HIGUAIN and ROJO doubts for Chile match

Gonzalo HIGUAIN and Marcos ROJO are both doubts for Argentina's match against Chile on Tuesday.

HIGUAIN sustained a bruised hip in the match against Uruguay and is a doubt for Tuesday's match against Chile. However, the medical staff is optimistic that he will be able to recover in time and take part in the match. Claudio GUGNALI, SABELLA's right hand man said "You have to be optimistic."

Another player who is a doubt is Marcos ROJO, who was substituted off against Uruguay, who has a right hamstring injury.

If we have to replace some substitutes we have ample enough non used players like Brana and Maxi , biglia or Banega can easily replace those 2 but Guinazu for me is one of a kind of a player in our team not that he is that talented but the Guy is a terror, kicking A** like Player. not even mascerano is that type.Sometimes we need some characters in a team, Guinazu exactly displayed what he is capable of against peru.

Guiñazu has gotten better every match so at this point I'm a lot more comfortable with him in the team. However, he's not really a back up to Mascherano. He's a wrecker in midfield but he doesn't contribute much else.

I think it might be better if when Argentina goes ahead to bring in someone like Biglia, someone that can hold up the ball, pass it around, do some tackling (though admittedly not as good as Guiñazu in this category), I think this is a better method for defending the back 4 and killing time than bringing in a wrecker who just gives the ball to Mascherano which prevents Mascherano from positioning himself to focus solely on tackling and shielding the back 4 at the end of the game.

I agree with some here about Guinazu I like that guy he has always performed well upto his abilities he have almost cemented his place under Sabella as a Substitute i can see him in our WC team he is motivated player its his last chance so he will perform greatly again and again, Another one who is similar to Mascerano and Guinazu is Yacob he is also a ruthless player too..Hope he someday comes to the NT fold.

Don't have too high expectation on Barcos. He was one of the worst vs. Brazil in almost 90 minutes. AGainst Uruguay, yes he did have some good touches but that's because Uruguay were losing already 3-0 and Argentina were "having fun". I know Sabella's tendency to rely on "unknown" players for back ups rather than high profile players, we'll see if Barcos is good enough.

That's why we need Lisandro Lopez (striker) in our national team .. Stup!d Sabella !!

Barcos had some nice touches, but for sure I'll take Licha over him !!

Guinazu so far is doing good as a subs and I agree he's a combative type player,As for Pastore and Lamela did not make the list I think it's more on the reason of their own performance and abundant of excellent players at their position; we better rely on fantastic four as they have shown and doing wonderful for the team. Beside we already have Lavezzi,Barros,Martinez and Gago who are playing and helping the forwarder now, Gago position one step in front of Masche are workable and proofed. anyway hopefully Higuain can recover and play against Chile.

shafat why should sabella kick peruzzi out? the kid has got backs of potential and he shut neymar down on more than one occasion. Definitely one for the future! And like Leandro said, pastore is competing with the fantastic 4 for a place and his form has been too inconsistent with PSG not to mention that he needs to start working on his defensive efforts.
Guinazu, I know many aren't keen on him being over 30 and all, but the guy's a beast, he's a thug/destroyer type of player and he doest that role with perfection, I personally have no problem with him coming off the bench and stabilizing the games for us. Although I would love to see Claudio Yacob given some time with NT, he's a intelligent hard nosed type of player that can defend and support wht attack and would make a great sub for either Masch or Gago (or even an addition to both is tight midfield battles).

@Shafat -

"And what is Guinazu doing there anyway?"
Because he is the meanest scariest most dynamic destroyer (besides Mascherano) that we have. He comes in at the end of games to kill, he is perfect for that. Every game he has played he has done well for us.

"why not calling pastore ! "
Because Pastore is competing with a position with Kun, Higuain, Messi, DiMaria, etc.. all which are better than Pastore. Pastore (and Lamela) are still too fresh to start for Argentina.. they should be introduced when they prove themselves consistently at their clubs. Also Pastore cant defend squat.

Well Sabella needs to kick peruzzi out of the team .

And what is Guinazu doing there anyway?

Both Maradona and Batista had Messi in their teams, but none of them didn't know how to unleash his power, but Sabella did ! he is a sly like a fox !

