  1. well i expected nothing from this so call parts of a team and they delivered exactly that.
as it stands only 2-3 are quietly knocking on the n/t squad door, the rest at the moment are out of their depth.

i said on rullis horror mistake, what he does after it will show us what he is made of and he stood up after it big time, id have no problem him being the the 23 man squad.
cor is not ready for the 23 and if sim cant get him motivated that im not sure what will, their is no doubt he can be talented but at the moment seems to lack that “footballing brain” to make him stand out from many players like him. he is still young and im not at all writing him off but their are others who should be in the 23 before him at the moment.

  2. Well that’s just great!
Another no.9 off the conveyor belt who has his boots on on the wrong foot!
What we are looking at are individuals with assumed talent clearly knocked for confidence or just plain starved of it. Who also look unfit and bothered.
Youngsters who clearly have got minds elsewhere.
What I’ve seen from these boys were testimonial performance and attitude.
Apart from Rulli’s huge error for the 2nd Portuguese goal, I am very confident and pleased with his overall performance. We have a proper no.1 in the making and i am confident he’s going to be as good as Neuer and De Gea.
As for the rest of them – theyve not done themselves any favours.

  3. These youngsters suck…Especially Riulli who had an awful tournament….Who the hell is calling for this stiff to start over Romero??? The guy SUCKS!

    • All of the youngsters had some mistakes because they are youngsters. But it needs to separate the weat from the chaff.

Clearly the trio Rulli, Ascacibar and Gomez our future NT. I hope nera future.

2 sort: Soto, Gianetti, Pavon, Lo Celso, MArtinez?

Correa is individual case. We know about his talent but question is which way he gives direction that. Individual show or play for team.

      chaff: Calleri, Espinoza, Magallan

      • I can understand some folks appreciation for ascacibar. But I am not quite convinced. He looks ok in parts. Very industrious and puts himself about and is available to his colleagues. I give him that. Maybe I am expecting too much. Given his age and hopefully with the right move in 2 years he can be taught to do the simpler things rather than go for bold passes. He did lose the ball a fair bit trying at times to do the impossible. However will give him the benefit of doubt.
If I see Calleri though as our future no. 9 I will have a cardiac episode!

        • Expectation to Ascacibar is: he will be Masche +. It’s the best thing. While reminds so much players like Mascherano or Gattuso in defence by his stamina still is a player who may add something in attack unlike Masche. It’s our first chance to have such kind of No.5.

wrong passes will eliminated when he will grow I think. Don’t forget he is just since february in senior football.

  4. What could you expect? Olarticoechea never coached before the tournament… With that, everything is being said. Then Calleri…

With that being said, the crop of youngsters is, quite bluntly, not good enough. They are without any doubt quite inferior to the ones in 2008. Outside of Ascacibar and maybe Gomez, i don’t see much in short term, which means we will have to deal with the same old again…

  5. ………….……Rulli
    GOmez……?………?…….Tagliafico
    ……………Ascacibar

Rhomb like trunk of future formation

  6. The Olympic football tournament was similar to the previous youth tournament (world cup U21 in New Zealand). A major disappointment.

Rulli and Ascacibar will make it to the national team. Gianetti and Gomez might make it. Correa is overrated just like Vietto.

Hopefully Bauza will guide us to the WC otherwise we have nothing to look forward to for the next few years.

    • Still must realize that just 1 lacking goal to make quarter final. One goal. No matter against Portugal, Algieria or Honduras. 1 goal. So it’s hard not to blame Calleri.

  7. Correa was bad only in first game. THe more he play for a team the more he looks like great crack player. I hope he will fight after No.10 of NT with Dybala in future.

  8. They are people who want to strike off Correa after one lost tournament and they do not want strike off some shitty senior players after a lot of tournaments

  9. No surprise here, Olarticoechea is not an experienced or even a talented coach, plus he had very little time to prepare. Also, this was not a team that inspires confidence, the caliber of players was subpar with the exception of Rulli. Calleri – pathetic, Correa – flashes of talent but still a very long way to go. Ascacibar hopefully will mature. Gomez – might turn into something, we’ll see. Cuesta did not impress. Others like Gianetti, Soto need to work harder.

  10. Remember you guys this is our second choice u-23 team

    Vietto. Icardi. Dybala

    Parcedes lanzini
    Kranevitter

    Mammana In defense
then add three national team players like mascherano , pastore and Aguero for example.
.. You would beat Brazil for gold… It’s a shame that people don’t talk about how is isn’t our best u23 team and how We didn’t recall any national team players (Cuesta iS not national team .. Sorry)

    • It’s not even about B team. Sometimes two idiots may squander all. The first is Calleri, the second – Olarticoechea (because he play with Calleri every game).

If they were made no chances then I would understand talking about A team but they had a lot of chances. Most of them missed Calleri. He is main culprit.

      • Individually we are the best team of the whole olympic games(even with this team), but our players are so immature. Portugal looks like a professional team. (with 20-21 years old guys), our youngsters like street footballers.

  11. It is over. Just not enough quality.
Without the likes of Dybaka, Icardi, Paredes etc. we had no chance from the start. Losing to Honduras makes us look pretty bad in the world. Sad.

  12. Joke…weakest NT in the history without a doubt, cannot dominate against such shit teams like Algeria and Honduras ? What the hell ? And Brazil will win this hole shit i bet…

  13. Rulli our savior twice. We can now safely say West Ham has spent their money in the worst way. Calleri is a waste. Simeone please otherwise we go home.
