Ezequiel BARCO and Franco ESCOBAR are set to join Atlanta United in the MLS.

A pair of Argentinian talent in the Sueprliga Argentina are set to join Gerardo “Tata” MARTINO‘s Atlanta United in the MLS. According to Cesar Luis MERLO, Ezequiel BARCO of Independiente is going to Atlanta. Per the tweet, a pre-contract is going to be signed which will make the move official only after the Copa Sudamericana final. The fee is believed to be in the $12 million region.

The other Argentinian making way to the United States is Franco ESCOBAR. The 22 year old defender appears to have already signed with the club on a three year deal. The contract reportedly gives Atlanta the chance to extend for two years.

    • Yes i too think so, He is too good for a lesser competitive league. Don’t know what some players are thinking Paredes to Russia was a bad move, Pastore to PSG etc etc. May be we can sit and comment about the players but for them those money will probably settle their Family for a lifetime. Money is everything nowadays isn’t it.

  1. Barco going to MLS is a weird career move for one of the genuine up and coming stars. I guess his still only 18 so a couple of seasons in MLS may do him well before going to Europe. But I don’t see the MLS as a stronger league than the argentine league. I guess Independiente couldn’t say no to the money.
