Lionel MESSI wins the Ballon d'Or

For the record breaking fourth time, Lionel MESSI has won the Ballon d'Or.

On Monday, January 7, Lionel MESSI, wearing a dotted suit, was the highlight of the show as he picked up a record breaking fourth consecutive Ballon d'Or. There are no words to describe this genius. A record breaking four consecutive Ballon d'Or awards. No other player can claim to have won that amount. He received 41.60% of the votes and finished ahead of Cristiano and Andres INIESTA. This is the Lionel MESSI generation.

Lionel MESSI voted for Andres INIESTA, Xavi HERNANDEZ and Sergio AGUERO. Alejandro SABELLA voted for Lionel MESSI, Sergio AGUERO and Radamel FALCAO.

When he won the award, MESSI said this:

"To tell you the truth this is really quite unbelieavable. The fourth award that I have had is just too great for words. I would like to recognise my other colleagues from Barcelona: Iniesta it has been great to train and play alongside you. I would also like to recognise all of my friends in the Argentinian national team. Everyone that has worked with me coaches and staff and my family and my friends. Also my wife and my son. Thank you."

Here's a letter from C Ronaldo to L Messi I read on Yahoo sports news, I'm not sure if this was written by CR himself but it was funny as hell. Sorry guys, just want to share it.

Dear Lionel,

I am writing you this note to offer my congratulations on winning the Ballon d'Or. Again. As you can see by the look on my face, I am very happy for you. Please forgive me for not congratulating you at the gala, but since I am so tall and statuesque and you are so tiny and maintain terrible posture, I couldn't find you in the crowd. Also, since someone played a joke on you by telling you to wear that garish spotted jacket and tie, I didn't want to keep you from getting home and changing your clothes as fast as you possibly could. That's how thoughtful I am.

It was another tremendous year for me, and, supposedly, for you as well. You had to set a world record in order to score more goals than me. Of course, smart people know that team accomplishments are far more important than personal achievements and I helped my club to win La Liga in 2012 whereas you only helped your club win the Copa del Rey. The year my club only won the Copa del Rey, I did not win the Ballon d'Or. I suppose this just shows that voters hold me to a higher standard than you.

Anyway, you have now won the Ballon d'Or a record four times in row. I guess you're happy about that. Yet, Andy Gray, England's most respected sexist broadcaster, has questioned whether you could play well on a cold night in Stoke. After all, you have only won titles for one club, whereas I have won titles for clubs in La Liga and the Premier League. But very few players have the physical talent and mental strength to prove themselves on different teams and in different leagues, so you should only feel a little bit bad about that.

People are always trying to compare you and I, but there really is no comparison. Yes, we were both named after Americans -- I was named after Ronald Reagan, a talented actor and two-term president, whereas you were named after Lionel Richie, a man who sang about dancing on the ceiling. Which is both impossible and patently ridiculous. I impregnated a woman and created a child in 2010, but it took you until 2012 to figure out how to do those things. I grew tall and strong naturally and you needed enough growth hormones to make even Lance Armstrong feel guilty in order to be neither of those things. Also, I wear proper tuxedos to formal events while you wear a suit made out of clown pants. So comparing us is both silly and unfair.

In conclusion, I congratulate you, Leo. But remember: No matter how many Ballon d'Or awards you win, I still won it first.

that suit was delibrate must have been a nod to diego ,gota love the way the world trys to view messi as NOT A ARGENTINE if the world seen him as one he would never win wellbhe would as it would be mighty suspicious lol maradona won 1 hhhhmmmmmmm thats total bs and roman and batistuta didnt come close the fact roman totally dominataed in the spanish league dragged villareal single handedly into the limelight and he didnt even get a sniff THE WORLDS A JOKE nice to see messi breaking there backs THEY HAVE TO VOTE A ARGY OR EVERYONE SEES THERE FRAUD

@El Principe, here is my stab as to why americans like:

a) Brasil = Pele did a lot of PR for futbol in the USA and also Brasil won the cup in the USA.

b) CR7 = He is a physical player, so they like that coming from sports like A.Footbal, etc. He is a pop star so he is known to even the ignorant fan. There are MANY ignorant fans that see a couple of step overs and go WOW thats the bestest super thing I have ever seen, even though he is still standing infront of the defender at the end of the circus show.

c) Barclays is in English. Americans speak English lol.

@Kenneth, ya CR was so desperate to get some votes. Actually I feel bad for him, coz it's difficult to be compared with the greatest.

@Pablo.d, i think it's about the ballon d'or voting, only captain of NT, coach of NT, and selected journalist can vote so perhaps CR gave the captaincy of Portugal to Bruno Alves so that Alves can vote him. You can't vote for yourself.

About the polkadot suit, Messi's is a bit nicer than Maradona's, but it's not my taste :D

He said this: Not because Ronaldo is a better footballer than Messi. He isn't. But because he stole away one of Messi's most important crowns in 2012.

It sounds good, CR7 scored 60 goals or something in 2012 with all of his efforts which includes: having the highest number of shooting attempts where only maybe less than 10% of them resulted in a goal; Di Maria's diving for Madrid resulted in 15 PK or something; labelled as the most selfish player in the world ever born in football history. That is possibly's CR7 best personal record in a year. I don't think he can do it again.

CR7 game is all about strengths and muscles. By nature, when you turn 27 (CR7 has just turned 27 and will be 28 in 2013), you won't be able to do what you did when you were younger physically.

The writer forgot that Messi did score 91 with ease. There is a chance that he'll break it again in 2013. Messi is just like Sergey Bubka or Usain Bolt in that he can break his own record anytime he wants.

The difference is the stamina. CR7 is out of stamina, where Messi is just getting started.

this award could not have happened to a nicer person who brings nothing but joy to the "gentleman's game" it is a pleasure and an honor to watch him and when it was announced i screamed like a little girl lol
