Edgardo BAUZA: “If I had to rate this game, I’d give it a ten.”

29

Argentina National Team coach Edgardo BAUZA spoke to the media following Argentina’s 1-0 World Cup Qualifying win against Chile.

Edgardo BAUZA spoke about the match and stated that there would be players called-up due to suspensions and injuries. Javier MASCHERANO and Gonzalo HIGUAIN are both suspended for Tuesday’s match against Bolivia. Here’s what BAUZA had to say:

The match:

“If I had to rate this game, I’d give it a ten. We won and got a great result. I am extremely happy that we won. The match came out as we imagined. I was proud to see the fight the team showed. I liked everything the team did today. We played brilliantly.”

Lucas ALARIO:

“We are looking to call up ALARIO. We are contacting GALLARDO and River right now. We are calling up ALARIO. There are two more players we will be calling up by tomorrow.”

The team:

“We are playing well. I don’t think that we are Messidependent. Winning is the most important thing. How you play is secondary. People can say what they think. After we scored, the game was over.”

  1. “I’d give it a 10”, “we played brilliantly”, seriouslyyyyy bozo. Come on stop making fun of yourself. No cohession between the lines, no playmaker in the team, bad player’s selection…… It was a poor a very poor match. a coach for me is someone like in basketball, thinking, anticipating, preparing playmakes, and guiding players.
You are far, very far of being a coach.

  2. when someone is ignorant, you can have pity for him and believe that he might change one day. But when you are ignorant and you persist in your ignoring, you became stupid and ridiculous.
Crazy bozo, get out of here

  3. The most aweful coach I have ever seen for my beloved team. I don’t know what he is trying to prove, he has no guts to call new players and make a team for world cup. WE have so many young talents all over but still he is depending upon same team time and again.

  4. The one that flew over the cuckoo’s nest!
So whilst I agree with all that a 10 is very much generous…
…the defending was erratic most of the time…
There was discipline from Di Maria and Aguero in terms of pressing and tracking back. Messi also.
Obviously the usual negatives (can’t go through them all) but once again the main and fatal issue is the mile radius each player had in midfield.
Couldn’t string 3 passes together. Nothing new there.
So this is the road we are on.

  5. We can now declare Bauza completely insane. Except for Messi we created nothing and were lucky Chile did not score in the last 10 minutes. We are not even a mediocre team anymore, it is just bad. This team will be slaughtered at the WC.

A ten? Did he watch Man City vs Monaco? That came close to a perfect match.

  6. this is funny
“‘As much as we could, we [attacked] well,’ says Bauza when one journo basically asks him whether he’s serious”

    so true
“If you thought the first half was poor, Argentina have been utterly atrocious since the break. Still lead 1-0 (just)”

    I really like this
“The Monumental is rocking – Chile’s anthem lost in the whistles, Argentina’s raucous as ever & now Messi’s name rings out”

  7. I always feel a sudden surge of affection for Leo everytime I see him playing for Argentina.
Today, towards the end of the game, he is pressing Chile’s left back for blood. What does Leo see? He is alone in the opposition half. Nobody is even trying to offer support. Bousejour can’t deal with him and the assistant ref calls it a foul, by Leo ON Bousejour. He is fuming. It’s rare seeing Leo venting at officials. Sums it up. No help. Everyone is hell bent to make him reach his breaking point.

Messi is literally abused in the name of playing for this “National Team”. No team is as overrated as Argentina. The corrupt(a very, very soft term for these guys, believe me) AFA have made him the poster boy and carry on with appointing dickheads like Bauza(plays AGÜERO AS CAM/ DOUBLE PIVOT of Masche and BIGLIA), give Higuain and that long faced dick Di Maria the nod ahead of Icardi and Paolo. Bauza/Tata makes Sabella look like SAF 2.0. At least Sabella had the head to make Leo the focal point of his setup.

It’s a miracle Messi managed to carry these shitholes to three finals. Major tournaments are not won by a single Talismanic figure though, EVER. Even if he is Leo Messi. Here again, Argentina are on their way to qualifying. Leo Messi will wear himself down, again, for the cunts who are not even thankful. Heck, they have the audacity to blame him and cal him “More Catalan than Argentine”. How does he put up with this? There are limits. It’s hopeless, though.
He loves that godforsaken country too much to turn his back on them. When he felt he had enough, they said its ‘Messi’s ploy to deceive people and not be blamed for missing the penalty’. Yep, they actually believe that. Messi is a guy who evades taxes, misses penalties, hampers player’s growth at Barça and has tattoos, which obviously implies he is the worst person on earth. At least the media under Jorge Mendes payroll manages to make people believe that.

He will never complain, though. Carrying two teams at once. 44 goals by March.
This is Leo’s best season, Just trust me on this. Any other player in football history couldn’t have scored 44 whilst picking the ball from the halfway line time after time.

D10S. Sorry, again, for not valuing you enough.

