Posted on 8/15/2012 at 5:09 PM 0 Sure Germany scored an OG, and Di Maria scored a wonder goal, but we hit the post a few times, Higuain missed an open goal, Messi missed a PK. I think it is a fair result. I am happy with it. Sosa played well, Zabaleta was subbed off for Campagnaro(people got their wish), and it was an overall good game. It's a learning step. There could be ZERO criticism to go towards Sabella today, NONE, I do not want to hear it. He did all the right moves.

Yes we still have work to do however te score should have been 6-2. We are deadly up top and that seems to be enough to win these games. Sosa and fullbacks are really the only thing that's missing. I truly love where we are going!

Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:54 PM 1 Coca was pretty good in the 1st half, distributed beautiful long balls and caused a penalty. Rojo was a decent hard worker. Really wanted Messi to score the chances he missed, they would've been fantastic goals. At the end there was teamwork needs a bit of tuning.

Posted on 8/15/2012 at 4:48 PM 0 Winning in a friendly is not 'revenge' revenge can only be justified in a competitive competition, its a great win it showed that Sabella has many plans (i.e.) if we play against a big team, if we go up a player etc. But really i do not consider this revenge in any sense of the word, this is merely a step towards said revenge which will hopefully be achieved in 2014 :)

But really he should've had 3 goals the penalty and his chip that he barely missed.

In Argentina's last chance in the first half where Messi had the ball, he should have passed it to Di Maria in the middle. He instead break into his left and waste the chance. Messi needs to start practicing on his penalties, they're not acceptable. The referee should not have given the red card. It's just a friendly. Everyone is playing a good game with the exception of Messi. Even Sosa is playing well. Argentina play too poorly on their right flank. I lose interest in the game.

Made 2 crucial saves and did well coming off the line to collect the ball on a German counter attack. Mascherano : with Germany going 1 man down, Masche is seeing a lot of the ball. Has made a couple of good tackles, and more importantly he is distributing the ball really well Sosa - hate to say it, but he has done ok till now. earned the penalty with a good run , and also been part of a few good passes and moves. The CBs are a little slow as noted before. Rojo untested yet. Di Maria , Messi and Higuain have been average, they need to step up big. Gago has been OK. Not spectacular, strictly ok. Zabaleta has had a shocker of a game so far. I can't understand how he looks so out of position and pace , compared to his club form! It will be interesting to see if we make any changes right after HT.

The argentine right side looks very weak for now. And there have hardly been any spell of possession enjoyed for now by Argentina.

Argentina doesn't do a lot of crosses so it doesn't matter....Schweinsteiger and Neuer are the only big absentees, on the wings they still have ppl like shcurrie who can also play cf and ppl like reus. This will be a good game considering both teams have the ability to control a game but most of their goals come from counter attacking :D

My subs were as follows Salvio for Sosa (68 mins) Campanagro for Rojo (70 mins) - Zabaleta goes to left Kun for Pipita (73 mins) Lavezzi for Dimaria (81 mins) There could be more. Well it won't be funny anymore if it happens. On a more serious note, cannot make everyone happy. Lets see what happens. Sabella is staying put with something, instead of chopping and changing everyday. We have complained about that in the past, when Diego called 73 players. We all said, he has no clue what he wants. One view I can share from non-Argentina fans: "Your team is looking better, pretty consistent, winning most of the matches. You do not look clueless as before. And scary, Messi finally looks to play well for your NT." Comment from some Brazilian and Spaniard friends. So you know lets see. Couple of players I do not like, Sosa and Rojo, like all. At least Sosa is getting subbed these days half way through. Lets cheer and see what happens.

Here's a quick enemy scouting report: Germany's starting XI seems to be the following: GK: Zieler DEF: Boateng, Hummels, Badstuber, Schmelzer MID: Khedira, Kroos, Muller, Ozil, Schurrle Striker: Klose The big names missing are: Neuer, Schweinsteiger, Mertersacker, Gomez and Podolski. GK: Neuer is a physical presence , quite daunting and confident. He's a loss, but I expect them to churn out good GKs. DEF: Mertersacker in defense is missing. He has the experience and height, but has been in indifferent form for the last 1 year with Arsenal. Both Bender and Badsteuber are quite tenacious and have a good understanding, so it will be interesting to see how our front-line fares against them. It will be a great test . Boateng comes up forward quite a bit in attack, and works well in tandem with the tormentor from 2010 (Muller), so Zabeleta and Sosa really need to be on top of their game. I don't know anything about their other wingback Schmelzer. We can expect Sabella to test him by putting Di Maria to attack on that side. Midfield: Kroos replaces Schwein as the "engine", has the ability to pick passes from deep and drive forward. He's a pretty good young player , and while he doesn't have the leadership ability or tackling of Schweinsteiger, I rate him a little higher in creativity. Khediera has turned into a very good defensive midfielder for Madrid and Germany in the last 3 years. He has a terrific understanding with Ozil, and makes good forays forward. Ozil - of course is their creative genius. Unselfish and always looking for a pass. Masche/Gago have to shut him down with 1 of them man-marking him. Muller - He has turned out to be a very effective player under the Low system without seemingly being outstanding in any specific aspect. He works hard defending, and perhaps his best ability is that he understands the system very well and makes very good runs into spaces, often stealing goals against indisciplined defenses. Attack:Gomez is a big miss too, but Klose has the experience to fill the lone striker role. Needless to say- we need to watch out for set-pieces. I don't rate Podolski too high, though I am not sure how Schurrle is either. An amateurish observation: I feel the center of their midfield and defense is very strong (Bender-badsteuber-khediera-kroos), and one strategy we can think of exploiting is bunching Messi and Di maria to their weak side and d exploiting the lack of experience there.
