Lionel MESSI hattrick, HIGUAIN and more goals

Lionel MESSI scored a hattrick, Gonzalo HIGUAIN scored a great goal for Real Madrid, Tino COSTA scored for Valencia, Erik LAMELA scored for Roma and Rodrigo PALACIO scored a fantastic goal for Inter Milan.

Lionel MESSI scored a hattrick for Barcelona in their 5-4 victory against Deportivo la Coruna. The first was a goal from outside the box, the second was with his right foot and his third was, well, underscribable. Javier MASCHERANO received two yellow cards and was sent off. The first was for a sliding tackle and the second for something that wasn't even a foul to begin with.

Gonzalo HIGUAIN scored Real Madrid's first goal in their 2-0 win against Celta de Vigo. It was one of those "was it a cross or was it a shot?" goal.

Tino COSTA scored for Valencia in their 3-2 comeback win against Athletic Bilbao. Fernando GAGO also played in the match as did Ever BANEGA who made his return after 8 months off.

Erik LAMELA scored a nice goal for AS Roma in their 4-2 win against Genoa.

Rodrigo PALACIO scored Inter Milan's second goal in their 2-0 win against Catania. Diego MILITO crossed the ball to PALACIO who controlled it with his chest and volley'd it.

Lionel MESSI's hattrick:

Romero,Zabaleta,Mascherano,Samuel,Zanetti,Cambiasso,Di Maria,Gaitan,Aguero,Messi,Tevez. THis are my starting 11 forArgentina with a 4-3-3 Formation with di maria and gaitan on the sides of the midfield to suppot the offense.Cambiasso replacing mascherano as defensive midfielder and mascherano dropping into central defender.I would maybe change Higuaim for tevez and have a real #9 on the small area but i thimk that argentina is more faster more agility with tevez, aguero, and messi than putting one of this ones on the bench for higuain. I would also change Gaitan for Lavezzi. Lisandro, Milito, Palacio, Aimar, Pastore,Campagnaro, Coloccini, Andujar, Ansaldi, Insua, Costa Banega, Gago are on the bench.
NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE I THINK.

@messi:

Sorry for the delay in the answer but I was a way for a while. Regarding your question, I can't answer it at all, but let us say you are at the Ritz lobby, and you want to take a picture with the lads, then I don't think they would kill you for that .. I mean it is all up to the players after all !!

I don't think Coloccini is world class. He's improved but not world class. He's a leader but his defending skills are not world class. I can tell a lot of central defenders with better set of defensive skills (defensive awareness, toughness, marking, tackling, heading, agility, positioning, strength) than him. Coloccini best attributes is his mental attributes, not physical or skill attributes.

Remember that some of the world class teams badly need central defenders in the beginning of the season, but none were after him.

You know in England, when some of the players who excelled at the mediocre teams, it is just a matter of time before they move to bigger teams. Someone like Milner (Aston Villa), Rooney (Everton), Young (Aston Villa), Cahill (Bolton), Rodwell (Everton) moved to bigger teams right after they had a good season. The likes of Fellaini will surely change his team next year. But I don't see anyone interested in Coloccini.

I trust the scouts of big European teams more than our own ability to scout players. They are experienced and professional. If none are interested in you, that means you are not that good. It is as simple as that.

Colo has only started developing into a world class player since last year, its interesting that he hit his prime in the early 30s.
As for Demi, if I remember correctly, he had a serious head injury in late 2009 and he was never the same since, but in all honesty, he's always been prone to making errors at the worst times (2 examples were the s.korea in 2010 WC and the WCQ against Bolivia, both of which resulted in goals).

I still think people are being way WAY harsh on Alvarez he was injured and played sporadically last season. Even the 2 times he got called for argentina Players like Lucho also didnt have great games...that was a argentina in transition. I remember Di Maria and even Milito 2010-2011 season being dismissed. He admittedly didnt perform amazing but i saw some very good games from him last season and he was not even at his best. I am not disagreeing his season was not great by any means. But this guy is exciting to me at least. I remember getting alot of static for liking Di maria back in 2006-2008. Alot people said the same sort of things but i think with time 2-3 Years Alvarez will prove his worth and if he doesn't we have other options. My main positive about Alvarez is that he can play the start stop or "pause" football that none of the Argentina players seem to have at the momment. The world cup 2010 really hurt demichiless reputation. It just shows if you form deserts you when it matters it really hurts. He was really good up until 2010...he just totally lost form and lost it badly as we all saw. Now we will always be remembered as a flop but people who followed him for years will know he was a valuable player for Bayern and Argentina. His form for Malaga has been good though but i always liked Samuel and Colocini more than him. I honestly believe samuel's presence is NEEDED in the national team.

Demi at his peak for Bayern was classy, solid in defense and very calm on the ball.. but I agree, he is fried.. I only entertain him as a replacement for Desabato.. a 2nd string bench player for a shit hit the fan scenario. Would rather see Samuel or Zanetti over him any day.. if vintage is the flavor we are sipping.

Ricky had alot of ups and downs in the '11 to '12 season; at his peak he was benching schjinder! but he was downright awful on his bad days. I've been following the kid since his velez days and he has the goods, but just doestn't seem to have found his footing in europe yet.
He was downright awful in the 2 friendly games he played for the NT where he was used out of place by sabella and in there lies the problem, he lacks versitility! he doew fine as a left sided attacking midfielder but put him anywhere else on the midfield and he just wouldn't cope. So if given a choice I would pick Erik Lamela ahead of him.
@leandro, sabella has settled on fernandez and garay, which tells me that he is putting some trust in the youth, but I wouldn't mind seeing overage players like colo or samuel as backups (as they're still playing at world class level). NOT demicheles though, the guy nevere impressed me to be honest.

