Sergio ROMERO doubtful for Argentina match

Sergio ROMERO will miss Sampdoria's match on the weekend against Juventus and could be out for up to a month.

With Argentina playing against Sweden on February 6, Alejandro SABELLA might have to rely on a different goalkeeper. ROMERO, who sprained his knee during training, is doubtful for the match. As back-ups, I think this would be a great opportunity to give Malaga's Willy CABALLERO who has been absolutely amazing this season. Anyone who watched Malaga's last league match against Real Madrid will know what I am talking about.

The other goalkeepers who SABELLA has called-up on are Mariano ANDUJAR, Cristian ALVAREZ, Agustin ORION and Oscar USTARI.

Aguero is also out with a torn hamstring. Any word if he will still be making the trip with the national team?
I am also reading rumours that he and his wife (Maradona's daughter) have split up?

their no dispute romero is our no 1 but maybe its a hidden blessing as we do need a no 2 as injuries/suspentions/loss form can happen at any time but if no other g/k gets a chance and romero breaks down 2014 = trouble.

- Willy should get the call up, been great since last year at least.

- Did Romero made the wrong decision by joining Samp ? I didn't see him play in the few games I watched Samp !

- I didn't watch much of Andujar, Alvarez, Orion and Ustari this year, but they are only good as back-up GK during the game. Just in case Romero get a red card or injured. But none of them would be able to carry the hold Romero is doing at the moment. What I mean is we do need a second GK in case something goes wrong with Romero.

- I watched Carrizo (or how to spell his name) and the other GK for Lazio, and both are doing well with the team this year, whenever Marchitti is injured. Not that they are the perfect replacement for Romero, but they are in the same scale with the other names been called to the national team.

- I wish that Sabella start giving the young ones like Anderade, and Martinez (Arsenal -EPL- GK) .. Not to play them or anything, but it'll benefit them to be around the national team from a young age.

Altough Andujar has always been no.2 I completely agree with you Roy I think Willy's current form in La Liga and CL should make him the default and even keep Romero on his toes with some healthy competition
