Edgardo BAUZA to get fired as Argentina coach on Monday

Edgardo Bauza Argentina coach

News coming out of Argentina is that Edgardo BAUZA will get fired on Monday.

It’s been an eventful week in Argentine football. From Lionel MESSI’s suspension to the humiliating loss to Bolivia in the World Cup Qualifiers, a lot has happened. A new AFA president has been named as Claudio “Chiqui” TAPIA was elected as the new man in charge after receiving 40 votes out of a possible 43 in the elections.

Even since before TAPIA took over, there were rumors that Edgardo BAUZA’s days as Argentina National Team coach were numbered. The new president doesn’t appear to be a fan of the current coach and while rumors have been swirling all week long, reports coming out of Argentina are that BAUZA will be fired on Monday. If you’ve been following what has been said in the media, Jorge SAMPAOLI is one of the main candidates to coach the Argentina National Team should Edgardo BAUZA get fired.

However, the Sevilla coach was also one of the prime candidates to take over last year when Tata MARTINO stepped down as Argentina coach and the job ultimately went to Edgardo BAUZA. It remains to be seen if the new coach would be announced right away or if the AFA would wait until deciding on a new one. Argentina’s upcoming match is in June against Brazil in a friendly match to be held in Australia. Their next World Cup Qualifier is away to Uruguay in Montevideo in August.

@Md. Ashraf Hossain: Before calling others haters, as a old reader of this blog, I want to comment something.

I have never seen San Isro, Sulav , Jack and others commenting against Messi. Infact they always supported him however seeing the team going through the same shit will frustrate anyone including me. I agree with Jack that it is hard to believe that messi doesn’t have a say in the team. Every time you see there is a group of players smiling and having fun on the ground. There is no discipline in the team and you don’t need to be a genius to find out when Lavezzi sprays water on Sabella, Messi looking the other way when coach is giving instructions and especially when Higuain, Di maria, Aguero is selected irrespective of their form whereas we don’t give a chance to a certain striker citing personal reasons.

Its time the players understand that you need to earn the NT shirt, you wont get it based on your fame.

    Gago = Cambiasso = Maxi Rodriguez = Banega = Biglia = Mascherano = Aguero = SHIT!!
Whoever the coach putting them together in midfield 90% lost, 9% draw, 1% win. You could see what meesi done with them. DO nothing!

It was funny, nobody could find someone good in dribbling, passing and having great penetration such as Aimar, Ortega, Riquelme, Gallardo, D’Alessandro, Lucas Castroman.

Argentina indeed has Gaitan and Pastore who qualified, but nobody trusts them. suck!

    Hi All,

Finally some good news..have a bitter feeling, it took such as long time to make such a decision…We need somebody more seasoned and ruthlesss..be it Sampaoli, Simeone or Bielsa..I am not concerned, whether we win worldcup or not..but we need to qualify with quality..

    Thats all..my 2 cents..

    San isidro,
I have no intention to argue with an idiot. Just go and check what camino and manusco said. You are a disgrace of a fan.

Its pretty sad that somebody as uninformed as you is an Md. It just proves that there are C students who become doctors too.

      1. vimaldass

Err…@san isidro i think “Md” means Muhammad instead of medical doctor bro..

        1. San Isidro

You are probably correct my friend. I just get tired of people pretending to be passionate fans that lack any kind of knowledge regarding our history. Its a shame they take the time to write their opinions yet know so little.. There is a place for that. The ESPNFC comments section

          1. yogesh

Messi is d best…The thing is that Argentina is cursed and if we din qualify den…….🏆dream gone

          2. vimaldass

Lol yup i agree although “goal.com” would’ve been a more appropriate site for them to posts opinions which they heard through grapevine.

