Mik (United Arab Emirates) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 5:15 PM 0 Yupp agree with @Jack We do have to appretiate Sabella,Victories r always great that too against Great teams. after all thats what we all wants. :) Cheers... Jack! (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 5:09 PM 0 Sure Germany scored an OG, and Di Maria scored a wonder goal, but we hit the post a few times, Higuain missed an open goal, Messi missed a PK. I think it is a fair result. I am happy with it. Sosa played well, Zabaleta was subbed off for Campagnaro(people got their wish), and it was an overall good game. It's a learning step. There could be ZERO criticism to go towards Sabella today, NONE, I do not want to hear it. He did all the right moves. Mik (United Arab Emirates) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 5:06 PM 0 Even though its a friendly its gud to see us Winning in their Home turf .So Congrats for this Victory its was a tuff game still need more fine tunning but it will gradually happen . pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:59 PM 0 this is just a friendly and remember the last time we beat them in a friendly, it means not a lot until we knock them out of the w.c.did we learn a lot today? not really esp once the send off occurred. Dante Pastrana (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:58 PM 0 Congratulations to Sabella and Argentina. I really liked all the substitutions in the game. Sosa ad Rojo had a good game. Yes we still have work to do however te score should have been 6-2. We are deadly up top and that seems to be enough to win these games. Sosa and fullbacks are really the only thing that's missing. I truly love where we are going! Shinigami (Canada) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:54 PM 0 That 2nd goal was a work of art...I can watch it over and over again. Di Maria's strike was magnificent as well haman (Bahrain) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:54 PM 1 Coca was pretty good in the 1st half, distributed beautiful long balls and caused a penalty. Rojo was a decent hard worker.Really wanted Messi to score the chances he missed, they would've been fantastic goals. At the end there was teamwork needs a bit of tuning. t-cice (Haiti) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:54 PM 1 Argentina had a great game! congrats guys! Ithink that Rojo is better than clemente , both rojo and sosa had a decent game!!! Vamos vamos argentina! zizo (Jordan) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:53 PM 0 to those who say we are whining ...I think u recall when we beat them in the Madonna friendly and you also recall the world cup... they know what they are doing and we dont thats the difference I bet he wont change anything.. the goal was scored with the defence watching Kenneth (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:48 PM 0 Winning in a friendly is not 'revenge' revenge can only be justified in a competitive competition, its a great win it showed that Sabella has many plans (i.e.) if we play against a big team, if we go up a player etc. But really i do not consider this revenge in any sense of the word, this is merely a step towards said revenge which will hopefully be achieved in 2014 :) Chainsaw (Iran) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:47 PM 0 Wish we could score more. Loved to see a revenge for the 4-0 loss in World Cup. Anyhow, content with the performance, despite Germany playing with 10 men I think Sabella and the team did very well. Nicky B (Jamaica) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:47 PM 0 still alot more work to be done but the important thing is improvement is seen and no matter hwo good our a good result work still needs to be done. So well done Argentina Kenneth (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:45 PM 0 Although Messi did not play well you could tell he really wanted to score and that he was frustrated...his heart was in it for the full 90 as it always is when he's playing under Sabella. But really he should've had 3 goals the penalty and his chip that he barely missed. Nicky B (Jamaica) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:45 PM 1 It's good to see that even when our captain has a off day the team still rally around him and work hard and play well. Very good stuff I like the progress in the players Sosa is playing well, Di Maria improving and Rojo wasn't bad today. It shows that work is being done behind the scene. God Bless zizo (Jordan) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:43 PM 0 the guy from Brazil never bothered to justify his calling he just kept passing the ball never tried anything...overall we never saw anything new tonight except sosa stepping up a little the german goalkeeper killed the game by getting himself kicked out eranho (Italy) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:43 PM 0 even though we won 3-1 against germany, there will be some "fans" who will behave as if we lost 3-1 to germany . great performance by Argentina( for me this is great bcoz we had our revenge on the germans for 2006 and 2010). vamos vamos Argentina. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:41 PM 0 3-1 final! Victory! Mik (United Arab Emirates) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:30 PM 0 Zabaleta should never start he was the badest on pitch. Dimaria wow what a goal proves again hes not a headless chicken. I m glad that The REVENGE is almost on the way to complete. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:30 PM 0 Germany score with a well- worked goal. Nice header. 3-1 with 8 minutes to go. pablo.d (New Zealand) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:23 PM 0 lesson 1 for sabella play messi, hig and kun from the start TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:21 PM 0 3-0 Argentina! Di Maria scores with an absolute screamer. What a shot! And he's off , substituted . Guanizu in. zizo (Jordan) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:15 PM 0 romero is the only one doing well TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:13 PM 0 Messi almost scores after a superb team move. Zabaleta off , Campagnaro on. Mik (United Arab Emirates) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:12 PM 0 WOW Sabella going for the kill against 10 Man Germany gud idea brought on Aguero. And messi has retaliated his penalty Miss 2 Nil Cooolll TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:07 PM 0 With Aguero, Messi, Higuain and Di Maria, we look really good in the last 3rd. Dante Pastrana (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:02 PM 0 TOMA Lionel! Empezo la goleada! 