  8. Can someone enlighten me on this?
What is the formula to reach Russia?
If we win the two of our remaining home games and get one draw thus getting 29 points, does it assure us a place in Russia?

  9. Stupid Bauza, to your info we didn’t deserver the 3 points, a draw would be justice considering that both teams were equal. Out attack didn’t exist. Yes we defended good, but to win games you need to score goals. 10 out of 10 is what your fucked up brain tells you !!

  10. Seriously Bauza? 10/10. I would not even give -10/10 for this game.

People are playing like headless chickens and you are proud of it?

Except Messi none was good in the game.

Rojo/ mas – Why are they scared when they receive the ball. When they receive the ball either they pass the ball in air to the no mans land in gallery or make a long pass to bravo directly.

If midfield is not strong how can u except expect the full backs to over lap and make darting runs. I remember ROJO making darting runs in WC 2014. He’s not even half of his self.

Why do y still stuck with Biglia? I could not see him doing anything marvelous in the midfield. He passes the ball to the Di maria, di maria shakes twists and does something with his leg and passes the ball back to Biglia or loses the ball. And the ball goes back to goal Keeper. No one is ready make some decent passes and move forward.

No one is supporting messi. If he wants to pass no one is ready to go near him and receive it. This is absolute headless attitude.

I have seen Higuain tracking back and receiving the ball from midfield in Juventus. I didn’t see higuain’s shadow today.

Di maria was good when he was with RM. He has to think about moving to competitive leagues else he would be a wasted talent.

When mercado overlapped and ran forward he should have been supported by someone to pass. But he fumbled with a long pass.

You can’t win a World cup with this team Bauza! I Dont know what stops u from bringing fresh faces. During Sabella era he set up a strong defence, but later we realized we need a over haul in Midfield also and till now nothing is done to change this.

Sabella – Built a strong team
Tata M – Travelled in it
Bauza. – Built a strong mouth and luck.

Trust me this team will not even stand a chance against our local rivals Brazil. European elites are far more better than us.

No one has the heart to take a powerful long range shorts to rattle the post and break opponents compose! We are sitting ducks Bauza really we are.

We want a world cup and we are waiting for it.

We aren’t tiered for loosing another WC. But we are worried of wasting time and great opportunities.

After all we have the Best player of all time is playing with us

Bring the old Argentina who wrecks havoc!

    Vamos Argentina

    • All points duly noted, but this dude doesn’t even remotely strikes me like as bright as Sabella.

I think the defending didn’t came out with any structure or tactics but rather with a lot of desperation. this was not like the suffocating defending structure (like the Belgium and the Holland matches) that Sabella used to set out us with. This was more like a lots of last ditch tackles and very bad decision making from the Chileans.

And I don’t think sabella would ever played Kun as a #10. That was like a schoolboy error in judgement from Bozo. Sabella would never had played Masche and Biglia in midfield and Di Maria so far up. Its like playing with 6 guys in defense and 4 guys in offense.

  11. I know most of you don’t like what Bauza said, but I kinda agree with him. Maybe not 10, but 8-9 to me.

We won ugly yes, but I like the fact that Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria, and Messi were willing to defend. That is the most positive aspect of the game. That is HUGE for me. Chile had like what? 1 shot on goal against a “very attacking line up”? They had no counter attacks and we were very discipline in defense.

I was afraid that the fantastic four wouldn’t defend, and just left 6 other players to defend, but that was never the case.

The game reminded me of Argentina vs Belgium in the world cup. Both were discipline and played very cautious.

Offensively, I know it is embarrassing that we scored the second fewest among all teams after Paraguay, but the offense WILL come once we fix the defense.

Bauza’s team is getting more similar to Sabella’s, at least defensively in the last 2 games. Most of you prefer to criticize the team, but I see we are moving to the right direction: 2 wins in a row against 2 world class teams: Uruguay and Chile and conceded 0 goal. The Brazil loss was a wake up call for us.

Only an amateur coach change the team drastically after 2 big games against 2 big teams.

I am not a fan of Bauza, but some good coaches today also started their coaching career poorly like Guardiola at Barca, or Luis Enrique at Barca. So we’ll see.

If we get 3 or 1 point at La Paz, then I know our confidence is high. So, no need drastic changes. The fact that 2 shitty players: Gaitan and Demichelis are out are good news for me already.

Salute boss! We are definitely going to win the world cup. Germany, Brazil, France or Italy, it doesn’t matter. We can beat anyone as long as Messi is happy with his friends. The team is missing only Tevez and Gago now.

Your last line was Gold, sir!
“After we scored, the game was over”

    Vamos Bauza!!

  13. well this summaries bozo perfectly.

“Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you’re nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said “Far out, what a day, a year, a laugh it is!”
You know, well you know you had it comin’ to you,
    Now there’s not a lot I can do….
    Dreamer, you stupid little dreamer;
So now you put your head in your hands, oh no!”