    Ashraf,
Do you know anything about the history of Argentina Football? Are you that uninformed that you would post such stupid shit on this forum?
What do you think those 2 stars above the AFA logo stand for? They stand for World Cup Championships. Do the names Kempes, Bertoni, Ardiles, Tarantini Filliol Pasarella, Burruchaga mean anything to you?
Before you defend this gutless group of shit players with the exception of Messi, learn a little about the history of the NT.
This group has 3 finals losses. 2 Copa America 1 World Cup championship. Yes, that would be 2nd place. When you negotiate with yourself on losses to teams like fucking Bolivia, that means your standards and expectations suck.
You want to know why the AFA can’t shed themselves of guys like Bilardo and Menotti and Maradona after all these years? Because this group of losers playing today can’t win shit. You want to know what passion is? Go look at some highlights from Argentina vs Brazil in 1990 when Canniggia destroyed Brazil with ice in his veins. Go look and see Walter Samuel and Roberto Ayala defend. Or Ardiles do his magic. Or Redondo destroying players AND having offensive skills. Or Sorin dominating from the defensive back position.
You know what we have today? We have Higuain shitting the bed in a world cup final and a copa america final. We have DiMaria who can’t make an accurate shot. Or Aguero that can’t run. Or a hack like Mascherano that has the offensive skills of a 5th grader.

I also take it your mood re the national team, its players and management is exactly the same as mine and we will call that far from being happy at the situation(s)

      well said San Isidro!

  8. Debasish Duttaroy

I can tell you if it is NT, Dimaria wont play the ball back as he did for Draxler.

  9. Som's Palchow

Forward: Messi ,Dybala should be in 11.
I would like to keep Higuaín and with him some young player like ICARDI,Giovanni Simeone,Vietto,Correa,Perotti,Centurión,Alario
    Driussi

Aguero and Lavezzi not doing well now in National team.

Midfield section : Banega and Di maria are one of the best option now for sure. Still they have the ability to be in starting 11.
And we need more ball player like Pastore,Lanzini,Gaitán,Rodrigo de Paul,Lamela,Salvio,Pavon
we can get more option like Ignacio Piatti ,Alejandro Gomez,Fernández,Ocampos,Lo Celso
with some good defensive midfielder Paredes,Pizarro,Gago,Kranevitter

Not sure about Mascherano, But Gago,Biglia,Perez is Not in good form.

    Defense:Mercado,Otamendi,Garay,Musacchio,Rojo,Fazio,
    Emanuel Mammana,Ansaldi,Buffarini,Tagliafico

Funes Mori doest not have much confidence.

FOR goal keeper : Rulli,Armani,Caballero,Werner with Romero. but Rulli is my first option is no 1 for Argentina.

  10. dollon biswas

I never even see any worse coach like bazua…even I must be more great coach then bazua…

  11. Md. Ashraf Hossain

Some are saying our current bunch lacks passion

I ask them if they the tears of mascherano and messi in 2014.

    1. San Isidro

Tears? are you kidding me? are you FREAKING KIDDING ME?
You think because they cry after a loss that’s passion?

Passion is going the extra mile…CONSISTENTLY. Passion is putting the team above your needs. Passion is putting the country above your needs. This bunch of choke artists are good for one thing and one thing only. Coming in second place. Don’t be deceived by their bullshit.

      1. Md. Ashraf Hossain

how dellusional you can be? if you think this bunch of players aree only good to be second, then tell me who reached final before them? 90 maradona, since then none, so u mean they all lacked passion? you mean riquelme zanetti who won nothing lacked passion?