Yup, I dont blame Demicheles or Milito for their weak play during the WC. I blame the coaches for insisting on them when they where under a bad spell. Injuries!! Breaking ligaments, etc will really punish you mentally. Maxi, Demi, Milito, etc where never the same after the physical trauma they experienced. Hopefully Demi makes a full recover in confidence.. not calling him to start AT ALL.. but if the coach does not trust more young blood (Otamendi, Pareja) I would not be too mad if Samuel and Demi sat on the bench in case someone gets hurt. Flame away! lol

I think its wrong to dismiss Alvarez in my opinion.
I follow Inter closely have no idea why he gets so much negative reviews.
He was injured and it was his first season in Europe i am usually quite firm with player assesments but the few times i saw him he was very good and even so he was not even at his best.
I admit not playing regularly and injury IS a factor and cannot be ignored but he is a quality player and barring injury can be a true asset to Argentina in future. Alvarez,Lamela and Gaitan are definitely future starters for argentina a few years down the line. Alvarez is no Riquelme or Aimar but what i like is that he is capable of playing the all out attacking style BUT he is also capable of using the *pause* that classic argentina fans love. Alot of people said the same thing about Di Maria when he first arrived on the scene. Its the firsttime in a while(if ever) i agree with Sabella in terms of something lol)

I have to disagree with the Alvarez comments and his bad form.
Last year (i follow inter closely)
He had alot of injuries but the few times he played he did very well.
I think Alvarez is an exciting prospect admittedly his injuries and lack of playing time is a factor that CANNOT be ignored. Alvarez i believe will explode as the season goes along. NOw alot of people when they evaluate players they only look at goals but his overall play is good and he is no riquelme or aimar BUT he has a the *pause* that alot of classic argentina fans like. I think Alvarez,Lamela and Gaitan won't truly get into the national team fully for another 2 years. People said the same thing about Di Maria in the early stages...how he is physically weak, he dribbles to much but he from 2008 (under 20 world cup to now) He has really improved alot and still can!
I like Alvarez and if he can stay injury free i believe he is a very huge asset for Argentina even if just an option for now.

Hey by the way ...i have been watching Malaga alot
Demi has been shockingly good lol what a shame that he totally lost his form when we needed it most (2010) he was so bad people forget he was actually good once!
I am happy for him because he was always a quality player...missed out in 2006 and when his time came his form eluded him.

According to this:

http://playfutbol.infobae.com/notas/677308-Sabella-Los-delanteros-se-estan-sacrificando-mas-pero-no-es-esa-su-mejor-cualidad.html

In the REAL WORLD FOOTBALL not fantasy football, Sabella is looking for a back up for Di Maria. Sabella is pleased with Di Maria's performance and is looking for an alternative. So I guess Sabella does not see Guinazu or Maxi or Perez or Salvio as Di Maria's back up.

He mentioned Ricky Alvarez. I hope that is not true because if Pastore is having a hard time in PSG now (having 2 DNP (do not play) 2 games in a row), Ricky Alvarez is even worse for Inter. He has not adapted to Italian football in 2 years. But whatever Sabella picks, I will respect his decision.

Lionel Messi 31 goals with Argentina:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtQU1Ktvj04

After watching it, it surprised me to know this. 22 of 31 Messi goals were from teamwork. So Messi does need his teammates in order to score. He is NOT Maradona who could single handedly do it on his own. 9 other goals are either FK, PK, defender mistakes, or do it on his own. This is the list of the teammates that gave him assists in 22 of his goals:
1. Gonzalo Higuain 5 assists
1. Carlos Tevez 5 assists
2. Juan Roman Riquelme 4 assists
3. Angel Di Maria 2 assists
3. Ezequiel Lavezzi 2 assists
3. Sergio Aguero 2 assists
4. Pablo Aimar 1 assist
4. Fernando Gago 1 assist

The ones that give him the most assists are Gonzalo Higuain and Carlos Tevez. The difference is of course Higuain gave 5 assists to Messi in a lot fewer games than Tevez did. Tevez gave 5 assists in a lot more games together with Messi. Tevez played together with Messi under Pekerman, Basile, Maradona, and Batista. Just count how many games they play together? 5 assists is ridiculously low number.

Higuain started to play with Messi only under Maradona (only on his last year before the WC 2010), Batista, and Sabella.

22/31 goals or 71 of his goals are from the assists of other players. That shows that Messi needs good teamwork.

I believe Messi should face Saudi Arabia, coz that was part of the deal with AFA.

I personally would love to see Messi play, coz he'll be able to score 3 to 4 goals easily, which will help him overcome the 85 goals per season.

On other note..
The players will stay at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, if anyone interested, the room rate will start from $373.33 but am not sure about the game ticket.

@ jack my problem isn't that Osvaldo is playing for Italy, i mean honestly he had every right he could never play for Argentina if Players like Licha Lopez don't get called up. My problem with him was the admiration he publicly showed for Argentina saying stuff like, ' I would Rather play one WCQ for Argentina than a whole World Cup for Italy" Honestly if he never said any of that than, i would not feel resentment towards the guy...in the end i don't really care about him though.

Osvaldo did not pick Italy, he had no choice but to pick Italy. Dude knew his chances were small in making to our senior side and it's not that big of a deal. I can say I am proud that none of our players are naturalized. We will never be that desperate to get players from other countries. Plus the dude is a weirdo, a wannabe Johnny Depp.

I read that he scored a great goal, but that beyond great. Did he mean it though ?!
