U20: Argentina stumble yet again

I'll admit, I didn't watch the match, so I can't comment.

Argentina lost 2-1, that's all I can say. The team plays against last place Bolivia on Sunday and after that against Colombia on Thursday. The team has to get 6 points as they are a must if they want to try and make the second round.

is quite unfortunate for this talented generation were unable to have a good coach to take them far, a coach whose tactise were all wrong from the commencement of the tournament.am very disappointed in the coach for not even beating bolivia at the home soil ,he must be sack right from the tournament.am hoping maradona can fit in the job,but all is not lost lets see th outcome of our next game against colombia.

I have said it before but we must (must in the sense we have to and not entitled to) win a WC with the current crop of players (Messi & Co) because while there is some talented players coming on, these arent nowhere near good enough to think you would win WC.

"The Overall youth development system is in chaos. Its sad it hurts that argentina's system was envied and copied by ALL for many years deteriorate so rapidly."

The fact youth development deteriorated so rapidly means it was in shambles before the 86 crew came there but it was hidden by Tocalli and co. Now we can see much much more clearly.

Since pekerman and crew stepped away from our youth set up. Argentina's youth development has been in steady decline since around 2008. The talent is their but the genious that was Pekerman and his system no longer exists. Unfortunately Pekerman,Tocalli,Bielsa etc are greatly. Missed. The fingers shouldnt be solely pointed at the players or the coach. The Overall youth development system is in chaos. Its sad it hurts that argentina's system was envied and copied by ALL for many years deteriorate so rapidly. I wont type up the entire project but its just sad to see this. I think Veron and Almeyda made some statements accusing the AFA of undermining things. When the AFA made Maradona coach of argentina was when it was clear to me we had a gloomy future. Its such a waste of great Talent.

@ Aka Mr D, Lol no you can't blame the coach, are you kidding me? The players just look like they don't want to play, i mean we couldn't do anything with this supposedly all star lineup against a 9 man chile? That is not the coaches fault, not by any standards.

Its all started with the appoiintment of trobbiani by afa.he select players like iturbe n lanzini who dont play regular football with clubs they represent.it seem coach goes with public opinion and loose the basic of winning this tournament. Hope we see changes in future especially in selecting players as well as appointng vast experience coach in junior level.velez youth coach is my choice.

It's fair to blame the coach when Centurion and Vietto (who have a very good understanding when playing for Racing) look completely lost out there.

Wonderkid(crack, next Maradona) is a term that is not needed to be used. But if you want to play on that. Dybala was playing well in La B last season and he had plenty of build up around him. There are many good young players in Argentina, many of them are in this squad. You can tell Centurion has the talent, Lanzini shows glimmer of talent, Lamela was the last big name. Prior to that, Defederico, Pastore. There will ALWAYS be talent there but not everyday players like Kun and Messi pop up, feel blessed we have these players at an age where they can still give us 2 good World Cups.

Look, this is a very talented group, there are many that will make names in Europe. Probably the most talented group since the 07 team. And yet we are still missing some good players like Ocampos,Dybala, Icardi who could be difference makers. With that being said, the group we have should be able to beat most of these teams, but yet they are a poor team. Alan Ruiz is very poor, Iturbe is showing why he never plays at Porto, the defending is slow and weak. Only bright spot has been Kranevitter and Benetiz.

this is what I'm afraid about... after Saviola, Tevez, Messi and Aguero who's next wonder kid from Argentina?

Even our own soil hates them... What happen? It's kind of curse or what.... seems there is no more logic when talking about albiceleste...

Why are people blaming the coach? What MORE COULD HE HAVE DONE to help Argentina win against a 9 man chile? I mean really...it's the players they are talented but have no discipline or shame.

Iturbe can go to Paraguay for all I care, the kid is horrible, we were up 1-0 had a chance to go up 2-0 and he shoots over the goal when it was basically empty. The team is just bad, nothing going for them. I am ever the optimist but this team shows nothing.

At least this group is not the team that will determine if we go to the Olympics or not.

I say let them fall in a humilliating manner. Lose the next two matches as well so it's over. They will not become acceptable, it's obvious, and a Maradonesque/survival style through competitions is not worth it because we aren't struggling to get workable players.
At least Trobbiani had the decency to admit it was all his fault, but this is beyond decency, because with self-criticism comes improvement and we're seeing none, so his words, however emotional and seemingly sincere, are devoid of consequences.

More unexpected failures will send a good warning to to sponsors who I don't think find it too pleasing to have their sponsored teams not participating anywhere because they can't even qualify to the next round in qualifying competitions!! And there's nothing that brings more need for reaction to greedy AFA administrators than the lack of funding.

Trobbiani has shown nothing so far...our only goal in the tournament, although spectacular, took a lucky deflection. If they keep playing like this and they keep attacking primarily down the middle we wont get anywhere. So much work to do with our next game already on sunday! We cannot let our potential here go to waste trobianni....