10 man swangman whatever! Our attacking is the deadliest ! Cut the $hit and the negative talk. We Rock. I like my squad. Stop the whinning TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:59 PM 0 2-0! Messi gets it done! Higuain with a smart pass! Mik (United Arab Emirates) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:55 PM 0 Unfortunately for Sosa hes been subbed but gud job toda.Kudosss appretiated Dante Pastrana (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:53 PM 0 Great results even though we should be up! I love my squad and hope for the goleada next half! Way to go Sosa! TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:52 PM 0 Sosa off , Aguero in. Jack! (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:50 PM 0 When Messi is playing like crap, then you know his heart is not fully in it. Lets see if he wakes up in the second half. Mik (United Arab Emirates) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:48 PM 0 Hmmm Finally could this be the day The Underdog Sosa playing well.Wow waited for it so long Gud . Seems like a no nonsence performance from us so far. Jack! (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:48 PM 1 Then don't watch :-0 El Negro (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:47 PM 0 I don't take the game serious anymore. Messi is playing well bellow his standards. There were two clear passes Messi should made, he didn't make them. In Argentina's last chance in the first half where Messi had the ball, he should have passed it to Di Maria in the middle. He instead break into his left and waste the chance. Messi needs to start practicing on his penalties, they're not acceptable. The referee should not have given the red card. It's just a friendly. Everyone is playing a good game with the exception of Messi. Even Sosa is playing well. Argentina play too poorly on their right flank.I lose interest in the game. Jack! (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:44 PM 0 I think we should be up, have had more of a chance. Germany is trying to counter but they do not have the players to really play like that. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:43 PM 0 Argentina leads 1-0 going into the half. Quick observations:Positives:Romero: Good so far. Made 2 crucial saves and did well coming off the line to collect the ball on a German counter attack.Mascherano : with Germany going 1 man down, Masche is seeing a lot of the ball. Has made a couple of good tackles, and more importantly he is distributing the ball really wellSosa - hate to say it, but he has done ok till now. earned the penalty with a good run , and also been part of a few good passes and moves. The CBs are a little slow as noted before. Rojo untested yet. Di Maria , Messi and Higuain have been average, they need to step up big. Gago has been OK. Not spectacular, strictly ok. Zabaleta has had a shocker of a game so far. I can't understand how he looks so out of position and pace , compared to his club form!It will be interesting to see if we make any changes right after HT. niklucky02 (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:41 PM 0 Sosa ... my hero for first half :P Chainsaw (Iran) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:39 PM 0 Good performance in the first half. Horrible penalty and all in all not a good performance by Messi. Sosa man of the match so far! XD Fred (Hong Kong) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:37 PM 0 The match is boring, esp after the red card Kenneth (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:37 PM 0 Haha the two best players right now for Argentina....Sosa and Rojo! msi2 (France) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:37 PM 0 One thing is sure, in 2 years in Brazil, we will have to win the games either in 90 or 120 minutes but going to the penalty kicks is like the kiss of death seriously. zizo (Jordan) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:36 PM 0 tired first half I like to understand if you wont take chances in a friendly when you gonna do that TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:33 PM 0 Argentina 1-0 . Khediera the culprit with an own goal from a Di Maria corner. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:22 PM 0 Yeah, a pretty poorly taken penalty by his lofty standards. Messi looks a little flustered. zizo (Jordan) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:20 PM 0 well it was weak and predictable TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:18 PM 0 Lord help us. Messi's penalty gets saved. What is it with Argentina, Germany and penalties? zizo (Jordan) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:18 PM 0 what a joke maybe they should let sosa take it TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:16 PM 0 Wow...turn of events! Penalty to argentina , RED card to the German goalie. Guess who made the run? Sosa...! TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:12 PM 0 Zabeleta is absolutely being tormented on his side. Concedes a yellow with a challenge on Khediera. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 3:06 PM 0 19 minutes out and Higuain has picked up a little injury. Heads clashed with Hummels and Hig's head is now pretty bandaged but he is continuing for now.The argentine right side looks very weak for now. And there have hardly been any spell of possession enjoyed for now by Argentina. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 2:59 PM 0 Klose and Ozil combine to go really close to opening the scoring, but Romero comes up good. Zabeleta getting caught out of position out 3 times already now. