to get a cap to be "for Argentina only".
it use to be a player had to start to get a cap.

The AFA caught wind of this and they went into action. Now could somebody please clarify, if he gets called up and accepts does that count as a cap even though he does not play.