Bauza was never anything other than a caretaker. A shitty coach with no business even coaching in the second division.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing about the NT was said by Carlos Dibos, a NT trainer about the players. Roy, you should REALLY translate his comments for everyone to see. He basically said the team is a club for friends, and Mascherano is the leader of the “friends club”. This is what many of us at Mundo have been saying for years. Not enough seriousness, sacrifice, and heart. Just a bunch of millionaires posting pics on Twitter.
Whoever comes in has to have the balls to break the club and get rid of some of these players permanently. Sabella did it with Tevez, but fell short on others. Bauza also played favorites, and lost. For example, how can the captain of Inter Milan not get a spot on the bench but Pratto starts…Its typical Argentine politics but in football.
I for one would say I don’t want to see DiMaria, Higuain, Mascherano, Banega, Gago, Aguero, Biglia, Enzo Perez, Zabaleta, Romero, and a handful of others ever on the team again. We can easily win with Dybala, Alario, Messi, Icardi up front. We need 3 two way midfielders. No more defensive specialists in the midfield. The game has changed. The midfield players today can run all day long, and can create offensive opportunities. We have them, they just never get called up. In the back, we would be fine with Mercado, Funes Mori, Rojo, Otamendi Garay and maybe a couple other youngsters like Mammana that never even gets a shot because of politics. Put Riulli in goal, and publicly tell the truth about the stiffs that don’t do shit like the list mentioned above. These dead beats had their cycle, and I would rather lose with players that give effort and are hungry than play like we have with guys like Higuain and DiMaria and Aguero who lack the intestinal fortitude and get lost in the moment.
Sampaoli will be the guy most likely, but Gallardo can win also. Sampaoli already said if he is coaching Icardi is on the team. A step in the right direction. No more fat center forwards who only score for their club team, yes I mean you Higuain.

    1. vimaldass

Brilliantly said san isidro. It’s painful to watch our beloved team play with no heart at all. Worse still when there’s this constant hearsay about the “friend’s team” lately which only infuriates all of us. Bauza NEEDS to go already! Period

    2. Som's Palchow

I am partially agree with you @Isidro ,

any body have a doubt watch world cup 2014 chile vs against spain netherlans usa and copa america 2015 the way he sets his team…. and agianst juve and barca real madrid…. with just aveg players…. if he get messi dybala icardi aguero higuain gomez lanzini…. he was eagarly waiting …. i hope so… best thing going to happen for argentina people and all over the world… he will win remaining wc qualifying job with or with out messi…. thats what all messi fans wants too… i hope ass maradona will no longer greatest for argentina people after 2018 wc

  14. Mafioso

Sampaoli is best candidate to replace Bauza. He has NT level experience, also the top European level experience. He has done well where ever he went.. U De Chile, Chile NT, Sevilla FC. He plays positive football, yet tactically sound.

Gallardo is too young to coach NT,but most importantly he prefers older players. We need the injection of new bloods to the team.

    1. Ghostdeini

Sampaoli also could be considered the closes to a foreign coach we would ever get. He hasn’t coached an Argentine club. No Estudiantes or San Lorenzo players just because the coach worked with them earlier. I don’t mind the Sevilla players if he calls them.
Let’s wait if Bauza really gets fired, I don’t count on it until it is done and dusted because I don’t want to be let down.

      1. Mafioso

Bilardo hates Sampaoli 😀 Bauza will be fired. The current management doesn’t like him. And there is no case for him to continue. No matter how corrupt they are, AFA can’t risk WC qualification. They will do something about it.

        1. Ghostdeini

I would hire Sampaoli just to piss off Bilardo 😛

          1. Mafioso

Jorge Almiron (45) current manager of Primera champion Lanus is also an rumored alternative.

Bilardo said that he would immigrate to Uruguay if Sampaoli is given the NT job 😀

  19. Sabellista

Great news if it’s true. However I still believe this is an April Fool’s day joke by Roy.

  20. Mohamed Thaufeeq

Good news. Hope the next coach won’t be a dump like Bauza.

  21. pablo dennison

    getting closer
“Word out of the AFA right now is Bauza is 90% out the door; Sampaoli is the favourite BUT nothing to be confirmed tonight”

  22. EnganChe

Bauza always seemed out of his depth coaching Argentina. If this is true I hope we have an upgrade soon, it better not be somebody like him again.

  23. msi75

    Ah yeah, that’s the period…

  24. SulaV

It better not be another April fool joke Roy!!! Our whole team and the management itself is a big joke already!!!

  25. karl

Another thing is a recent poll in Argentina shows that Lavezzi, Arguero, Highain, and Di Maria are top four players that people want to drop from the team.

I just hope whoever take over Argentina NT will not listen to Messi’s teammate preferences. His friends are all sucks…