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 2:55 PM 0 Here is something you might have rarely heard: Sosa and Rojo combine excellently up front with Rojo delivering an excellent cross in. Higuain didn't connect, and was flagged offside anyway. Hope it gives them confidence. Po (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 2:51 PM 0 Where is Messi? TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 2:50 PM 0 4 minutes in, and Germany went really close with a chance . Reus getting tonnes of space on the right side. ArgiesFanIndia (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 2:32 PM 0 Congratulations Sosa... TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 2:22 PM 0 Looks like Reus gets the start ahead of Schurrle for them. A little more than 20 minutes away from kick-off. Kenneth (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 2:18 PM 0 Mertesacker not being there is actually worse for Argentina as his only strength is being good in the air considering he's 6'5. Argentina doesn't do a lot of crosses so it doesn't matter....Schweinsteiger and Neuer are the only big absentees, on the wings they still have ppl like shcurrie who can also play cf and ppl like reus. This will be a good game considering both teams have the ability to control a game but most of their goals come from counter attacking :D Aimar (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 2:15 PM 0 Live chat on Mundo or not??????????????? TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 1:50 PM 0 @ ddr1123, if those substitutions and the timing of those subs actually end up happening, I'm coming to you for financial advice! :-) ddr1123 (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 1:41 PM 0 Wow I pretty much nailed it few days back. Same formation. I just had Clemente instead of Rojo. My subs were as followsSalvio for Sosa (68 mins)Campanagro for Rojo (70 mins) - Zabaleta goes to leftKun for Pipita (73 mins)Lavezzi for Dimaria (81 mins)There could be more. Well it won't be funny anymore if it happens. On a more serious note, cannot make everyone happy. Lets see what happens. Sabella is staying put with something, instead of chopping and changing everyday. We have complained about that in the past, when Diego called 73 players. We all said, he has no clue what he wants. One view I can share from non-Argentina fans:"Your team is looking better, pretty consistent, winning most of the matches. You do not look clueless as before. And scary, Messi finally looks to play well for your NT."Comment from some Brazilian and Spaniard friends. So you know lets see. Couple of players I do not like, Sosa and Rojo, like all. At least Sosa is getting subbed these days half way through. Lets cheer and see what happens. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 1:37 PM 0 @p2bn,I'll be watching it on live streaming online. p2bn (United Kingdom) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 1:34 PM 0 TheVickermanSchurrle is very good. Very fast.Btw if you are in India how are you watching it? Argentino Trucho (United States) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 1:33 PM 0 I hope this match goes well. I just hope that Aguero shines as a sub. In my opinion he should be starting instead of Higuain. TheVickerman (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 1:30 PM 0 We're about 1.5 hours away from kick-off.Here's a quick enemy scouting report:Germany's starting XI seems to be the following:GK: ZielerDEF: Boateng, Hummels, Badstuber, SchmelzerMID: Khedira, Kroos, Muller, Ozil, SchurrleStriker: KloseThe big names missing are: Neuer, Schweinsteiger, Mertersacker, Gomez and Podolski. GK: Neuer is a physical presence , quite daunting and confident. He's a loss, but I expect them to churn out good GKs. DEF: Mertersacker in defense is missing. He has the experience and height, but has been in indifferent form for the last 1 year with Arsenal. Both Bender and Badsteuber are quite tenacious and have a good understanding, so it will be interesting to see how our front-line fares against them. It will be a great test . Boateng comes up forward quite a bit in attack, and works well in tandem with the tormentor from 2010 (Muller), so Zabeleta and Sosa really need to be on top of their game. I don't know anything about their other wingback Schmelzer. We can expect Sabella to test him by putting Di Maria to attack on that side.Midfield: Kroos replaces Schwein as the "engine", has the ability to pick passes from deep and drive forward. He's a pretty good young player , and while he doesn't have the leadership ability or tackling of Schweinsteiger, I rate him a little higher in creativity. Khediera has turned into a very good defensive midfielder for Madrid and Germany in the last 3 years. He has a terrific understanding with Ozil, and makes good forays forward. Ozil - of course is their creative genius. Unselfish and always looking for a pass. Masche/Gago have to shut him down with 1 of them man-marking him.Muller - He has turned out to be a very effective player under the Low system without seemingly being outstanding in any specific aspect. He works hard defending, and perhaps his best ability is that he understands the system very well and makes very good runs into spaces, often stealing goals against indisciplined defenses. Attack:Gomez is a big miss too, but Klose has the experience to fill the lone striker role. Needless to say- we need to watch out for set-pieces. I don't rate Podolski too high, though I am not sure how Schurrle is either. An amateurish observation: I feel the center of their midfield and defense is very strong (Bender-badsteuber-khediera-kroos), and one strategy we can think of exploiting is bunching Messi and Di maria to their weak side and d exploiting the lack of experience there. Mik (United Arab Emirates) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 12:55 PM 0 Gud luck Argentina. Hope to see a gud contest. rey (United Kingdom) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 11:50 AM 0 This is practically the same squad when we were under Batista. Even he got rid of Rojo after poor performances. The German team does not have its strongest squad so it will be interesting to see what happens. fotobirajesh (India) Posted on 8/15/2012 at 11:32 AM 0 It is depressing to see Sosa and Rojo in the lineup.
