Why dont lisandro Lopez(Striker) ever be selected. He never gets called up atleast in 23.He can be a back up to Higuain. Gud to see Saviola playing again, Lamela can also be a contender to replace Dimaria. But then again needs to play well at Roma to impress Sabella.

Lamela is not a #9, we need a backup to Higuain. Maxi can probably do it, but Maxi is such a dope I do not know where to begin. Dude does not represent Argentine futbol, dude thinks he is on a runway everytime he plays. I think he has some skill and would not be bad to be looked at but not before Licha Lopez. I got no issues with Palacio, he is a hard nose player that will always fight for the ball but his best years at this level might be behind him. No doubt we need a backup for Pipita, Sabella knows that.

@Jack!:
Instead of giving the chance to "joke" Palacio any one of Maxi, L. Lopez or Lamela can get it. And the other guy who I can't spell his name. So here you go, Lamela and L.Lopez could be called up.
But that been said, they'll only be on the bench, and I don't think they would mind it.

@Nadu:
I'll only go with you if Higuain is in for Di Maria .. but by doing so the whole formation will be messed up.

@ddr1123:
For the 100th time, Di Maria can't play other than a wing, and by that, your formation will turn to 4-2-4 which it suck big time.

@Nadu, I agree. Only thing I would do different is to start out with the solid midfield (ie Biglia for DiMaria or Kun) and then add on the firepower only if its needed.

@Nadu
Good team. I must admit that my favorite formation for the NT is always a 3-5-2. Here are inssues

1. 3-5-2 is a complicated formation and needs lot of practice as a team. If you remember Pep's Barca in the last season, he wanted to go there in many games and did not quite perfect it. He mentioned many times, its tough to get it in 1 season. Now, think, if Barca cannot do it in one season, where the players have been together since they were wearing diapers, how tough it is for the NT coach. Chile did it successfully under Bielsa, but it depends whats your success criteria. And also, Chile did not have players accumulated from all over the globe.

2. For your team, the attack line is too short in height. the wingers will cross, not much height to capitalize. Also, Messi as a out and out striker in 3-5-2, I am not sure. If he drops it will get too crowded. Maybe Aguero and Pipita at the top will be great.

Having said all, and my fascination for 3-5-2, a good, realistic and safe formation is 4-2-3-1

----------romero----------
camp-----fed----garay---rojo
--------masche---gago------
kun-------messi-------dimaria
----------pipita-----------

kun and dimaria just needs to defend a lot and if we are losing the mid field battle then, Biglia or Banega for Kun.

See, in the Peru game, we were getting destroyed in the midfield. I would have just taken Dimaria out and put Biglia after 20 mins.

Saviola's goal reminds me his one in Germany versus Ivory Coast. El conejo always does extremely well in such situations. He has never lost his killing instinct. I would love to see him with NT one more time.

@Nadu, I basically agree 100%. Although I thin Fernandez is > than Garay.. especially considering his chemistry with club mate Campagnero and his great scoring ability in corners.

Guys forgive me if this'a long post...
G.K:
Nothing wrong with our team.May be Romero is not playing for a top team.But what???He gets a lot of shots in his post...Am convinced. And what I really like to see is Villy as second choice and Andrada as our third choice..Caballero is enough to be back-up to Romero and give Andrada maximum National team it will help him improve....
DF:
First of all we have to understand we dont have any top class Fullbacks.So I would like to drop every one I love to pick a 3 hardcore central deffenders.So 3 deffenders..I pick Campagnaro as R.C.B.Actually its easy to pick him there.He have experiance playing there,he is top class if not world class.I pick Garray as L.C.B,because he plays regularly,have height,years after him.And I pick Mascherano as the Cendral Sweeping deffender,Its not only give a spot in Midfield but also he plays superbly there at barca and practice in that position....So first 3 is ready and I pick Coloccini,Fernandes and one Lisandro Lopez.
MF:Come on guys we know we dont have any worldclass Playmaker at prime right now.Lets face it...Pastore,lamela,aimar,andy D...Whom you think???Ok No...Now howmany worldclass deffencive or central midfielders are there???Tino Costa,Gago,Banega, Yacob,Faurlin,Biglia,Canteros,Cirigliano.I select 3 to start and my choice are Gago,Tino Costa and Biglia hence MAscherano is our Centre back.Gago will be our 5 and Tino Costa on the left and biglia on his right.I really love Tino Costa,he dont hesitate to even kick Messi's ass(As a valencia man) and if he's on the field there wont be any little girls comment.And a fit and inform Banega will replace Biglia.So my other 3 is Banega,Faurlin and Pastore.
Wingers:If we choose this category they should be maximum flexible,I mean utility players,I choose Gutierez and Saches Mino on the Left and Di Maria and Peruzzi on right.All these four players can be fb and winger at the same time...
FW:Actually only 4 spots remaining,And the four are Messi,Aguero,Higuain,Lamela...No description

Now about formation,from this set of players almost every formation in this universe is possible and guys we can debate about plan-G instead of plan-B...
But my favourite is a 3-5-2...actually with a 3-3-2(Wide)-2 with players
Romero
Campagnaro-----Masch-----Garray
Biglia---Gago---Tino
Di Maria----------------------Gutierez
Messi---Aguero

Maxi, said he would play for Italy if given the chance, but if we call him up he would run faster than Forrest Gump! His wife is Argentine(and is a beauty) and nearly all his children were born in Argentina, he made sure of that. I hear Denis is doing good. We do clearly need a backup for Pipita, but I wonder who Sabella is eyeing. We have some options but any worth calling?

- I love Saviola
- L. Lopez is just amazing, too bad he never got his chance with NT
- Lamela was not fair by scoring that goal, the other player was hurt on the ground
- Isn't Maxi Italian by now ?!
- I hope Sabella doesn't call Milito
- Oh, Messi is just crazy .. By the way, Messi score 6 goals, while Real Madrid scored 5 goals !!