Can't wait for the next match :D

Finally it is revealed in this article by ole.com.ar: Lionel Messi is one of the first who suggests Sabella to play the fantastic four (Messi, Di Maria, Aguero, and Higuain). Sabella answered that if we are to play that way, he would demand strong balance and EVERYONE to work hard and help each other when not having to ball. Or in other words, Sabella demands the fantastic four to do some defense.

That's why Sabella said after the match that his attackers were his first defenders.

No wonder why during the match, you saw Messi defending on the right side (especially in the second half), Di Maria defending on the left side. Only Aguero was pretty much the number 9.

Here is the original article:

Our team is now in a good shape in the ahead of world cup 2014. We need to strengthen our substituting power - and i have 100% faith on sabella that he knows how to win and use key players.

There were never want of talent in our country. But we miss world cup in 2006 and 2010 for only some ridiculous decisions of our coaches.
I never arrange any guilty of our players on that times. Everyone knows the ugly truth.

Sabella has built the team from the back side. He has packed some very young talented defenders. All they have potential to have a excellent future and to get their best time.

I don't think there should not any issue with our defensive midfielders- when Mascherano and Gago are solid and dependable. Only some issue with di Maria. But his last game (specialy 2nd half) was remarkable.

It goes that "Sabella is predictable".. I say no. Sabella is a dependable.
He was criticized for some issues after he made some instant (to the criticize). But he knows what to do and- where are those issues?

Credit goes to Sabella when Messi is converting his Barca form for us under Alejandro.
When Messi is playing like Messi- "Nothing else Matter"..

Argentina Will Win The FIFA World Cup 2014!!!

We will miss Higuain and I think Sabella will replace him with Barros and Rojo with Campag; it will be fine as our twin tower Fernandez and Garay are in form Sabella need to strengthen the subs not just selecting from domestic players as we need to test every position.
I keep my finger cross we can be good and win against Chile.

I think German Denis from Atalanta at Serie A should get a call . He has been on the form of his life lately . Also Inter Milan going to bid for him in the January .

We could have try him out . and its better if higuain takes rest and for Rojo i hope he would be able to play . Last match he improved a great deal from the last time.

I don't think away to Chile is the best match for testing peruzzi!!!! It's gonna be tough like hell. zabaleta at left back and campagnaro at right would be fine i guess.

Ofcourse @hi2 Suresh we play much better when Aguero is there, he is not a typical Forwrd he playes deeper than higuain some one like messi or tevez, so he does more one touch passings with messi and Dimaria, So obviously our football improves Aguero dont easily losses the Ball In our NT he plays similar to the way he used to play at AM where he played much deeper behind Torres. I like AM playing style more than his MC style. And Aguero is gud freekick taker too he used to take those when he was the captain of our under 20 WC team.

And this is bad news So we wantedt to see back ups so lets see our back ups, Higuains injury is a bad news hope he recovers and Rojo ohhh the guy is slowely improving an injury at wrong time hope they both starts. Other wise we can see barcos lets see what he brings on when playing with Messi, And will clemente gets started or will Zabaleta play in LB and Campagnaro in RB or will Peruzzi play in RB with Zabaleta on Left all want to see how Peruzzi can play in our RB.Lets see.

@hi2suresh Messi always ALWAYS plays better with Kun on the pitch as they are best friends so they automatically have that chemistry. However we generally see Higuian over Kun purely because of size and how Higuian is more of a number 9 and Kun although fantastic and one of the best in the world is more of a dribbler esque player like Messi and Di Maria. I do hope that we continue to see the fab 4 though.

If Gonzalo cant play than Argentina should try a 4-4-2 formation with:

Romero
Zabaleta-Garay-Fernandez-CAMPAGNARO
DiMaria-Gago-Mascherano-MAXI/SOSA
Aguero-Messi

It will be another 5 months until we play another WC Qualifer so it makes snese to try out this formation and see the two besties(Kun-Leo) do up top together without being so packed in the middle with Higuian.

Although it would be nice to see Barcos play a full game as he has begun to proven himself little by little, i do hope that Pipita gets fit in 29 games for Argentina he's scored 15 and people are asking for his head...really? He's a great forward and to ask for all 4 of the fab 4 to play great in one game..well thats a bit of a stretch.

To be honest, I am not sure if we were going to play with 3 forwards but you never know. Every game you have to view it in a certain way. But I would love to see Barcos get a entire game in,that would be fantastic if you ask me. Chile is playing poor, and the history of Chileans are they are mentally weak and fold under pressure.
